so easy to make your own baked chicken and tastes better.
Just wash a whole chicken (clean inside, as well) Then salt inside.
Put it breast-side DOWN on small baking rack in shallow baking sheet (I line the pan with foil first), bake at 350 for 30 minute, then turn the bird over onto its back (drain the cavity when you turn it over, put those droppings in the bottom of the cookie sheet). Bake for another hour, turn over (and drain cavity again) for 15-30 minutes, and then turn back on its back for a little longer. I do put some foil over the bird for the first hour or so just to save splatters on the oven. With whole chicken at 69 cents a pound, you just cannot get an cheaper, easier meal than this.

This came from an email from Andy, the owner, last December to the employees:
"Whether we think offshore labor is right or wrong, it has become a fact we cannot escape from. OSi will not actively pursue offshore labor contracts, but we have made the decision to experiment with using some offshore labor to save this large OSi client from going elsewhere. We believe this is the best decision for our employees assigned to this account and the company because this account is growing and we can assign the offshore part to the future increases and not have to reassign any OSi MTs. OSi is committed to continue using US MTs for the majority of their work and we will continue to resist going offshore."
He is talking about Ochsner, and I was told that they STILL offshore to them and also to Sarasota and Mayo.
The problem is that they LIED AND DENIED AND LIED AND DENIED this for years. They got caught when the then-QA manager, SD, mistakenly forwarded an email from the Indian company to the company employees. Of course, she was demoted, so they hired NP to replace her. However, FA pitched a hissy and threatened to go on strike because she was overlooked, so they kissed her a$$ and moved NP to another position. Not surprisingly, that department has gone straight to the toilet, and almost everyone has either quit or gotten fired, in addition to the mass exodus of employees since this came to light, because she is incompetent, inexperienced, and daffy as hell and is the most irresponsible, nonproductive person in a management position.
Be careful. If you are not in THE circle and kiss a$$, you are so dispensable that it is not even funny.
Any company that repeatedly lies about offshoring, promotes incapacitated people on power trips, and sends the work offshore in the first place, is ruthless and cannot be trusted.
Look elsewhere. It will only get worse!

Bo and Hope's little boy, Zack, was killed by Chelsae (Bo and Billy's girl). The all lied to Hope to cover up the fact that Chelsae did it....even Bo lied! Last week Simon told Katharine that she wasn't as good as Whitney and Katharine started crying. Overall I agreed 100% with what he and Randy said on her - that she goofed up the song and wasn't good. Well, on the results show Ryan asked Simon if there was something he wanted to say and he said yes, then went on and apologized to her and said that on reviewing the tape that it wasn't that bad. I know many other people that don't believe for a nannosecond that he honestly felt that - Simon has never retracted what he has said and it makes us wonder if she has some family or friend in high powers at Fox that put pressure on him to apologize for making her cry.
Personally even though she has a nice voice I can't envision ever wanting to buy her CDs as she's not that great. She is the type of singer you'd see on a cruise ship or broadway type of show - not a top pop star. She also flirts so much that it makes me almost nauseated to watch her.
Here's the scoop on being an IC...
When you're an IC you're contracting yourself out to the company you're working for. This means that you work out the days/times/terms for your work. You don't "have" to work certain days and times but if you refuse to work when they need you then they can terminate your relationship. Since you're an IC labor laws don't apply and therefore if you work more than 40 hours that is by your own choosing and it's paid at your regular rate unless you get the company to agree ahead of time to pay you extra.
Here's the scoop on the RMT and CMT exams...
From what I understand, the RMT is an entry level test which means nothing basically. My employer doesn't pay anything for it. However, we get a dollar an hour raise for passing the CMT, which is worth roughly 2000 dollars a year for me, so as useless as people like to say it is, would you take 2000 dollars or say "no thanks." I know many employers pay nothing for it, in which case I wouldn't pursue it, but since mine does, I will probably try to pass it in the next year or so. I hear the pass rate is abysmally low, which makes me wonder what is up with that.

I definitely think they are one of the best out there. We also have been talked through issues over the phone and also had a warranty in which they came out and fixed it right at our home. My only complaint..and I am sorry for saying this.. but... when you call their customer service 9 out of 10 times...you get someone who barely speaks English and I just hate that. I think that is true of a lot of customer support centers these days, ironically they are rarely American anymore. I am not prejudice at all. I just find it frustrating to call in for help and the help you get barely understands you and you do not understand them, thus making the experience very frustrating..
Expensive is right -- around $300 per credit hour! But they do have a good rep. Good luck! nm

but I live in the northeast and not much need for that where I live. I also live in a small town so that limits my options. I have spent the last couple of years as a substitute teacher to supplement my MT job and just completed 4-1/2 months as a long term sub which I enjoyed and was a change of pace from MT. The only problem is as a sub or ed tech you only get paid during the school year so I would have to keep my MT job for summers and school vacations. With the way things are going in the MT world I hate to rely solely on that. I don't want to find myself without any job whatsoever.

a newbie and you still have to look up lots of words .... The very first day I typed, with absolutely no education way back when, when you didn't have to have a degree/certificate or previous experience, I typed 665 lines. This was without an expander and I was not a fast typist. I can do 1000 lines in about 4 hours now on average.

unfortunately, there aren't many MTSOs out there who will confront a poor dictator and nip it in the bud to begin with.
In the old days we used to do this all the time. A doctor was put on report and told to shape up and if he didn't he would either be charged more because they had to pay an MT more to do his lousy dictation, or he was always given the option to do his own reports if he wouldn't comply.
Believe it or not, almost every physician my former company did this to straightened up their act became good dictators and found that it was actually less stressful and less time consuming for them too!!
The MTSOs just don't have the guts to do this anymore... and they should. I can make more money on good dictators with a lower line rate than crappy dictators at a higher rate, and would rather have the better dictators and lower rate than the other... it's a win-win for both the MT and MTSO because the MT is making more money per hour and the MTSO gets to pay less for her MTs and make a better profit. I can't believe the MTSOs haven't figured this one out.
This is not a good choice. There are too many good schools
that have proven their worth. Andrews, MTEC and even Career Step, but I would not choose a school that has spammed the internet in every crack there is as the one you have mentioned. Find some graduates and see what they have to say. Go to mtchat.com and do a search of this school.

I know that what you are doing is a major undertaking. Just remember that this is what you want and that you CAN do it! It won't be easy by any stretch of the imagination, but once you have accomplished it, you will truly know what you are capable of. I think you are very brave. Please know that all of us are pulling for you and are here to help you if you need it. Go to the hospital if you are feeling at all unsure or unstable. It sometimes takes longer to learn ESL docs and is a pain in the butt, but all that does not kill us makes us stronger!! I don't love doing ESL docs by any means, but if I want a job - I need to do what my employer asks of me. Take the good and bad - or find a new job! I applaud you for working with your MTs, but you really shouldn't have to! I have only been an MT for two years and I cannot imagine telling my boss that I am not willing to learn something. How rude!
