I have worked for DSC, and Tina is a very good friend of mine. She is THE fairest when it comes to "her girls" in terms of pay, flexibility, accounts, etc... there is ALWAYS work to do, otherwise she would not hire.... As far as the overseas issue, THAT is the choice of the client, NOT Tina... I know the backroom truth about that, and it is NOT a preference of hers... there is NOT a massive amount going there, it is NOT the "best" dictation going over there... it is the WORST, and only by client request. The ONLY reason I am not working there is because I had a mental meltdown of my own and could not give her what she expected of me at the time... and I was the "yes" girl, and she trusted me with piloting programs, managing a group of girls, hiring them, training them, mentoring them... she is VERY trustworthy.... you don't "hear much about them" because there is NOTHING BAD to hear. I knew Tina when her company was the size of 15 girls and just her and Tim (her husband) running the company... she has grown by leaps and bounds, and you can't do that if you treat your girls badly or consider the "taboo" overseas workers. Trust me, the overseas people DO get the garbage, and it is NOT a majority of the work... they are there to make sure the TAT is met and to deal with the clients who choose them due to THE CLIENTS' money issues... if they can get it done for 2-cents a line, they will try that first.... It is a great, stable company to work for... and they are going to be silently in the LEAD of nationals for a long, long time... and I say "silently" because there is nothing bad to say, like I said before... I would certainly recommend them highly... and above and beyond many of the nationals out there today - contact me if you would like more information... the TRUTH anyways...

I agree with the conclusion you've come to...it's the
When I had my own accounts, I made $45,000 working part time. Now I'm at poverty level, literally. And according to them, a line is 65 chars, just as I counted it. So something is definitely up!
The thing is, I believe most companies are doing as you said, and if we keep letting them, the future doesn't look too good from the MT standpoint.
Of course they have to make money, but don't cheat the MT out of what we've worked hard to accomplish. I think I can speak for others when I say, it's my hard work that gets 300 to 500 lph. Reward me for it, or I'm out of this profession.
When all is said and done, I've only been doing this for 7 years. That isn't much out of my life in the great scheme of things, and I'm willing and able to start over.
And I would not encourage anyone to do MT.
I'm wondering how you came to the conclusion that she has manic depression. Was she diagnosed
with this? From what I read, it doesn't sound like manic depression to me. Sure, she has some issues going on there, major depression would be a pretty good guess, but does she have any manic episodes?
My ex-husband and ex-mother-in-law were both bipolar which is the new and improved way to say manic depressive and they were the exact opposite of hypochondria. During the manic phase, they felt like they ruled the world. According to them, they had never felt better, thought more clearly, or got more done, but the exact opposite was true. They never slept. They never finished anything they started. They were incoherent at times, basically jumping from one subject to the next so you could not carry on any kind of coherent conversation with them. Sometimes they were even delusional - my mother-in-law thought she was in love with a televangelist and divorced her husband and moved to be closer to the televangelist. My ex-husband thought he was the victim racism when he got a speeding ticket. He claimed the officer had something against Hispanics. Nevermind that my husband was maybe one-eight Mexican on his mother's side and has a German last name.
Those are just a couple of examples of manic behavior. It can even be more bizarre. I could write a book based on what I've seen first hand and it can be very scary.
