Well, since you work more than one job, your quarterly bonus is probably not what it could be...sm

Numbness can be eliminated
Barring any other diagnoses, Rolfing (soft tissue body work) did address this for me. Block energy channels (from Eastern medicine) and old scar tissue/adhesions need to be broken down. Such blockages put pressure on nerves/nerve pathways. Often, the numbness/pain are referred from their origins. Once damage is advanced, there may always be residual problems so it is best to address things now. A good trigger point therapist or Rolfer will help you with these issues. Physical therapy (stretching) ought to be done in conjunction or after you address the underlying problem. Spasms also could be from trapped toxins/accumulated proteins in muscles and without massage/body work, those will not release. Proper lymph drainage is necessary for good bloodflow, which of course, carries toxins out for elimination.
Is it just me, or have the links (on the left side) been eliminated?
I may have done something to cause how may page loads but I do not get the list of links, like the technical link, equipment, etc., showing up along the left side any longer. Is this a recent change or is is just happening to me because I did something??? If it is just me, how would I change it back. I can't get to any of the other forums unless I click on home and go from there. :(

I have NEVER ran out of work at Spheris.
I've worked for Spheris for a little over a year, first on a large clinic and now on acute care, and I have never ran out of work. Occasionally, I have to go to one of my secondary accounts, but there has never been no work available at all for me.

your honestly. I too have had a fairly good experience, (with the exception of horrible health insurance), but I don't know if I would tell another MT to join up. There is too much commotion there now. They are in a hurry to change over to SR; perhaps too quickly. I'm also curious if the whole India thing is working out quite the way they anticipated. No MT company can work efficiently with so many new MT's.

At Spheris, if the work was running low
I would get an email from my supervisor stating such and telling us we could flex our time or use PTO. She was very much in communication with us at all times.
I personally think that the best communication between employer/supervisor and MT would be an email stating the workload is low, asking if you want to flex your time or use PTO and when do you want to make up your time so they can staff accordingly. Would be nice, huh?! :)

hospital work going to spheris
We too are in the same situation.. got the announcement, very minimal information, very general.. and now nothing.. we are supposed to transition in July next year.. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst.. we have a lot of American speaking doctors, heard they like to send those to India, very nervous.. whole hospital system network going to spheris.. I am sure there are many more of us, on the edge, waiting....

They will hire you part time for the hours you're looking for; however, they don't hire IC status, which is what I wanted.
Spheris is not working out for me at all, but maybe it'll be what you're looking for.

Bonuses are not guaranteed. They are supposed to be based on certain criteria, example, if the company makes money, if your performance meets the criteria, etc. It is the deafening silence that speaks so loudly.
BONUSES
Last year we got 50.00 gift cards to Target or Amazon and I sent a group gift to the office staff from Hershey's - it was a computer monitor made out of chocolate which I personalized.
X-Mas Bonuses
We're having a luncheon next week at the office. They have secret santas and we're getting $300 bonuses. This is the first time in 3 years that I've gotten anything. When I was an IC I didn't get a card or a Merry Christmas.
Bonuses at MDI Florida?
I have read that MDI Florida gives bonuses for employees that go the extra mile. I have been there over two years and work hard but have not seen a bonus yet. Do they given them out often or at all? They forgot us for transcription week and do not so anything for birthdays so it would be nice to get something out of it all.

I will get better and improve my skills in time, as I already have, but if these new things are implemented, I will not be given the opportunity to further improve my skills and get better. I will be canned, I suppose, for not meeting quota. From what I gather on this board, everyone with MQ has a different contract. I am new...you have probably been with them for awhile. I HAVE NO BONUSES WHATSOEVER FOR ANYTHING, NO MATTER IF MY QA SCORE IS 100% (IT WAS 98%). You probably have an older, better contract. Most of us are not whining, we are AFRAID. I actually ENJOY working for MQ (look out, I am ducking as I speak), and would like very much to stay, improve my skills and speed AND make more money. And what the heck is this about not more than a certain percentage of reports going to QA? How ridiculous is THAT? (Sorry for being out of the loop, but I do not receive any communication from MQ whatsoever and only hear these things on this board.) If they make a requirement of only a certain percentage of reports going to QA then the MTs are going to be forced to GUESS what the doctor said when he is coughing, slamming the door, phone ringing, TAPE SKIPPING, cut himself off, unintelligible foreign dictator, obviously said the wrong word by mistake, etc. These things I always send to QA. They are the experts and they should decide whether to leave a blank or risk filling it in, not me. If I was so experienced as to be sure what to do in all of these scenarios, I would be QA!!!!!!!!

As long as I have produced a total of 1600 lines on weekend days (however I choose to do it) and have 98% QA or better, I qualify for bonuses once I reach 6001 lines in a payperiod. Bonuses go up to an extra 2 cents per line. They are paid on the bi-monthly check!

No, I won't be happy about it if the bonuses are cut out. It's not the only thing keeping me with MQ though.
I do more work for MQ than for Spheris because MQ pays me more. Spheris doesn't pay quarterly bonuses and their incentive is limited to 1.5 cpl while I can get 2 cpl at MQ.
Losing the qrtly bonuses will not be enough for me to quit MQ.
We had weekend bonuses
When the work was heavy or for holiday weekends for everyone PT/FT but that was cut out in June completely.
Bonuses and overtime
You're very lucky. Do it while it lasts. Once worked for a company that always did that and out of the blue they changed and went on a hiring spree and then not enough work. Would rather work for one like yours.

Those production bonuses
have always seemed pie in the sky, to me. They're offered so you bust your butt trying to get there, but why would a company want you to earn that consistently? Stands to reason it would be cheaper for a company to pay two part-time, no-benefit people for 175 lines per hour each than one person for 350 lines per hour plus bonus. Or am I just way too suspicious?

I have been an IC for 16 years now but was married before and so had my husband overwithold. Then the last couple of years held a part-time in-house position and so overpaid that way. But this year will probably keep an eye on things and see what my taxes will be after about June and if it is bad, will make a payment then. I will have a lot of deductions this coming year - 2007 - so that will help. When I do my 2006 taxes I will just see what I owe and go from there. If it is easier to send in $400 four times a year instead of April 15th, will do that. I have never had to pay that much in penalities when I did not do quarterlies that it bothered me.
