When Bush cut taxes, did you feel so strongly that it was a mistake that you insisted to continue to send in the former higher Clinton taxes? to be a friend to someone. Yes, encourage them to help themselves, I understand that. Most people DO want to help themselves, but a true friend needs to be compassionate toward that person first, to be able to do that. Kicking them in the behind and telling them to figure it out for themselves is not being an encouraging friend. You said you have no patience for people who do not help themselves. patience is a virtue. everyone learns life's lessons at their own pace and in their own time. Understanding that makes you a friend. having no compassion or sympathy towards them does not.
I have compassion and I have belief they can
important thing in situation like this is to help friend help herself, not just give pity. Show strength and initiation and pass that to friend, not just poor you. Give compassion but also give the feeling friend CAN make her life what she wants it to be.

Tell it like it is..Thank you. So much ragging on the Mayor of New Orleans, please, point the finger where it belongs. This disaster could not have been taken care of by local govt alone. We needed the feds to step in. The president was on the TV two days before the hurricane warning it was gonna be a bad one. Well, if we all knew that, there should have been planes and ships already loaded up and ready to move down to the gulf the minute the storm abated. If anyone is showing true compassion, it is Rag Nagin. If you ask me, FEMA did not do it's job.

The recruiter had a barking dog in the background and was not very open about answering my questions. Sorry to say, but in my opinion, they are very, very last on my list.

I'm in the middle of a patient's social history and the doc dictates his occupation, and then in the PE he says he's dignified looking. I mean he's obvious very impressed by his social stature and I would love to say that!

Since she was hired as a temp and is obviously very unprofessional, sounds like maybe she won't be there for long. Hopefully, for you anyway! It sounds like you have a nice job that you like so don't let someone like that ruin a good thing for you. What goes around comes around, so my bet is she'll be gone before you know it. This has happened to me several times. Going so far as to send me programs and such and when contacting them that I am ready to go, never hear from them again.

It will be new shows. DH saw a
commercial about it a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't figure out the show this past Sunday. I only saw a little bit, but I didn't remember some of the events. Can't wait for it to start back. That is the only TV program I watch during the week.
No I don't like any of those shows or that
dumb Maury Povich. I am sick of all of these paternity tests and all of that screaming, cursing and violence.

have to see. I love that show!! I do feel sorry for the wannabe chefs dealing with Chef. I gotta say I am watching tonight, the finale!!

I love to watch House. It comes on the Fox channel. It was on Tuesday's last season. Not sure yet when it will be on coming up on the new season.

Talk shows
 I thought about it as I do quite a bit of transcribing different types of seminars but when I saw what they charge people for a transcription of the show I thought boy they must not pay much as it does not cost much to get a transcription of a show, less than $20. So they must have some type of automated transcription as for a 8 hour seminar I get anywhere from $500 to $750 and for a three day seminar I get close to $2000. Per line charge. But is frustrating to do sometimes as the audio is not the greatest at time.
But that was my thoughts on the subject.

There are plenty of good MTs out there who are constantly getting robbed by the poor pitful management people you are defending. They ship our work overseas, leaving me without work which takes money out of my hands. They force us to take on bad accounts that they committed to and have to lie about because they are so bad (bait and switch) and I can't get my lines strictly because of poor management, unsympathetic management, unprofessional management. I would love to stay with the same company, but I'm forced to leave because I have bills to pay and management does not give a xxxxx about that.
They put this on and took off good shows like (sm)
Joan of Arcadia, they also took off Point Pleasant for those of us pulling for the good in Christina. Shows over good and evil have been going on like forever... Hello people. But Book of Daniel just deals with life today in a cynical way. Joan of Arcadia said something.

When they have bad/boring shows
it seems like there are new bottom 3 people chosen. I thought Mandisa had a good voice, but country was not her best (as the case for many of them). Also, poor song choice. Next week they sing Queen songs. I've been recording the shows because they're just not as good as they have been. I think Paula needs to cut down on her medication. She's beginning to slurrrrrr her words again.

It's right up there on the Sickening Scale with that video someone posted a while back of "trainers" teaching companies how to bypass American workers' job applications, so they can then justify their outsourcing by saying there "aren't enough American workers".
There sure aren't - not when you kick all their applications under the rug or into the round file!
We need to lobby for laws in this country that will put a heavy tax on companies who outsource American livelihoods to other countries. We might as well put "For Sale" signs on our beaches, farmland, and national parks, because that's what'll be coming next.

As far as men aging well, I think Al Pacino looks better now than he did back when he first came out. He had those bags under his eyes, maybe he's gotten plastic surgery. Other bad agers: John Travolta (he looks like he ate the old John Travolta from Saturday night fever) and Nicolas Cage, an old crush of mine, awesome actor but seeming a bit hairless and bloated these days.

Two of my favories: Judging Amy and American Dreams, have both been cancelled. I'm down to ER now - can anybody point me at something that I should be watching? No HBO at our house, just regular satellite programming, broadcast channels. I started to get into Everwood last spring....
I just do not understand those reality shows.
It's so annoying to watch them. I did briefly see the guys puking all over while the women cared for them, then I turned off the TV. Really, do we need to see vomit? That's not entertaining. It's amazing the stupid things people will do just to get on TV. And all the squabbling within the teams. It's all garbage nowadays. Nothing is family friendly or entertaining any more.
