Mine too. --hate folding the laundry the most though - nm

I do the laundry, but boy do I have HUGE laundry baskets of clean clothes to put away!
I don't mind doing the laundry, drying, and even folding. Boy do I hate having to separate them and put them away or even put them in my kids rooms! Time to have a pow-wow with my teens, so they can do their own!
I have two HUGE baskets overflowing with clean clothes that need to go into their drawers or dressers! I hate when that happens!!!
Absolutely Hate it.
I'm one of the few who hate it. I quit my job because it was 90% VR. With straight typing, I make twice as much.
I absolutely hate that! I had one the other day .
That was 35 minutes long, and like you, I thought YES! Good lines! WRONG! He flipped through the chart, watched tv for a bit, talked to everyone that entered the room, had complete silence for a while and in the end the report only ended up being 2.5 minutes long. This is soooooo time consuming because you HAVE to listen to every second to make sure that they do not throw something in.
I absolutely hate snakes.
And spiders. Anyway, 5 years ago we had just moved to a different house. I was sitting on the ground on the south side planting some bulbs. Just sitting indian style, enjoying the weather. Well, I got my 2nd bulb in and picked up my pack of bulbs and went to move over to plan another and there was a snake coiled up on my sandal. I flipped. All my bulbs went flying in the air, along with my little shovel. I screamed. The thing was probably not even 2 feet long, I didn't care. Anyway, my neighbor and her friend came and chased it away for me. At the time, they were 8 and 9. lol
Love psych notes. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE,
HATE ER notes.
I hate DocQSribe, I hate DocQScribe, I hate DocQScrbe, I hate DocQScribe, I hate DocQSribe.

I do laundry for myself....now...but I did have--sm
a family of five to do laundry for at one time. working or not, I still kept up on it. I had to. Nobody else would do it. lol. but that is just me...and meant no offense. It was not directed at you, anyway.
Love cardiology, hate podiatry. Hate discharges, but

LAUNDRY! Never ends...
I do laundry for 4 during the week...
and 5 on the weekends when my son comes home from college. I have enough laundry every other day for at least 3 loads - jeans, towels and shirts, socks, underwear. Today, I had 5 loads because I stripped all the beds, plus had a small load of black and red, which I don't always have, depends on who wears what. I have a relative who always buys new socks for her family so she doesn't have to wash as often and used to leave the dirty stuff pile up on basement floor until the stuff started to mildew.
My first job working at a dry cleaner/laundry. sm
Working on a shirt folding machine in the summertime with temp over 100 degrees indoors. Smelling the dry cleaning fumes.
I have a huge pile of laundry
But I want to buy more clothes because they are having a buy one get the next for $1 at the shopping bug. They I can have more clothes to wash
Isn't that silly
do your present laundry first and then treat yourself--sm
for a job *well done* by buying new clothes. That way you get both. just a suggestion.
I think teaching pre-teens how to do laundry
I think 10-12 year olds can help do some laundry - it helps them develop a work ethic and shows them that if they go out on their own, what they will have to do....well, the ones who don't continually bring their laundry back to their mothers. *LOL* AND they love eaning $$$ - it's a great way, instead of *tossing* allowances at them.....chores/laundry/etc. = few dollars in their little pockets *S*
It's all about deals and contracts w/kids I think....and I'm a pro...on the subject, as I have some....*lol*
I hate those but I hate trauma notes on children even more sm
I used to work for a large hospital that saw a lot of children for various horrible things.
The very last one I did was a 12yo boy who had hung himself while his mother was at work. She thought he was in school. The doctor cried, I cried (as I usually did) and I just couldn't handle that anymore. That was the longest report I swear. Short in lines but the length was almost an hour. The doc didn't pause the machine, she cried, horrible gut wrenching sobs, and I did too, right along with her.
My friend's kids have been doin their own laundry since they were 6.

I fold laundry while I'm zoned out watching TV.
I don't watch much TV anyway, because I can't stand sitting still doing nothing.
Truly sad when couples air their dirty laundry in public
Please, think of the children!
I would feel sorry for Sh*ri except she is such an obvious whackjob who truly deserves whatever is coming her way. Baby, you know the old saying: What goes around, comes around. Obviously it's coming around back to you in spades!
Tip on Aching Wrists/Target Laundry Detergent!
Okay, I have hesitated sharing this one for a long time now, cause I know, absolutely know, I will get flamed somehow, cause its sort of silly, but its not silly to those of us whose wrists and/or arms are shot from this "career". I have really bad wrists now AND elbows - actually if your wrists hurt, chances are your tendons are aggravated right up to your elbow, too, though the pain might not localize there. At any rate, I also found my wrist would hurt with some "ADLs", mostly laundry. No matter what size of detergent I bought, they were always heavy, and the motion of pouring deturg into the cups really hurt my right wrist. Sometimes I could even hear an audible "pop" on that motion of holding this heavy bottle and pouring. My physical medicine guy said it was the motion of that with the weight on top of typing that wreaked havoc on my wrists, and that even lots of women who don't type have popped their tendons out using laundry detergent! Well, this is SO stupid, but...a few months ago I went to Target and saw their brand "Method" laundry detergent. Its super concentrated and fits 32 loads in a tiny bottle. Plus, its like those mouthwash dispensers where you just hold the bottle upright and squeeze and a tiny bit of the detergent fills in a tiny cup at the top. You fill to the line, which takes all of 1 second, and that's all the detergent you need! Plus, this stuff is awesome with the laundry. Prior to that, only Tide could get my kids clothes clean. This stuff is the BEST, and it smells great! Its about $6 for this bottle, which I would have thought expensive, but the savings on my wrists are priceless! My carpal tunnel and elbow tendonitis have nearly completely healed. It was just this stupid combo of motions that did my wrists in! For those older MTs like me, who've been at this for over 20 years, try it! It might help!! Again, I see a sports med guy, and get injections occasionally. I used to have to wear wrist braces, etc. I was scheduled for surgery until I started using this silly Target laundry detergent! Now, no more pain! Isn't that so weird? But neat?
Laundry. Offered kids $5 a load but they turned it down. Now everyone does their own, except hubby

If you were putting
your pie hole to good use, you wouldn't have time to be on this board participating in such foolishness. How old are you?
Well why do you not like putting it where it goes?!?!
rude!
Ah, so this is putting them down!!??!! LOL!
My Post: I don't know..... I know many MTs making that in a month...but in their jammies, don't have to fuss with the makeup and only have to leave the house to go shopping! Oh, and they still get the write offs.
And sorry about the sobering up comment, I just coulnd't for the life of me figure out what you were looking at. And still can't! Many posters use initials sm/nm for see message or no message - maybe that's why you're getting confused : )
Just as I am putting away $ for my SM
later years (I have no children to depend on) I expected that my mother was. Wrong. I have currently chosen to essentially give up where I want to live, to be with who I want to be, to take care of things for now, but it won't be that way forever.
I am doing it out of obligation right now, but I don't intend to sacrifice the next 10 or so years of my life to keep doing this.
Putting myself out there
Has anyone ever done this...?
I am thinking about making a bunch of copies of my resume and writing a cover letter describing my abilities........then distributing it to different clinics around the area.
I work from home but want a second job as an in-house Transcriptionist to gain some experience and also because I am not making that much money here at home!
Has anyone ever done this? If so, have you had success doing it? How about putting an ad on Craigslist for transcriptionist services?
I don't hate AAMT at all, ks. I don't hate
their book. In fact, I love the BOS2. It is not a regular grammar book at all - there are hundreds of issues in it that are point specific to MTing and medical field. I have dozens of regular grammar books, too, for other purposes, and they are not similar at all. I purchased the BOS2 when out job interviewing for a few months. Every single employer wanted me to have my own company, and they all tested off of it. Several used it in their daily work, and I have found it priceless over all. I think its even on sale now, but $89 is not a lot for a professional tool that we should use if required, or if a newbie. MTs who don't like to buy books are not very wise in the big picture. Its like shooting yourself in the foot.
PS-I don't like putting it over there, but was told had too!nm

My DH was putting together my new desk and he had
gotten to the deep drawer where files go. He put the frame of the drawer together without putting the bottom of the drawer on. Fortunately I happened to walking through the room at this point and told him he has to put the bottom in the grooves on one side before he can finishing putting the drawer together. He tells me that the directions don't say anything about that. I told him common sense dictates that you have to put the bottom before you put the second side on. Poor man. He is very bright, but has zilch common sense. I'm not very book smart, but have been blessed with my share of common sense and then some, so I guess we made a good couple - LOL.
The best way to help is to be supportive by putting
You didn't get pregnant. You sound very self rightous and with I told you so attitude. A decision to carry the pregnancy, terminate it or give up for adoption is not one to be made lightly or out of guilt because someone forced their own opinions down the throat of someone who obviously needs help. Being condescending doesn't bolster her self image to find the courage to live with whatever decision she makes. She needs support, not degradation, not put downs, not made to feel worse than she already does. This is a decision she will live with every day...not one you will have on your mind every day of your life.
Knowledge knows when to speak. Wisdowm knows when to listen.
By putting up with him and his ways
you are just enabling him. Sounds like not only are you doing most of the housework, you're providing most of the financial support. I think he has got it pretty good and as long as you don't give him an ultimatum why should he change. You're young yet and there sure is better out there. I'd cut my loses. I'd rather be alone than with someone like your SO.
Thank you putting another twist on what I am
trying to relay in my post above. Happiness is not bought or paid for. You must have self worth and some people like the fact that they can be an employee and have someone else do the worrying in regards to maintaining the account on the administrative level so to speak. I am not going to go on and on again but I just wanted to thank you for your opinion and taking the time to post...
nothing more then putting your name and email in as we do here
those that joined me, thanks. it was fun to talk in real time.
Agree, but WE are putting up with it...
...remember long ago when PROTEST was effective and alive and well?
There is no need for the powers that be to change anything if WE THE PEOPLE tolerate the abuse.
Peaceful protest is and always WILL BE patriotic.
I would strongly consider putting that
comment into the report. They certainly can't think any less of you and maybe seeing it in print will make them realize the harshness of their words as well as their own stupidity for assuming you are the only MT who types for them. Some dictators have no clue or class.
Keep putting your head in the s/m
sand about the credential. Don't get one, it's your choice. In the meantime, everyone else will get theirs and most of the ads (except for the rinky dinky jobs that pay nothing) will require the CMT and you won't be able to apply.
People will listen to you now because the majority of the people in MT don't have credentials. What will you say when the time comes that most do and you don't?
Thanks for putting the word out...
I knew it was Toth. They seem to prey on new grads and I was within 2 seconds of signing their contract....until I read it! Their contract is completely ridiculous and totally out of line, especially for IC. I really don't know how they stay in business. Maybe you at least got a little experience and can try applying at reputable companies. Good Luck!
Putting things in perspective...
I was talking (actually complaining) about the usual MQ stuff with someone in the office when I noticed they weren't laughing and/or sympathizing with me like they normally do. I asked her if something was wrong and she said she lost a friend. I stupidly thought she meant work-related fighting and said "Another cat fight?" to which she replied "No, my best friend was killed yesterday in Iraq by the roadside bomb." Talk about feeling VERY VERY small....but it put everything back into perspective for me. I am so fortunate in so many ways...
That is just it, I am not putting pressure on him at all and support him,
but deep inside I am heartbroken and won't let him know it.
yep - sure do - I love putting the voice with..sm
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE!!! *lol* - I'm rarely disappointed in how they do look though......
If you accept that, you ARE putting yourself *on sale*. (nm)

we aren't even putting periods after...
Dr. or M.D. they have just given up on that here. i think the use of a period after dr is justified. we get paid hourly so it doesn't matter for us.
Not only that, but the poster is putting this man in a pool sm
with every single person who does MT transcription in India. That's kind of like being mad at every single driver on the road when you've lost a loved one to a drunk driver.
I am just sick and tired of the intolerance in this country and the I-am-better-than-you attitude because these people are of a different origin. No wonder there is no world peace. It starts small. If you continue to think small then big problems in our society will never be solved.
to who posted about putting keyboard in your lap,
thanks for taking the time to share that. I've been MTing over 30 yr and just in the las few have had trouble with the carpal t. syndrome stuff. I thought i always had good ergo posture, etc, but when i have had a persistent pain in the one arm, i tried your idea and it seems to be helping. I use a board under the keyboard tho as it feels better to me that way. I've learned so much from people sharing on this board, and thank you for your input!
You're putting your SS# on your resume?
xx
Outstanding post! Thanks for putting on here what I was trying to keep inside myself (sm)
This brought back a lot of memories from 3 years ago...everything you said is absolutely right on the money! Anyone who's been abused will know that.
Bless your heart and ((((HUGS)))) for posting what I couldn't at the moment!!!
