I've got it really bad, but mine is from the &$@#($@#
ESL dictators that also mumble. Out of 28 reports today I've had 27 of these reports.
Got mine on Amazon too. I've really liked it... will have to look around too then. nm

I've scheduled mine too (sm)
On my authorization letter to test it said CTMC and so I registered for test C on the Prometric site. I paid $150 with the current discount. Hopefully that is all that is necessary for you too. Good luck getting it figured out and good luck on the test. Mine is scheduled for December 11th! :)
Well, I've never changed mine and
don't plan to, so it should always be me!
Your letter could've been mine ---
Two applications to 'brick & mortar' hosp. MT depts. that ARE HIRING, and yet no response, not even an email. I think age descrimination is playing a role here.
I've had mine since 2001 and it is the best - sm
Seeing as I spend so much time in this chair, comfort equals production. I paid $450 for it from a local Herman Miller furniture dealer. They had it as a demo during one of the office furniture shows.
It has a 12-year warranty and when I needed my hydraulic cylinder replaced, they came to my home, fixed it on site and even replaced the seat webbing so the chair was just like new once again.
For all the money I had spent in the past on chairs I had to replace once a year and sometimes more, I figured I'm getting a good return on my investment.
Check ebay or other places on the web to see if you can find it at a more reasonable price.

I just work for mine. MT is the closest I've come to SM
good return on my time, and I know that's not true for everybody.
Don't want to insult you, but -- why not just work for your money?
Well I've ordered mine! I'm so excited! nm

Keystrokes Definitions for EXText
Control A
Allows you to edit the copy (CC) list. We don’t use this usually in this capacity as the CCs are predetermined by the attending physician’s profile. However, if the dictating physician wants a physician added and you don’t know how to spell the name, you can Control A and enter the 1st letter of the last name plus a question mark i.e., A?. Al the physician’s with A as the beginning of the last name will come up. I use this quite often to confirm spelling of physician names.
Control B
Bold
Control C
Copy. You can highlight any text in any document and Control C to import it to a new document or duplicate it in an existing document.
Control F
Opens Word’s Find screen, which allows you to search the document for text, formatting, special characters, etc. You may also access Find and Replace from this screen.
Control G
This allows you to change the routing for the report, which has been set up by the profile. For example, when you leave a report for review, you would Control G and remove all the routing with the exception of Transcription Department. That would allow it to print only here and nowhere else until we have completed the report. Once you have printed the report with the new routing, the default routing reappears.
Control H
Puts a document on hold. If you were transcribing a report and could not quite understand the physician’s H&P, you can Control H and then search for another H&P by that same physician to review.
Control J
Brings the TES screen up. This comes in handy when you are typing a report, choose a date of transcription from the list of dates, and then find that the dictation is for another date. Control J will bring up the TES screen, you then place a ? mark in the visit box and all of the visit dates for that patient will be displayed. You can then select the correct visit date for which the physician is dictating.
Control N
Saves, spell checks, and distributes documents.
Control O
Opens a document that has been put on hold.
Control P
Pause session.
Control Q
Exits ExText without saving the document.
Page 13
Control R
Brings up any normals established for the client from which you may choose.
Control S
Search for a document.
Control T
Cancels document without saving it. Sends voice back to pool.
Control V
Pastes any copied material to where you want it to go.
Control W
Changes worktype. When the TES screen comes up as an H&P and the doctor begins his dictation by saying he is typing an OP or Consult, you can make the change on this screen. However, if the doctor does not say anything about the work type and you begin typing, and then realize that the H&P is actually a consult, then you can Control W and it will bring up a list of templates. You identify the one you want, click on it, and it will import it into your document. This will also change your footer to be the correct work type. Remember to delete the original template from the document you are typing.
Control X
Allows you to cut something from one place and place in another place. Unlike Control C, it does not duplicate the material, just moves the original.
I've had mine on here with many kinds of software. Don't think it will be a problem. nm

Unbelievable how people have different definitions of the exact same thing
You said, "I just wanted to isolate myself at home on evenings and weekends".
A "social butterfly type" wouldn't have made that observation about herself. You made a decision to isolate yourself, which you of course have every right to do because most of us here do the same thing.
I've worn mine working for a year and haven't had a problem. .sm
I even still handle floppy disks all the time. The magnets aren't that strong.
Mine are in year-round thank goodness! They've started their new year 2 months ago.

Funny! Mine is almost as large, and I don't mind cleaning mine!
It's no problem at all. Besides, I'll take lots of oodles of square footage any day of the week over living in a sardine can!
I use EXText with my current job and I've used at a couple of other jobs I've had. I've ne
used DocQscribe, but I have used Meditech, Cerner, Vianeta, the Precyse platform (I can't remember the name), Dolbey, and Lanier platform I think was called Cequence (?).
Out of all the different platforms I have typed on, I have liked EXText the best. In my opinion, it's very user friendly, easy to learn, and I really like ESP which is the built in abbreviation expander. Plus it is very easy to create your own normals which I love. My fingers literally never leave the keyboard because there are macro keys for everything. You can use your mouse if you prefer or learn the function macros. I love it. I think I'm more productive on EXText than with any other platform.
Mine isn't like that. Mine is 2. All are programmed different.

As you can already see, you've come to the wrong board! By using the word professional, you've
excluded about 99% of the population of "whatever" it is that hangs on these boards. Certainly not professional for sure! But you sure are doing a good thing for someone! Its the thought that counts. Sorry you met the dregs right at the start.

If you're supposed to be paid a certain $/line, that's what you should be getting no matter how they do billing unless of course it's specified in YOUR contract with THEM.
BTW, I've never caught a company cheating me ever.
I've used it. It's the worst piece of crap I've ever seen.

quality and quantity, I'd say go ahead and ask. Otherwise I'd say annually... good luck
I've seen the same every place I've done acute care, and
pointing out dangerous or repeated errors (often in normals for goodness sakes!) never got the result I expected. When I would press the issue, supervisors said if the dictators didn't complain, then the mistakes must not matter!
It didn't matter if the MT changed what had been a cardiac med in the beginning of the report to an antifungal by the end - I kid you NOT! One poor girl used facial for fascial and fascial for facial!
I've used a few expanders, and of those I've used, all must be "coded" to get things lik
One thing I do to get around this, is to create a macro and then link the ShortHand command to the macro. It works for me, but I do the same five clients every day and only have about 20 or 30 macros/Shorthand commands that work like this. This may not work well for you if you have lots of formats and hundreds of docs.
I've been doing this doc for many years, so I've learned how to function with him. sm
I can tell what's a stutter, what's another word, what's just an "uh." Years of experience will get you through a lot.
Wouldn't want to do his charts all day, of course, but a few per day aren't bad. I haven't had to send his to review in a long time, but they do take a little longer to shuffle through.
I've worn contacts for 30 years. I've had both
hard and soft. My vision is much better with the soft ones than they were with the hard ones. When I first started trying contacts soft ones were still new and they couldn't get me to 20/20, so I went to hard. Hard were okay until my eyes started changing shape and then I could no longer wear hard ones. The soft should give you better vision as they conform more to the shape of your eye.
I've been a bully; I've been bullied.
I used to sell a lot on eBay. There are some people who buy high-priced items and play games with you. I've had to call them repeatedly, report them to different agencies. It's not fun. You put time and money into the business of selling, and there are people out there who live to manipulate the system and cause trouble.
And, I've been bullied by buyers who made unreasonable demands, insist that they pay by check when you clearly state you don't accept them. It's not fun, and is one of the reasons I don't sell anymore. People!
I've also bought from some sellers who I would not deal with again because of their unprofessional attitude.
But, overall, ebay can be a great place to be.
I've become the man I've always wanted to marry.
I live alone, am 46, never married, no kids, just dogs horses and chickens and just got done building a new house out in the boonies away from the rat race. (Used to live in Manhattan) Couldn't be happier. Selfish maybe, but never out of time, never stressed, and I don't take anything out on others. There's something to be said for being alone but not lonely. I'm not looking for a man to "make me complete." They only sap me of my time, energy and money (how little of it there is with MQ). I consider myself lucky getting to choose my time with friends, and not just stuck with a deadbeat partner. Ladies especially: Be strong and allow yourself to be independent. Any old man will not make you stronger!
You know I've done the grilling...I've tried it all...
And I find the best way to cook steak is in a good quality thick-bottom nonstick pan on top of the stove. I found this trick on the internet. I heat the pan on high and when nice and hot, throw on the steak, no butter and no oil. It browns almost immediately, cooks fairly quickly, and seals in the juices - tender, moist and delicious!!!! It doesn't even need seasoning but salt and pepper before cooking. ;)
I've not only typed, them, I've had a few, myself! LOL

Mine are 10, 7, and 4.....sm
I get up early and get my work done by noon. If I have more that needs done I do it late at night after they go to bed. I have a very flexible schedule, so as long as the work is back in 24 hours it doesnt matter when I do it. Mine are all girls, so they play really nice together. My 10-year-old is pretty good at keeping the 4-year-old playing. When the two older ones are is school, my 4-year-old is pretty good at playing with her toys, computer or books until I am done. I stop occasionally to read to her or play with her, but I am usually done everyday at noon. For me personally, I would never use daycare. I would try to make it work with the little ones at home. I used to work in a very demanding hospital job doing insurance and billing. When I started work at home I knew I would never see another day care again! Good luck to you and hope you can find a way to get the little ones to stay at home with you!

accounts. I'm sure there must be others. Our experience has been that there are still plenty of doctors/healthcare facilities who appreciate quality. Yes, many simply want to save money. Thankfully, some know money is not the most important factor.
Mine did for me
I worked for a company (not MQ) that used DQS and I only have dial-up available to me. I connect at 50.6 Kbps almost all of the time and never had a problem. Once the first dictation loaded, which took less than a minute, the rest would upload in the background while I was working so I never had to wait. Sound quality was always very good, but of course that can depend on your account.
I currently am working on the InScribe platform for a different company and it takes a little over a minute most of the time for my first dictation to load (so it is a little slower than DQS was for me) but after that there is no waiting, just like on DQS.
I have a really reliable ISP so very rarely get disconnects, etc.
HTH. :)
that's how I do mine, too...and they are
