I'm still pondering....

Thanks.  If I'm offered the job, I don't know exactly what I'll do.  I had heard a lot of people don't like e-scription, but it seems that it may be the way this field is going.  Twice the work out of the same person; I can see why the employers like it!!!  Don't know if I will....

Still pondering this issue...
Still pondering this issue -- went to investigate on Paypal and in their "fee" table (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside)these items that may be why you're getting a fee taken out: “If you receive payments funded by Credit Card, Debit Card or Buyer Credit” - It then states fees to "receive payment are 4.9% + $0.30 USD." Then it does say at the bottom of the table that "** Personal accounts may not receive payments funded by credit card, debit card or Buyer Credit for ebay or eBay Express transactions without upgrading to Premier or Business accounts." Could your MTSO be paying via credit card or debit card etc? That's all because of their setup then, not yours. If all else fails I would refuse payment via paypal then and just ask for them to send a check. You have a right not to use any online service to receive money. They could be evil and "penalize" you and delay sending checks, but at least you'd get all that you're entitled to. I think this is very confusing. I also think your MTSO should be more concerned about you getting paid ethically, even though Paypal is easy to use, but that's not fair to stiff you with these fees. I would never do that. We have three transcriptionists that don't want to use paypal to get paid, we just happily send them a check instead. Again, just me--am thinking about your situation. Please post or reply by email and let us know how this works out for you.
