I work for this group of radiologists and proof/edit every report they dictate. All the transcriptionists that work this account know I am doing this, so sometimes I do feel that they are not as careful as they would (hopefully) otherwise be. As it is right now I correct roughly 20+% of the reports everyday. Granted most of the time it is just a misspelled word, but some are truly frightening, and I have to wonder how patient care would be affected with no one reading each of these reports. Sadly enough when I was in the hospital last summer and had a CT, it came back with multiple typos, as well as an addendum to another patients report typed on it.
