FILL OUT THE FASA-YOU WILL BE SUPRISED
Make sure you fill out those FASA forms and private colleges want the Profile which helps. When my daughter was applying three years ago to college. I told her that she would have to take out student loans. She was looking into college at 40,000 a year. We filled out the FASA and profile. She is now going to a $35,000 a year college and we are only responsible for $13,000. She is on grants and scholarships. She still is taking out loans because she is a nursing student and her income will be greater than mine and my husband together. My 18 year old who is looking in colleges will have to do the same. I put braces on their teeth, paid for dancing, sports, activities, illnesses that we did not expect. I feel we gave them everything they needed and if they want to go college bad enough they will. My daughter has a 4.0 GPA. She had a 3.4 in High School We are there to support, we pay for car repairs, give her money for clothes etc. She is also on workstudy which gives her $50.00 a week spending money. Don't let the college tuitions scare you until you fill out those forms.
I think you'd be suprised at how many "administrators" have no idea there is/was an AAMT S
and if they were aware, they could care less what they had to say. I've spent the majority of my career working for hospitals and spent the last few years before coming home to work as a supervisor working closely with the Director of my HIM department who didn't have a clue what the AAMT was. I've never conformed to the AAMT BOS and I never will. Doctors don't care if space once or twice after a period. They don't care if we spell one or type 1. They just want what they said typed neatly, coherently, and on the chart ASAP. That's it. All the other crap that the AAMT is putting out there in their $80+ book is just that, CRAP. Right now, they have a monopoly on the industry and you better believe they know it - why else would the change the rules and expect us all to buy their book.
They don't care about us. What have they done for us exactly? Charged us $300 for a certification test that is basically worthless, charged us $80 for a book of rules that make no sense, charged us $100 a year for a membership for basically a subsription to a newsletter, the purpose of which I have yet to figure out.
Do they fight for the MT to be paid a better wage? Do they fight for the American based MT jobs to stay in America where they belong? Do they offer the IC-MT a discounted rate of health insurance or short-term disability insurance? Do they help us at all?
No they don't! People like you, discouraging anyone trying to make a difference, are the reason the the MT industry is dying.
I say go for it. Email me too, I'm in.
They had to remove "American"
from their name because it's no longer an American association - but where is the integrity the claim?
Any domestic "American made car"
That is the way it is!
"American" Association - yet they are encouraging outsourcing?
