I'm not alone

I thank my lucky stars every day that Grandma and Grandpa are just around the corner, with Auntie just up the road. My oldest is 9 and has Juvenile Diabetes - I have had to run to the school for so many emergencies (she would sneak candy or throw away her lunch and not eat because she wasn't hungry!) that if I worked a standard job I'd have been fired by now. I know they aren't supposed to for family emergencies but they find a way! I am a single mother of 2 and my youngest is now 7 months. I have worked at home since I was laid off last year at 8 months pregnant. No one wanted to hire me at that late in my pregnancy so I was basically screwed. One of my doctors that I used to do per diem work hired me part time and I haven't looked back since!! I've gotten other jobs and such but if I didn't have my parents and sister to help me with the kids I'd never have gotten a good job as MT - and I would probably be out on the streets - or worse.
I really feel for those trying to stay at home every day with little ones and no one to turn to. Sometimes I can leave my son to play on his own, while sister is in school, and work with one ear on the work and one on the baby, but not often enough. Especially during the learning curve you just can't concentrate on both!
I just had to vent that I'm so glad I'm not the only person to brave these treacherous waves! So many have told me to give up, but I'm ecstatic that I didn't and it has paid off tenfold!!
