Why, yes, yes I am! If you don't like my company, please move on! This company has been in business for many, many years and I intend to keep it that way. None of you little peon transcriptionists can do anything to change that. I want only positive and productive transcriptionists working for me, and sorry honey, but you do not fall into that category. If I am such a bad, bad man, then why I ask, do you take my money every 2 weeks in your paycheck? Good golly ladies, get a life and leave my company alone. I do have lots and lots of competitors out there so go see how happy you are with them, but I will tell you right now this door only swings one way so don't come crawling back a cryin' saying you had it too good here - as the saying goes, "you don't know what you got til it's gone." For some, I understand that it will take you leaving to find that out and to that end, I say good riddens, adios amiogos, farewell, and goodbye.

Congratulations on the offer!!!
I really understand your predicament. Let me share with you something my aunt shared with me a few years ago.
She worked as a large company and was offered a promotion that came with a yearly salary as opposed to hourly wages. It looked like a very decent raise, and so she took the offer.
She said it was a very large mistake on her part. She was literally on-call 24/7, including weekends, holidays, vacation, etc. She was contacted at all hours day and night if there were a problem or concern. If staff was short due to call offs, she was expected to go in (even on holidays or her days off) to fill the void. If she tried to go on vacation, she had to leave contact information in case she was needed (and she was very frequently contacted about problems or with questions when she was supposedly on vacation).
I went to work for the same company several years later. I was quickly promoted, and my aunt told me to accept all of the offers of promotion I received UNLESS it comes with an annual salary rather than hourly pay. She said once she accepted the annual salary position, her life was not her own any longer, the company owned her 24/7 and 365. I always kept that in mind whenever I was offered a salaried position, whether by that particular company or any other company.
The job offer sounds wonderful, but if you can make that same amount of money now, and even more if you increase your hours with your current IC position, I'd suggest you give serious consideration to what sacrifices you may be required to make should you decide to accept the offer. As another poster said, sometimes it's not always good to rock the applecart unless you absolutely have to.
Good luck with your decision, whatever it may be, and keep us posted. If you do accept the other offer, I hope it turns out to a great decision for you.

It is not that I am that "great". I learned that the only way to make money int his field is to have your own clients.

I am a former dental assistant. I worked for a dentist for seven years, and we made sure that people knew that nerve damage could occur. I have seen a couple of these cases, and they all regained the feeling eventually. As far as time frame, unfortunately everyone is different.

I'm not sure about ulcers becoming cancerous, although I would think so. But wisdom teeth can become a chronic problem with infection, bite problems, etc. Go to an oral surgeon.He can put you under and you won't even know it's happening. The next thing you know you'll be in the recovery area and it will be all over.

My 20 year old daughter had her wisdom teeth out on Friday. She went to have the stitches out and told the dentist that she has no feeling in part of her lip. The dentist says it is rare but it may never come back. He said that you can go to Boston or New York to reconnect the nerve which is a lengthy process and has to be done in 2 months. She is in college (a little hard to do). I keep telling her to give it more time, it has only been 5 days maybe it will get better. She is hysterical over this. Has anyone else run into this with wisdom teeth.

It's a test in progress to measure what MTs know and what type of test to give for the SM
different levels of MTs. It's over $90. That's a lot of money to pay to someone who is giving these tests for research as to what type of testing should be done for the different levels of MT. The AAMT will probably take the results and make a test that they can give in India or the Phillipines or some other foreign country.

Don't think that has to do with the knee. How about "bucket handle tear" of the knee? Never heard of Neer having anything to do with the knee.

edition). I never buy drug books anymore. Waist of money in my opinion. New drugs come out so often, it's best to use the web.

Hello! I gave them 2 weeks worth of work, and they did not send out the checks on time. I got my check 1-1/2 weeks late - and then only because I complained until they sent it via UPS. I can't work for free, or afford to get paid late, so I quit. I would test for ProScript if they are hiring currently - they are a GREAT company to work for : )

Laura, I just tested for this company and was hired, but had to defer due to unexpected health problems with my mom. I told them I would be calling them back in about 3-5 weeks. I am skeptical now?? They appeared to be a great company? Did you only work for them 2 weeks?? Curious for more information.

Hello. Well, I didn't mean to make you nervous, but that really upset me that they did not pay on time. The lady that hired me said it was due to some error with getting the paperwork in - in their defense I will say that maybe it doesn't happen all the time, as she said, and that was a one time thing. At any rate, I chose not to take the chance that it might happen again; so, yes, I only worked for them for 2 weeks. Maybe someone that worked for them longer could tell you if that ever happens to them. There are a few companies out there that do not pay on time - I just wasn't willing to take the chance on them since it happened with my very first check. I sure hope it works out for you! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am glad I took the time to read this message board. I just applied at Diskriter, tested and was offered a job. She said they had 5 positions open, now I know why. Does not sound like a company I want to work for. On another note, your complaints about putting D.O. instead of M.D. is really important. The doctor has worked hard for that title, we were told to make sure you have it RIGHT!

I worked for Diskriter for 4-1/2 years. I do not remember having a background check done. In fact, in the years that I have worked remotely, none of my references have been called, (I have asked my references). Things may have changed......

I have 20+ years experience as a MT and looking for a company that has a Transcriptionist friendly working platform and great pay. Not a user friendly platform at all. I worked for them for about 2 weeks and called it quits!! I had to copy/paste demo information, ran out of work all the time, etc. It might be different for each account, but the one that I had was terrible. I asked for additional accounts, which they tell you, you will have a secondary account, but I did not get one. Good luck!! I work for JLG and love their platform. They just recently stopped direct deposit and the checks are mailed now, which is the only complaint that I have.

They told me to work the weekend one time because they were "soooo behind and the client was getting angry." I woke up at 5 a.m. on a Saturday morning and sat until 8:30 and waited and waited and waited. Finally a report came up. I worked until 12:30 p.m. and couldn't stand it anymore. I made a whopping $12.00.

They just started allowing PT weekend only as an option. Their platform is easy to use. Line rate isn't to bad either because you get more for if you are hired as a weekend only MT.

Hello! This is my first time to post here on MTstars. I have accepted a position with Diskriter and should be receiving my equipment next week. I just found out about MTstars and I wish I would have found it before. I am currently employed elsewhere right now and need to make more money. I feel like I am typing my fingers to the bone for 8 hours or longer and at the end of my shift only end up with 750 lines, when I need at least 1500 lines per shift or more. I have been transcribing for about 3 years and the first job I had, I could hit 1500 lines, no problem, during my shift. The problem with my current job is that we run out of work (but get paid for standby). I love my insurance and need to keep it. I plan on working both jobs and have absolutley no idea if I will be able to keep up with my family and their activities. I am strongwilled and determined to make money in this business. Not to ramble on......

Diskriter questions
Anyone who works for Diskriter. How flexible are they with schedules? I am asking because I work full-time inhouse right now and work every third weekend. On that weekend I get Friday off or another day if I need it. How flexible are they with their part-time hours? I want to get as much information about this as I can before I get myself into something that is not good. I have never worked from home before other than on cassettes and am still getting used to all the lingo for at home transcription. Please anyone with good intentions only. I am doing this as a second job and really want to make sure it works out.

I have never been asked when applying for a service. If the question is not asked, then there must not be a prohibition on felons.

received equipment new to diskriter and to chartscript
I just received my pc and extras from Diskriter yesterday, after a lengthy wait, really ready to get going; however, they also sent a complex Chartscript book and I've never used this platform before. Anyone have any quick notes they can share or can you let me know if it is difficult to learn. Thank you in advance.
