I'm getting another flashdrive and guessing who is on it

Okay, last Thanksgiving weekend, my new doctor gave me a flashdrive and I did all the patients, and then she told me nine of them had been done, how did I want to handle that? You all were very kind in giving advice. This was after a girl walked away and left them not knowing up or down on who is done and who is not.
Today, she called me and asked me questions about dates and patients. She said she is busy and doesn't really have time to see what is actually on the flashdrives. We're meeting in the morning and she is going to give me another one (or two or three). Should I volunteer to listen and make a patient list, or should I tell her I will type all the patients and expect to be paid for them. I don't want to spend my time listening and not getting paid, honestly. But then I want to try and hold onto this job, having just got laid off from an office with more than one physician (thanks to Cbay). You guys are experts and thank you.

Do you have a flashdrive???
Recently, my company set up administrative logons and employee logons. Now, we can't do squat. I back my glossaries up religiously and needed to back them up. I took my flash drive, disabled the automatic install/load, and put it in my work computer. That way, it wouldn't try to install and get cut off because I'm not the administrator. Then, I located my IT folder, right clicked and sent to my flash drive. If you just need your glossary, just do that glossary the same way. I then put my flash drive in my computer and transferred the IT folder to C:.
You might be getting stuck on the .exe. Even Google won't allow .exe to be e-mailed. Try zipping it all up and e-mailing it if you must use e-mail.
flashdrive
She emails the reports, so she doesn't save them to the drive.
Flashdrive question versus Windows Media Player
There are 32 files on this flashdrive. I use a Stop/Start pedal. In using my pedal, I have done all of the files but four. Four of the 32 files show a length of about one hour each, but you cannot hear anything. However, if you open this up in Windows Media Player, you can hear him talking. What do I need to do about this? I can't type using Windows Media without my pedal, and why do you think I can't hear just four of the 32 files with my Start Stop pedal? This is a new thing for me and please pardon my ignorance, but I could really use your advice as soon as possible. You can email me and thank you kindly. Lisa
Of course, I am only guessing
But it really sounds as if they think it is a cyst. Not even a mention of CA or mets. The lung nodule is most likely nothing, did they send him to a pulmonary specialist. Try not to worry .
guessing
Yeah! Leave the guessing to the QAs!
Just guessing, but I think you would
have to reformat your hard drive and install XP from scratch.
I'm guessing
you would go into My Computer somewhere. Maybe you could do a power save search and see what comes up in Help.
If I remember right, I had the same issue with my old lap top, but I don't know now what I did to change it.
I would think this would lead to a lot of guessing.
You cannot type in what you cannot hear.
I'm guessing companies don't want to pay
for that experience - cheaper to pay someone with less experience. JMO
Guessing editors
This drives me crazy. We got an e-mail awhile back that said if the doctor does not dictate the account number or DOS then to send the job to editing. Well this one editor, who I've already called out for being incredibly rude and unprofessional, continues to type, DOS must be filled in if it's not filled in then use date of dictation. Like heck I will! If the demographics show only date of admission and it's say 04/05 and today is 04/23 BUT in the report it says the patient was sent home on postop day 4 or it says they have a followup appt on 04/12 then they obviously weren't discharged TODAY!! I've got a couple editors that guess on a horrible dictator based on his samples and that drives me nuts too. Whatever happened to professional pride?
Guessing or mistake?
What is annoying about this is that the QA is making an assumption that you guessed rather than just made an honest mistake. Either way, it's a mistake. She should have kept mouth shut and not tried to analyze why the mistake might have been made. If it were me, I'd wait til I cooled off and then e-mail her, telling her that I did NOT guess and never do guess, but simply made an honest mistake.
Yes, that's a prime example of guessing when you can't

Not sure, but I'm guessing the unreliability of the connection too.
I have satellite TV, only because cable hasn't been stretched this far yet..:0 - I'll sure be going back to cable if it ever gets here..
I have a phone line though, so that means DSL is available for my internet, although I guess not even everybody can get that either.
You must either get really easy doctors or you're guessing and
Don't believe it.
I'm guessing you are talking about a specific company here
because it's definately not like that where I work...
I don't get paid for headers and footers, but I don't have to type them and they aren't deducted from my pay either. And I didn't have to wait six weeks to get paid...only two.
good one! actually you are guessing and splitting hairs and still come out loser.
you jumped in on this "I win" game with your "higer education" and "degree".
Frankly dear poster, you depress me. I hate the idea that anyone like you is in the same profession as I am. Amazing too. What with your degree and all. You'd think a person with your "intellect" would be posting on mensa board or something. hee.
bwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhaaaa
No. As another poster said, it encourages guessing, which is completely counter-procuctive to the g
makes for low morale within a company.
In her case, I'm guessing personality or mental disorder. After all, they are pretty common. NM

I WASN'T GUESSING. I HEARD WHAT I HEARD VERY CLEARLY.
I don't even agree with what QA said, but they are QA. Question them, and your out the door.
