push mowing 3 acres is probably great exercise, but it must be a bit time consuming. I used to cut 1.3 acres and it would take about 60-90 minutes on a riding mower, and that is with a house and pool in the way; can't imagine how long it takes to push mow 3 acres.

This is totally not MT related, but...here goes; my D(ang) husband just called me and told me that his very good friend's (married man) friend (female...not his wife) just called my DH's cell phone looking for said MARRIED friend...
These 2 (friend and female caller) met this weekend at a local restaurant; he got too drunk to drive home (how attractive, right?), so she drove him home. Evidently, the friend gave the female his cell # PLUS MY DH'S cell # too! So this morning, she calls my husband looking for his so-called friend! I want this person's (I can't stand calling her a woman, much less a lady) number so I can call her and inform her that she better not EVER call my husband back looking for his MARRIED *friend*...but my husband won't give it to me!!! 
Another thing...I am dying to call this *friend's* wife, as she and I are somewhat friends...(we've been to their kid's bday parties, her bday party, etc..., but we don't talk on a regular basis...) Give me some advice please...am I wrong for being so upset that he won't give me this #...I know when he gets home, it'll be deleted off his phone and I won't see the bill...his work pays for the phone! Help me please!!!

Don't take anything for granted
There are unscrupulous people everywhere, including in the MT field. Just because they are MTs does not make them honest people. Things always come in to play, like jealousy, etc. I am always on my guard, as I have had others try to undermine my work, although not in this field, but attempted to get me fired because I would not join their team of trying to get the boss fired. It backfired on them, and they are still in litigation for purchases they made on company funds, but mark my words, if you think it is happening, it probably is. A duck is a duck. Talk to the "owner" of the company...no one in between. You have no idea who is doing this. Trust no one. (sorry to feel that way, but experience talks). Good luck.

pay your taxes on the amount after your write-offs/deductions. That's how our regular taxes work, and how SE tax works. I would presume a paid salary to someone is an expense and therefore can be written off, otherwise the government is getting double taxes (taxing you and the IC) on the same money. If they did that there would be no deficit and a lot of angry people.
I made my best money doing ER. Granted,
I got 13 cpl. But the doctors said the same things over and over and there were I think only 6 or 7 ER doctors for that hospital. I worked 4 hours a day, 7 days a week, and made $1000 a week. Loved it!
T-chart changed all that. 
They better have SE because no way is my insurance riding on the BS they pull with no work all the
time. They can hang you out to dry with that 12,000 line deal unless you work 24/7 lately. No way does my health insurance ride of that deal.

I made a whole $12K this year, granted when my daughter got cancer in March - sm
my income took a big hit as I went "on leave" from my FT job, and cut back on my PT job drastically. I did not get back to working a more normal schedule until October. I now work 2 PT jobs. So had I not had a 6 month hit in the pocket book I expect I would have made over $20K this year, not a fortune. My goal for 2006 is $24K, and as I am going to try my best to "work smart", I should be able to acheive that, staying disciplined is the key, of which I am sorely lacking. I am lucky that I don't have to live on this though, I'd be starving. As it is I have to play catch up on a lot of bills since I lost 6+ months of income, not fun.

first rule in riding school was: Learn how to fall...
no really. learn to tuck and curl up, and roll if you get bucked or thrown off. never ride alone.
horses sense fear; if you show it, or your voice even has one iota of fear in in, forget it, your horse will take control over YOU and have you doing what he/she wants.
use simple commands with a confident strong voice. show the horse respect and the horse will also respect you.
try bareback; it really gives you a chance to 'bond.' do you own the horse or are you just riding a different horse each time at a stable?
you need a relationship with the animal as well. groom them, show them affection, but NEVER let them have the upper hand.
when I first got my horse she used to throw me all the time. she would even throw her head so far back it would almost hit me. no one would ride her but me, but after a lot of time and patience (think of them as a 2-year-old child) they will come around. they need to trust you...
by all means, you must get right back on, if they do throw you or 'spook.' my sister had an ex-race horse, thoroughbred, who spooked at his own shadow, literally. I never did warm up to him, but he was like a one-person horse...

My favorite moment on a soap was years ago when Hope was marrying someone else and Bo came up riding
on his motorcycle to break up the wedding and take her away. I always thought that was the most romantic thing in the world! My favorite was the Christmas episodes when Mrs. Horton would put up the Christmas tree bulbs of all of the family members and it was basically like reliving the old episodes.
Ditto....granted I am not working much these days, but am currently trying out a new way of working
when I do work which seems to be helping. I am timing myself and keeping a log of how long it takes to to type however many minutes. I am averaging anywhere from 13-18 minutes of dictation an hour now doing this. Granted the time fluctuates between who I am typing, and if I have to look up names, addresses, etc., just depends on the division I am doing at the time. But work that used to take me 3 hours to do is now taking me under 2 hours, I am also trying to put in more macros as I go along, which slows me down initially but pays off in the long run of course. I was working "all the time" before but took forever to get done since I was not applying myself. This new "attitude" has helped me a lot. My goal, in the Fall, is to do 90 minutes a day consistently at 6 hours, and then maybe get up to 120 minutes a day at 8 hours, still while having at least half of the day free (do 60 minutes at night, and the other 60 by Noon). Thereby doing 1200-1400 lines a day. I have never really buckled down and done more than 8000 lines per pay period, so it will be a nice change. Maybe you can do something like that and have a specific knock off time as was suggested below.

After I was able to get the links to show up again, I then saved the page in "Favorites" (deleted my old link that was there) and now when I click on it from my favorites, the links are continuing to show up on the left side/blue area - so far. LOL. We will see if this lasts now. :D

I tried voting for Chris on Tuesday night and I could NOT get through at all! I honestly believe that they did not want to send Katherine home because that has the potential of losing the male audience! How many guys sit around and want to watch 3 guys sing? I truly, in my heart and soul, think the entire thing is bogus. Although, he is really and truly talented and I think he will definitely be selling records in the near future, which I will gladly buy!!!!! JMO HE SHOULD HAVE WON IT ALL!!!!

It was on my kids computer; not mine. My daughter was playing a game, and the letter keys wouldn't work. It's a Logitech Cordless (cheapo) and I downloaded software from the site, and then my son pulled the plug on the optical eye, plugged it back in, and it now works! Thanks.... Everyone!!!!
OE problem fixed!
Just wanted to let you know that I just did a restore (a quick 10 minute fix) and my OE works fine again! Apparently I had some corrupted files. I was very hesitant on trying this in fear of files I might lose (particularly work ones) but everything appears fine so far.
I am just So upset that I wasted SO many hours trying to fix this!
Here's how I fixed that...not to say it will work for you.
I work as an IC for a large service. I went through the misery for about two weeks after getting a new doctor who was either too lazy or too clueless to give the demographic information needed. I swear that I spent as much or more time looking up old reports if the dictation was for a followup, etc., as I did typing the darn report. I said forget this. Every time he left out the SS#, MR# number, DOB, or did not spell a name, I used my highlighter on the tool bar and typed in "not given". It took him about one week of getting reports back to his office where one of the office staff had to look the info. up or give the report to doctor to fill in missing information. I made him as irritated as he made me. About one week later, and to this day, he very rarely misses any pertinent info. I ran this through the MTSO before I highlighted, and explained to her that when I ran my own service, there is no time or tolerance for doctors who fail to give pertinent information on an important medical record. Any MTSO who pressures you otherwise to waste your precious time on this is not worth working for! Good luck to you!

I don't want to crucify them for making an error. I want the error to be known, noted, and corrected in future editions! I also want to be aware of any other known errors in this publication so I will not bilindly follow the book and make the errors they are providing, considering I have PAID for their PROFESSIONAL guidance!! Is that unreasonable?

Has anybody had any experience with this. We have a company providing this close by. We only have dial-up and satellite has such bad reviews. I am trying to research any possibility.

I looked into this in IL when I lived for a short time in a rural area -- VERY expensive and if you rent, its a hole and mounting "a permanent structure" -- also, you are locked into a contract with that as well and not everyone has radio towers available or in the area -- frankly, the newer cards are a better alternative.
Hey, got it figured and fixed!
I went to the Nuance/Dictaphone web site and looked at their information base and lo and behold, there was the problem and solution. Apparently it's common with Windows XP or 2000 and they recommend a particular file download, DPVoicer1132.exe. I did that and ran it and after rebooting, problem fixed!
Thought maybe an update might help someone doing a search on here in the future.

Fixed wireless works well
If you're talking about tower wireless (like a radiowave wireless type), as long as you have it set up to receive the signal well (requires high enough antenna)then you should have a nice, clean connection.
problem with mail fixed
This morning when we tried to download our messages, nothing downloaded. We tried our WebMail function, and got a "Unidentified Server Error". So we thought attglobal.net was temporarily down. Waited till 10 am, and still the same. We call AttGlobal support, and they got things back. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I just got fixed wireless broadband
And I love it! No lag like satellites. I thought I'd never get broadband since I'm a mile from the nearest house but this is a very nice connection.

I'm using a fixed wireless broadband connection
And so far, so good. The tower is just across the cow field, though. I haven't had any cutting in and out and I feel like a kid with a new toy since I'm able to watch You Tube, etc. now. My provider (SEIdata) came and did a site survey before installing it first and told me I had an excellent signal. They put a small box on my roof and ran cable to my office. I plug into an Ethernet modem and I can WIFI it with a router if I want to, too.
I've heard mixed reviews on the "cards," but I would recommend fixed wireless if you have a provider that does a site survey and installation.

Auto backup has to be fixed through the call-in system
Go under keypad menu, and then fix the auto backup space or through the Transcriptionist ID settings on the setup. Also, the dictation system should have a separate code/key for larger rewind to hit.
