I looked for that video on YouTube and couldn't find it, and was wondering if there is more info. available on its origins, who made it, when the meeting took place, etc. Hayseed - did you find it surfing on YouTube, or did someone send it to you? Was it fairly recent? Did it have a title other than "How not to hire an American?" I think we might've lost one news organization's interest in it because of the difficulty in tracking down more info. regarding it, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can.

What we post, jobs posted, and those who are posting jobs have no way of knowing it is off shore because he is hiding it - what a great way to get more of our jobs - not sure why this does not bother you. But as an American it bothers me
they don't REFUSE to hire new MT's. They REFUSE to hire them at 6-8 cents per line.
mostly because you can now hire experienced MT's at 6-8 cpl. In the near future, you will be able to hire experienced MT's at 5 cpl. Then people will start getting out of this business and new people will stop trying to get in. I had a job opening and asked people to bid what they wanted per line. One very smart young lady was a new grad and bid 3 cpl. I hired her a year and a half ago, she has been terrific! and I was willing to spend my time training her because a) time is money and she saved me money so I could spend my time and b) she had definite potential!. In another six months, she will be the MT with 2 years experience applying for jobs. AND she will get them because she will test well and essentially "bought" her experience. So use Economics 101...

Don't get the video
You pay an extra hundred for that video screen. Do you really think you are going to download and watch videos? and 7500 tunes? But the real reason besides the money is those screens are notorious for cracking and that is not covered under warranty.

Old terminology video
Hello! I was wondering if anyone remembered an old video that was used to train medical terminology. It was in cartoon style....and it taught the breakdown of terminology.....one I remember was gastr....gastruck...stomach.
I was just wondering if anyone was trained on this.

It could be your video card is going bad.
Does it give you any kind of error message when it won't boot up or does it just sit there?
I know just enough to be dangerous, but it sounds like there could be a problem with the mother board.

The prosecutor in Atuba, I believe her name is Carin Janssen, said the father and the two boys can still be rearrested. They did not have enough to hold them but they are still part of the investigation. For any father to tell his son without a body there is no crime, how awful. You get a grip, it is so obvious the boy is involved and the two friends helped him cover it up.

I watched the video with the interview with the Aruban prosecutor, which was on MSNBC videos in the internet..check it out, maybe it is still there. She said the father was arrested for interfering with an investigation by talking to the boys and telling them no body, no crime.

Go to MSN.com, on the left side are all categories for the news. Go down the column till you see videos (or news videos), about three quarters down page. Click on that, a box will come up with a selection of videos to watch. To the left are categories you can pick from. There is also a search box. Type in Aruba in the search box, click on the arrow and all the videos from the case come up. There prosecutor is the blonde lady, about second row of videos. There were two sessions with her. Click on the play button under the video and you will be able to watch the interview with the prosecutor.

Moral of the story: Don't let your puppy play with kids unsupervised. Look into puppy class/puppy kindergarten in your area. Vet's office should be able to tell you where they are. They are fantastic for socializing puppies with other dogs, kids, and adults. Just completed class with my puppy. Sad to think how many good pups have been put down due to behavior of naughty kids/adults too. So happy this worked out for you and your kids.

I didn't like it either, but when I downloaded the video
and relistened, I had to change my opinion. He sounded great. On the video, the fiddler and the background singer are less distracting and you can really hear Taylor sing.

Home Video to computer anyone?
Does anyone know anything about transferring home videos to computer? When I got a digital camera I had to play with the program which came with the camera for a while before I got the hang of it. I now have a digital video camera and trying to get the video to the computer. I think I have a program that edits video but it asks me about a source. All I did so far is plug the camera via USB port to the computer. Oh, the camera did not come with any special program. Any ideas. Thanks.

You can start very slow and not even do all of the basic video
start off every other day doing the video and on opposite days, walk one mile. I also changed my diet to high protein and low fat with lots of fruits and vegies. I lost 50 lbs starting like this and after only 2 months, I was doing the full more difficult video plus doing 5 mile hikes 2 days a week and an 8 mile hike a third day a week. It only took 4 months total to get to where I wanted. At age 36 I was looking better in a 2 piece swim suit than most 20 year olds! You CAN do it! Make your goal getting into shape, not losing weight. You'll be more successful thinking about it like that!

I also saw a video of Hunter Hays when he was older, and I thought it was so weird that there were two boys with the same name that both played accordian. I missed the part on the younger version that said it was an old video... still almost too cute to be true.
It sounds like your video card is getting ready to go out.
If you have an option on your monitor for taking the settings back to the factory default, I'd try that. If it continues, then I'm afraid there's a problem with the monitor itself and you may end up having to get a new one. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've been there. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Hi NYNT - wegmans owns their own chicken farms and this a video from a farm...but
supposedly it is the industry standard on how these animals are treated...you cannot even imagine the cruelty in your imagination.
Wegmans has officially denied it, I believe. I shop there still, but I refuse to buy chicken products/eggs there, and I usually mention it at the checkout whenever they ask if I have found everything...
Obviously, just me not buying those products does not help, but I can live with myself that way...now that I have that knowledge.
Beef, turkey, pork - it is all going on all over the country, wherever you buy it, whoever supplies it to the stores. More and more even the people working at the meat plants say the animals are not even dead when they are cutting them up...it is cheaper not to have to anesthetize them or kill them first.
The animals are filled with chemicals, also, and hormones, etc. Does that have to do with these really tall kids I see lately (smile) just a thought!
If you have a Hancock Fabric store near you, they have a knit ball and video that teaches you how to
knit.
I love to quilt, if there is a quilting store near you that gives lessons, that would be great. Mine gives lessons where you can finish a lap quilt in a day.
Also ceramics is fun.

the workload available; I was told there was lots of OT available b/c the accounts are behind. We will see.

its just that they want to pay you less than minimum wage for the first couple years because you aren't *qualified.* I bet the school didn't mention that. None of them do. Good luck paying off that student loan.

No, even the hospitals don't want to hire new MTs.
Doctors don't want to hire newbies. In office, at home, it doesn't matter. It's not about being a stay at home mommy, as you are so assuming and generalizing yourself. Everyone wants to hire experienced workers, but nobody is willing to train them. As I said, every other industry in the country trains their workers. MT seems to be the only one where people are expected to walk into it knowing everything. It's not an assumption; it's an observation. Just because my experience and observations are different than yours does not make me wrong. You're not the know all, end all to the MT world. I do have business management experience and education, so don't dismiss my observation as lacking just because it doesn't match yours.

I think it took a few days after the recruiter emailed me initially b/c she was busy or something, but after that everything went faster. Maybe you should just call, I don't think they would mind. I don't think you should worry.
I won't hire anyone without them first being willing to test.
