Petty, and no, that's not the word the OP was referring to.

Hey, no more spelling police!
We have spell check!!!! If you spell something wrong, it underlines it in red! WOOOO HOOOOO

yes I know that spelling police...I use my spellchecker --sm
to separate them, but it does not work on this site. geez.
She's not only the spelling police, but now a new nomenclature has
been added ..VOCABULARY COP vojavascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');cabulary cop.
Remember, sweetheart, no spelling police as also
no one else telling you where commas, periods, exclamation points, etc. go. You seem to have caught my drift, regardless of whether I put a comma in or not. Maybe your burn out also extends to your ability to understand what you read?
All the spelling police and "flaming-pirhanas"
.
No spelling police please...meant complaining. Time for bed ; )

I thought spelling out 1-9 has always sm
been the rule? As least it has been with us and I have worked for MQ for 23 years. Also, that is the way I learned it in school!
I thought the same thing
Stating that they should be 18 or even 21 to drive but then is letting her 14-1/2 yo drive. WHAT???????
I thought the same thing ...
I see no problem in it. I agree with your thinking!!! I might even try a pair too. :)
One thing that I thought was...
As an IC, it is actually better to work for more than one company.  As an IC, your income should come from multiple sources.  I don't know how others do it, but myself I am an IC, but I work for 2 companies plus have my own accounts.  My husband has extra taken out of his pay.  We do use an accountant/tax person, but fortunately he's a friend of the family and doesn't charge us an arm and a leg.  It's funny to me also that you mention freedom in the same sentence as full-time.  IC work is neither full-time nor part-time because it's actually a job by job basis just like a plumber or an electrican.  Just something to think about.
Yes, I thought the same thing -sm
Then one day guess what?  MTSO who had been providing me with an unheard of standard of living had up and sold her company without a word to anyone until the ink was dry.  They later turned around and sold it to someone else, who decided we were all making too much money and wanted to cut our line rates.  I left as I saw things unraveling in a big way.  They later dissolved what was left of the company and it is no more.  The point is, I sat fat and happy thinking I was set for years and out of the blue decisions were made I had no inkling of, so you just never know in this business...
I have often thought of the doing the same thing....sm
Thre is a similar place in a nearby town to me. I have given blood at the blood bank before, so that is not the part that concerns me. The part that concerns me is the possibility of picking up an infection or even HIV since the blood is run through a system that has run other blood and is returnd to my body. In blood donation, that does not happen and they use a completely new sharp and system each time. Am I being phobic about this?
Thanks. Thought same thing. sm
The OM is not computer savy. She is going to get her IT person to do this.
She is a fellow MT. I thought it was the right thing to do as many might know her. why?

Oh yeah. I thought the same thing...
unacceptable.  I have grandchildren who know better and act a whole lot more well-mannered at ages 3 and 4.  The docs were laughing and having a good time at making me sick.. I couldn't believe it either.
I thought the same thing!! Then was gonna
look up old posts, but realized I was right, and it also wasn't worth the effort! Great minds thinking alike again! Something way fishy going on with this whole story!
OMG I thought my day was bad you poor thing!
I CANNOT IMAGINE having a snake loose while sitting there trying to type. I wouldnt be able to concentrate. I had a spider jump in my hair once while I was typing and couldnt get it out! LOL It was horrible.
Hahaha! I thought the same thing. He's defintely NOT an MT that's for sure! n/m
x
Oh, I thought it was an automatic thing on computers these days.
Maybe my hubby set ours up to do it; I'm not sure. It would be under START, then PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES, then SYSTEM TOOLS, then choose SYSTEM RESTORE.

Then it would ask you what date you want to restore to.
At the beginning, thought the whole thing had been a dream - thank goodness it wasn't.
nm
That's what I thought too, but I was told the built in thing was compatible with my router. nm

I thought the same thing. Justify the EXTRA MONEY they're keeping
You know full well if the foreign MT was the same price they'd quit looking there too. It's all about the money. Who's he fooling?
I thought there was one to cook in crockpot. Don't have time to do the stove thing today but than

police?
imagine speaking about a topic, and having the police pick out one item and not have a thing to say about the topic itself. Must be interesting to just watch out for those mispelt words, and have nothing else to say. Must work for my old company. Everyone else is wrong - and you say nothing so you cannot be caught lol.
Police scanner going 24/7. Fun! nm

If there is a police report, that should be all they need -sm
I am going though this too right now, was T-bone, other person ran a red light and they were cited. Their insurance has copped to fault but pushing to get me to settle for $350, really don't want to get lawyers involved but fear I may have to. Also wonder if any of our conversations have been recorded, the agent has never said they were though. I have contemplated settlement but have not agreed to it or any figure. Since our last conversation my back/neck pain as become more of an annoyance (its been almost 2 months since the accident now), 2 doctors told me there was nothing they could do and I was fine....muscular injury....now seeing a chiropractor which is helping, so in the meantime I have not done anything about "settling". You have 2 years by the way in most states. So take your time and be careful what you say basically. I have a knot at the back of my neck the size of a small egg that gets worse the more I work, not good, along with stiffness and minor discomfort. It took time to all come out, so with being rear-ended get checked out and don't believe everything they tell you. My 2 doctors I was less than impressed with, one handed out Vicodin like candy (I have taken 4 in 2 months and he tried to give me more when I called him back a week after the accident), the orthopedist said I had a neck curve but it was from the swelling and time would fix it. How much time? A week, a month, 2 years, what? No advice on how to try to heal myself, etc. Needless to say I don't need this crap on top of everything else, but I have lost work, etc. and it is now harder to work, so I am taking a wait and see approach at this point. Good luck in how you handle it.
police department right behind us
Funny thing is the police department is right behind us--they probably hear her--just kidding. Her ex-husband workes on the volunteer fire department housed in the same building as police. He has probably already told them all she is crazy!
Not the grammar police BUT
If you want to be taken seriously, you need to make sure that ALL your written communications, including HERE, are grammatically correct.

wow couldn't you call the police?
there are restrictions all over regarding barking dogs in our state and it doesn't mean just at night. of course i wouldn't want to be enemies with a neighbor who lives that close to me and is ignorant enough to leave the dog barking anyway.  that is so awful.
That should be "can" - typo police. nm

PS: This guy was a police chief, and they were only in their early 30's.

This happened to me once. I saw 2 police cruisers,
a fire truck, and 2 ambulances in front of my house. I ignored it for a while but then my curiosity got the best of me and I went outside. It turned out my husband was in diabetic shock in the car in the driveway after having driven erratically all the way home. Someone reported his driving and the above all responded to our address.
My husband is a police captain.
He has 21 years on the force.  He makes about $40,000.00 a year.  I make less than he does.  We do okay though.  I used to make way more before offshoring ruined this business.
what R U ? The Troll Alert Police?

Get over yourself, Grammar Police - sheesh!
The self-righteousness of the Grammatically-Correct- Nazis out there is unbelievable. Most of us take a quick break from work, dash off a quick post on this forum, and then get back to work. Not only is there little time for proofreading on this board, but in this tiny little box it's nearly impossible. And well-written, effective communication doesn't necessarily have to be the King's English, either. (Read "Huckleberry Finn" someday.)

We all understand that and get the gist of what is meant when someone types a post with misspelled word or a grammatical error in it. Usually those who feel they are above reproach when it comes to errors of any kind are..........MANAGEMENT.
Please ignore the grammar police - I do! They take away from (sm)
the point here. And, perhaps that is the point. We don't know who these oh-so-correct posters are. Perhaps they're management or ceo's. Distracting us with this nonsense won't help our cause. What is important is to get a consensus and, perhaps, write a petition that all who are willing can sign. If we can do this on-line we can each send to whichever newspaper we choose and forward to our congressmen (and women) and senators. Does anyone here know how to set up a blog in which a petition can be drawn up. Let's use our talents (and our significant others' talents) to make this happen. And, yes, there were incidents a couple of years ago when a disgruntled employee overseas threatened to release patient information. There was nothing that could be done as HIPPA does not apply to off shore companies. I find that fact to be interesting and slightly suspect. It brings to mind lobbyists and makes me wonder "why" the HIPPA laws were written in such a manner. There is quite a lot of info here on that incident. Do a search on "release of patient information" or something like that and it will probably rise to the surface! If we all do what lawyers and pundits call "due diligence" (meaning extensive research) and have a forum on which to share this information we can put together a compelling letter and petition. Keep the conversation going and maybe we will find the right people on this website that can do a portion of what needs to be done, and so on.
Don't worry-I'm not the grammar police...(sm)
as you can see from my postings. I type and (talk) very fast and make grammatical errors and typos that I would never allow to be sent out in a document! Communication here is not about perfect punctuation; I believe it should be about open and free discussions about the issues of MT's. Not grammar or punctuation.
There's general, insurance, police, others. nm

I talked with the police about this issue when one of my neighbors
kept trying to befriend my boys. The cop said that 90% of sex offenders are not in the database anyway because they have never been arrested. Those databases create a false sense of security because you think you're safe if nobody is listed in your neighborhood, but you still do not know if someone has the tendency or unreported history of sexual abuse. You have to treat everyone as a suspected child sex offender. They could have been doing it for years but nobody reported it. They could have had a plea bargain and charges reduced or dropped. They could have just never been arrested. We had a recent incident where a guy was driving past the elementary schools and kept trying to grab 11- to 12-year-old boys and force them into his car. The whole city was in an uproar because the police couldn't catch the guy, but he tried three times at three different schools. We suspect he's either moved on to another community or went back into hiding.
OOPS - 'HAVE" been - sorry, typing police

My name isn't involved. They just state that there are complaints of noise coming from that apartment.

I've never had a showdown with anyone over this.

Call the police...the non-emergency number
most communities have noise ordinance laws. If the cops show up enough times they will stop. Trust me, I've done it. I had a neighbor that used to blast music at the wee hours. I tried the *nice neighbor* tactic of asking him not to do that becuase I have a child and we need to sleep, etc. Well, that didn't work. He worked 2nd shift and believed it was his *right* to blast his music whenever he wanted. After I called the cops a few times on him...he stopped, and I haven't heard so much as a peep out of him since!
