AdAware, Spyboy Search & Destroy, and CrapCleaner. All can be downloaded and used for free. I'm not sure which one you were referring to, but I found these ones through computer techie magazines. You need to be careful with CrapCleaner because it can hose your registry settings if you aren't careful. You can turn that option off.
I like Spybot the best because it finds more than the others do, runs faster, and doesn't freeze up or crash if you have other programs going at the same time. You can get these through Download.com or Google for the software maker's website.
