she already knows how to turn on the printer & the fax machine, so who's to say she's not logging on when I'm asleep and sending sensitive information God-knows-where?

I'll be honest.. my 1-year-old watches Blues Clues...sm
She is really good. My husband and I both work nights. She is 'on her own' for about 2 hours... watches 'Bluestock' - an 1.5 hour Blues Clues episode... plays a bit.. I take a break to get her ready for bed and get her in bed... and back to work. It's hard work but who can afford daycare on a transcription salary? I'd be working just to keep her in daycare!
Besides, I don't trust daycare providers and I'd rather her watch TV where I can see her than send her off and not know what is going on.
Neighborhood watches are a good idea in general I think, but...
...how will it help with noise? I suppose it could help with the furniture dumping (since your neighbors would be on the lookout), but do you think it would be helpful with the noise problem?
It certainly couldn't hurt. I say go for it.

This is only the beginning, not only for MTs...for professionals everywhere.
The other poster had a point though about our elected officials lining their pockets with the money that is being made. Go vote too! Vote for candidates who want jobs to come back to the US and not just ones who say they do, but ones who actually show it. A petition will only go so far. If you want to see change, you have to look even higher.
As far as choosing a different doctor, it is possible even with a limited plan and should be done by all of us.
Good job though...glad someone finally did it. :O)

Your first post was 100% doom and gloom every which way, including "raining on your parade", and "if you want to go forward"...God, sounds like she's talking about jumping into oncoming traffic! I agree...much motivation there. I have tried to quit numerous times in the past and did successfully quit when I was pregnant for the first time many years ago but I have never managed to summon up the strength or resolve to stay quit. Thus the "need" for a financial investment in my efforts. It somehow makes it more motivational to know that I have $$$ invested in this effort over and above the $$$ saved on cigarettes.

My daughter got pregnant at 17, said she wanted an abortion but BF didn't. I have a wonderful 2-1/2 yo grand daughter that I don't think I could live without...and now, guess what? I don't. I have custody of her. She was dropped off on my door, I got court ordered temporary custody and final custody hearing in a month.
I'm single with no family support. I had just taken a new MT job one month before this happened and they have been wonderful during my adjusting to being a mom again and I hope I can resume a normal schedule by next week.
I'm passing no moral judgments or giving moral advice. The situation is what it is. My prayers are with everyone involved.
Definitely an eye-opening read. Having my teens read it, too. nm

HAHA! Yes! I have those daily! But it's not really work as I work nights, it's little things l
turning on the pool filter in the morning and then in the afternoon running out there because I thought I forgot to turn it on. Or preheating the oven and then 5 minutes later saying "shoot! I forgot to preheat the oven!" It's really bad. And I'm only 31. I'm not 90!
I don't know if dementia or Alzheimer's runs in my family, but this could be a sign of something to come. Or as my husband says - you jut don't pay attention to much. He's probably right!
