...until lightening took out the home security system. It wasn't enabled, but it seems it still checks the phone lines periodically. If you have a home security system, it has to have a filter installed on it, too...or have the nice phone guy clip the connection so it's disconnected from the phone line.
And the tech people had no idea why I was getting bumped every 5 minutes. They told me my Google toolbar was causing it. Sigh...
