has a user list, which you, as administrator, can have password protected so users cannot change the list. What we do is put on sites that we approve. Anything else has to be done on the laptop in view...

You can buy Internet Security every year anytime from Jan through April tax time, and get rebates. Just as cheap as NAV and includes it, as I said.

If you would have said budgeting, I think these programs fall fall short, but for what you want, Quicken is the best.

Also tracks alll my items for tax purposes.   Been using it for almost 20 years.

One of the things that I like about this software is that I can keep a track of both my business and home checking accounts in the same program without having to flip back and forth. It is a little on the pricey side, but you can import the data right into Turbo Tax (if you use that program for doing your taxes) and the software cost is a tax-deductible expense.

I am by no means an accounting-type person. I keep EVERYTHING in this program. I used to always have my checkbook screwed up. Now, I don't even bother with trying to keep a balance written in my checkbook register because I do everything from her. I have automatically scheduled transactions, reminders and bills set up. I actually now have a budget (unheard of before).

As far as invoicing, I have found it to be very easy. I would say my favorite feature is the ability to email invoices directly from the program to clients, saving me postage and the hassle of delayed payments because of PO delivery problems.. Another plus for me is that I have to collect sales tax and it set that up for me automatically when I set up my business--this makes it very easy for me to figure out my tax due each quarter.

Another plus is that you can set up Quicken to automatically download bank transactions every day so I can stay on top of what's going on with my money. It keeps me from missing those pesky ATM transactions that my husband makes in the family account!

I have Windows XP, service pack 2.  Norton works fantastic.  It catches everything.  I do remember having trouble with downloading at first. Just uninstall and try again. You'll be glad you did.  Run Ad-Aware and Spybot every few days and you're good-to-go.

There's a difference between the free version of Norton/AVG and the pay-for-it versions. I paid $50 for Norton 2005. With AVG or Norton, I believe you need to pay for it to get the protection you need. 

mine keeps detecting it as well.  It will stop for a couple of days and then start in again.

I would like to know what the "glitch" is exactly...

which will give you a site list that you can add to, for example neopets.com or barbie.com. I know McAfee has a feature where you can set up windows of time where she can be on only say, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. M-F.  I think even Windows XP has parental control where you can download approved lists, etc. Keep in mind though that if you use a "screening" program, there's a lot of stuff that can get through, such as wet t-shirt parties, etc. Probably not a problem with your daughter but can be with boyz. And I just say no to IM.

Just stopping the flow of records overseas is not going to solve the problem.  There is a special class of visa that industry can turn to if they cannot find enough American workers to do a job.  This has been used for engineers, IT professionals and nurses among others.  It is not necessarily that there are not Americans that can do the job, but that they will not do it for a low wage.  We need to pay attention to the immigration debate as well.  It isn't simply about poorly educated, low-skilled workers being involved in a guest worker program.
