Goodbye virus...finally...
My computer picked up a virus about a week or so ago. I tried removing it myself, didn't work, contacted my Spyware support and they sent me instructions on what to do, didn't work, it kept coming back. So, I took a chance today and did the online virus/spyware removal tool with McCafee. You pay online first ... $60 to $90 dollars (I think it was $60 for what I had done) and then they connect to your computer run their virus removal software and voila...no virus. It took about an hour+. After watching what all they do, I know I never could have removed it myself no matter what software I had. I used McCaffee, but I would imagine all of the virus companies have the same online deal. Definitely easier than hauling the computer in somewhere and, worst of all, being without it for a day or two. By the way, I had a "bunch" of spyware/viruses, not just one. They left me with the page of tips below if anyone wants to look at them. I was glad to know about the first tip...instead of using the "X" to close the pop-up ads to download something, they suggest a better way to close it. Anyway, it feels good to have a "clean" computer again.

Don't click on pop-ups!
Pop-up windows are frequently the product of Spyware, and clicking on those windows may install Spyware software on your computer. Program Alert Dialog Boxes
Close unexpected dialog boxes!
Be wary of unexpected dialog boxes asking whether you want to run a particular program or perform another type of task. Avoid any kind of response to such Dialog Boxes. The best ways to bypass are
1. Right click the item on Taskbar and select 'Close'
2. Open Task Manager and End the respective Process
Alert on Free Downloadable Software
Don’t download programs from an unknown source!
Many websites offer customized toolbars, free utilities, or other features that appeal to users. You should never download a program from a site you don't trust, as you may be exposing your computer to security risks.
Alert on Email Links
Don't click links that offer free anti-spyware or anti-virus software!
These links may be malicious and actually install the Spyware or Virus they claim to eliminate.
Alert on Email Attachments
Never open attachments from an unverified source, even if you know the sender!
Be wary of unsolicited attachments, even from people you know. May viruses can "spoof" the return address, making it appear as though the message came from a trusted source. If possible, verify the legitimacy with the person who sent it before you open the attachment. This includes email messages that appear to be from your software vendor or ISP, which claim to contain patches or anti-virus software. ISPs and software vendors do not commonly send patches or software in email messages.
20 ways you can protect yourself
1. Be sure to set up your operating system and web browser software properly, and update them regularly.
2. Back up important files to CD or external hard drive.
3. Use strong passwords and authentication technology to help protect your personal information.
4. Do not disable your anti-virus program if another program requests you to do so.
5. Be sure the signatures in your anti-virus software are current.
6. Install and use a firewall program, and never disable the firewall. Doing so may allow Trojans to be downloaded and installed on your system.
7. Use McAfee SiteAdvisor for safe browsing.
8. Avoid making online purchases on public computers.

13. Do not click links received through instant messenger programs.
14. Disable the option to automatically download email attachments.
15. Scan all attachments for viruses before opening them.
16. Turn off the preview pane in your email client to avoid script vulnerabilities.
17. Never respond to spam. Delete unwanted messages, and use a spam filter. Replying to or unsubscribing from spam confirms the validity of your e-mail address.
18. Stay away from peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing services. By their nature, many file-sharing services turn your PC into a server, which anyone using the P2P service can access.
19. Be careful playing interactive games. In order for you to play an interactive game on the Internet, your computer must be identified by a remote server. Once identified, your computer can be targeted by hackers and others.
20. Set specific guidelines for Internet use by children. Create system accounts with limited privileges to prevent installing malicious applications when surfing.

I just signed on with them so figure there is no need for cable. Rather than zoning out on whatever garbage they throw at me, I can pick and choose what I want, set aside time for it but not get lost in t.v. so I can get things done and maybe do more productive or creative things with my time. I feel like such a zombie sometimes with the buzz of all these reality shows, its making me crazy, i'm addicted!

My mom died about 18 months ago, but has there been a funeral I would not have had my kids there (they were 6 & 4 at the time). I know my in-laws would have thought me a terrible person for that but I would not have cared (my mom donated her body to science-- my dad is too). An open casket is a lot different than a closed one and can make quite an impression on some. I just don't think that is something that should be pushed. She is old enough to make the decision, you should abide by it.

She has trained since she was young, attending a school of the arts, is highly qualified. She appears to be a very nice young lady, classy with a big heart and is very lovely to watch.
Elliotts voice is not strong - Katherine is
inconsistent and forgets words - So, I guess that leaves Taylor. He certainly would be a "different" kind of winner.

has he gone from a rather sloppy looking spazz to looking pretty sexy? Okay, maybe it's because he seems a little older than the rest because of the gray hair (he's 16 years my junion), but he's kinda HOT these days! Last night when he was danced I was thinking........ Last week, all of Birmingham greated Taylor back home, and Kat only filled half a gym. Taylor has never been in the bottom 3 and Kat has. They are both going to be very rich, but Taylor will win.

I loved Taylor tonight. I really liked the last song he sang. I just got done having an argument with my husband who thinks that Katharine will win and should win and that if Taylor wins he won't sell any records. He just doesn't get it. My daughter and I have been trying to vote for Taylor since the show ended, but can't get through.

I must admit the first few weeks watching him was soooo annoying, but he has grown on me and I actually enjoy watching and listening to him sing and perform. He's good and I think he deserves to win! However, I must say I was confident that Chris would win, but unfortunately not. Therefore, my vote is for Taylor!!!!

I think Taylor will win it all. And I agree with what the poster said about Katharine. There is just something about her. When the judges say something bad she always has this look like, well that's what you think, but you're crazy.

I really like Elliott the best but I think Taylor
will win. I just think it's a shame if Kat is in the final two. I think Elliott completely deserves to be at LEAST 2nd. I think he will do well regardless and hope he gets a record deal out of this at least. He's different, Taylor is different, but nothing about Kat is anything but ordinary. Of course Chris was different too. I thought it would be cool to be down to the three guys. I think they're all unique, they all have completely different styles, and that's great. I think they ARE American Idols. They each highlight a different kind of music that Americans love. I really hope that Elliott stays tonight!

I think Taylor will sell records
I have his second indie CD and it's fabulous. All original songs, written by him, and it's great. Grab it if you can. I really don't think Kat will do all that much after this, really. I don't think she has the draw to bring people out to a concert. Obviously, Taylor does. I think Kelly Clarkson could have taken that song that Kat butchered and at least tried to do something with it...made it something worth listening to. Kat really, really messed that one up.
just gotta love taylor!

Taylor/Elliott finale would be my dream
Then, I wouldn't be disappointed no matter who won and who came in second. I thought Chris was great in the beginning, too. Now, he just does nothing for me. I thought he was really contrived last night. Katherine did really awful on that second song, and she has never shown that spark, either, at least to me. Taylor I've loved from the beginning, and Elliott has grown on me a lot. I think he's the contestant who has grown the most in the competition, sort of like Clay. I'm waiting to see what Zaba Search says in about an hour, but they had him in last place last night. I hope Dial Idol is correct this time, but I just don't know. I will be very disappointed if Elliott goes home tonight instead of Katherine. It could be a big shocker like the first year and maybe Chris will go home? Doubtful.
