docboard.org is a great site as well. Search by name, state, gives address, speciality, etc.
Looking for a good lab test reference site...
.. can anyone suggest some? I'm looking for something that lists all lab tests and their normal ranges... also a description of what each test is done for would be nice, but not necessary.

Stedmans for word reference, ADI or Quick Look for drugs.
I also like Tessier's surgical word book by Saunders and I'm pretty sure I have a Vera Pyle or two around here a well.

Tessier is not a very good reference book. I have one but
haven't used it in years. I would suggest getting a Stedman's. I believe they just had a new one come out either this year or last year. There is new equipment all the time, so an updated book would save you lots of time from searching on-line.

I just got overflow work from a local hospital and I am trying to get started as soon as possible. I have done searches on this site, but wanted to know if anybody could recommended a secure, HIPAA-compliant FTP site that won't charge much as this is my first account and I have almost no start-up cash. Any information would be helpful to me. TIA.

shows dosages, click on drug and generics appear, along with brand names and what med is used for. Will not do "fuzzy" search but first few letters will work. Only real drawback is site is occasionally down for updates. Check it out.
