FINDING NEEDLES IN LAB COATS
I just had to share this story with everyone because I am a wreck. My 17-year-old daughter works in a cleaners. They have to go through all the pockets of clothes that come in. Last night she was going through lab coats (I did not know they did not wear gloves) and touched some needles that were in the pocket. She said that she was not stabbed put touched some white fluid. She said this has happened before but the needles had caps on them so they just threw them away. The ones from last night she tooked and threw them in the dumpster because someone that works there wanted them. She said she wrote a note to her boss and told her to please contact the doctor and tell him to be careful. The Dr. himself brings them in. I called a hotline and they told me that since she was not stabbed it was probably okay. I doubt they were used if they were in the guys jacket. I looked up his name and he is internal medicine. I am going out and buy her gloves today because the job does not supply them and I am not going to start a problem because she needs the job.
Can someone PLEASE call the white coats with the net for this crack pot?

I wish I had your faith in the system. Companies offshore because they want to hire a cheap labor force. They will hire apprentices for the same reason. If new MTs have to pass the RMT exam that the AAMT proposes, then enter into an apprenticeship program, companies are going to snap them up at low line rates. Where does that leave the rest of us?
Also, the AAMT does not represent the majority of MTs. I saw no nationwide poll of MTs to ask their opinion about an apprenticeship program. I didn't see it even for those who do belong (I read the AAMT board).
The AAMT, in my opinion, is as much of a threat to MTs as offshoring. The MT jobs are going overseas as it is. Soon they will go to apprentices. The AAMT works for the MTSOs, not for MTs. We need to take political action to stop this insanity.
and is that how one treats a guest?.....nm
Will you be my Guest Blogger?
Hello!
Well, I've got the new transcription blog off the ground and right now I'm in the process of posting stories about how we all got into the world of MT, and also a few personal things too, to show that MTs are not just sitting behind the computer screen all day...
Would anyone here like to be a "guest blogger?" You can tell your story. Unfortunately, I can't compensate you other than having your voice heard and you can of course put links to your biz, your yahoo group, or anything near and dear to your heart. Please email me privately if interested. Thanks!
Please take a look at the other stories already posted!

Take care,

A friend had one in their guest room. sm
I slept on it while staying at his house, and I felt more like it was just a "gimmick" - noticed no difference in how well I slept. It was fun to use the control remove, though.
and "Don't Impress Much"!
Exactly! As we say around here, "don't feed the
trolls"!! It does work, and I know how hard it is not to respond to the flamingly rude posts, but like you said, if we all try, the TROLL will lose its power and go away. I'm game!! I will not feed the troll...I will not feed the troll...
I would say "Don't think this is going to be a good fit.'
//
LOL! I guess Neil Cavuto's guest
who debated this issue just last week on his show was full of sour grapes, as well.
I've never seen a plumber or car mechanic or electrician collecting foods stamps. I HAVE seen lawyers with their JD degrees turn red and spaz over the BILLS they receive from people in these professions, though.
Your comment was just ignorant. Wake up.
reminds me of "don't get your panties
x
"don't" was a joke silly
yikes!
It must be nice to have someone to float your work when you "DON'T"
What would I have done, not type it. Okay there is a word for that too, procrastination and you CAN be fired for that. I believe if your company has this rule, then it is because of the noosey bodies from your company.
THIS IS NOT AN AAMT RULE!!!!
It may very well be YOUR preference but we don't all have someone else to pick up our slack work.
It's people like this with their uppity rules that ruin jobs.
To the poster above, just type it and keep your mouth shut about it. No offense.
Ever hear the phrases "Don't let yourself be a door mat" and "stand up for yourself?"
:+
By stating "Don't dictate to the board what to say and how to say it" you're doing exact
Hypocrite.
way off topic wedding present question - is there proper etiquette on the amount a guest must (sm)
spend on the wedding present? I have known people who hardly know the bride and groom yet spend $75 to $100 on a present. Is this now the expected/correct amount to spend? I was inclined to spend $25. Am I being cheap?
Well if I'm gonna dream I'm gonna dream big! hehe
Need ideas for vegetarian snacks for New Year's Eve. Having a guest over who is vegetarian.

Okay, I'm gonna try to help
First, you can't be all things to all people. Not meaning to sound nasty or hateful, but with 3 kids under 5, you can't possibly do a good job either as a mother or as an employee. With 1 kid under 5, possibly; with 2 under 5 maybe, but 3, no way, no how. I know this because I raised 4. 1 was okay, 2 would be okay but you add the 3rd one (any 3rd one) and POW. Constant.."he hit me....well SHE hit me first....I hit him because he looked at me," I'm sure you know the drill. If you don't know what I mean yet because of their age, trust me, you will.
You can have the best of both worlds though. Either hire someone to come in while you are working or put those babies in daycare during your working hours. You will be there when they need you and you have the flexibility to attend school functions, take an afternoon off to spend with them and just take them to the park, etc. etc. Plus you can devote full attention to your job during those hours.....well, as much as anyone can, since the majority of people who aren't in the know think we stay home and some nice company just sends us a paycheck every couple of weeks because they like us. And they want to "work"for the same company we "work" for. :)
Just to add a funny, I moved once to another state and later learned that thenew neighbors were gossiping behind my back, they KNEW I was having an affair with the UPS driver because he came to my house at the same time every day. hahahaha
Now I'm sure there are going to be mom's who say you CAN do your job with the kids. I say that if you wouldn't consider taking your very young children to the office and do your job, don't expect to do at home what you can't do at the office. Adding to your stress at home, who stops and fixes lunches? Who stops and changes diapers? Who settles arguments? dtc. etc. etc.
I told someone before you could work with children underfoot and I'm sure someone will remind me of that so I'll go ahead and explain. I said you could work with the kids underfoot and you can.....provided you have some help. Even with help, as the Head MOM you'd still have plenty of interruptions but it wouldn't be continuous.
What's she gonna do if U don't have one?
Call the Spelling Squad on U?
911, this is an emergency...I have an MT who....
Now, this is something I'm gonna try!! Thank you
My mom and dad always take my boys to the beach for a weekend during the summer. My son's trip can hinge on whether or not he decides to start pooping in the potty - - great idea!!! What an incentive. Many thanks!

OK. I'm gonna go for it. I still have the book, so
I'm going to read it again thoroughly and then start after I've finished it. I remember how great I felt and I also remember my BP going down. This time I have to stick with it though. I noticed on their web site that they now have classes and chat rooms, so that should help, too. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. If you have any more hints or input about it, please feel free to clue me in. Thanks again!
Heres-a-what-i'm-gonna do
I just went to the bank and took out enough money to last me a week away from home. I am leaving tomorrow - pills in hand - just enough OxyContin to wean the way someone suggested and enough other stuff to help with the withdrawals - phenergan and xanax - plus my blood pressure medicine, as it tends to go up if I wait too long between the OxyContin pills. I am going to drive to a place about 2 hours from my home and check into a motel - it is right next to a large teaching hospital - so if I get in trouble - I will have a place to go. This is all hurting me and my family so much that the only way I can do it is to do it without them. They won't miss me for at least 3 hours and by that time I will be settled in and ready for the fight. I will post again to let you all know how it goes. Thanks for everyones input and help - I really appreciate it. Hopefully by next week I will be able to think clearer and be able to remember what happened five minutes before. Thanks to you all.
Think I am gonna throw up! ugh! nm
m
I'm gonna seem picky here...
Anybody have any ideas for appetizers that are simple, quick, and relatively cheap? I know I'm particular, but I'm not a good cook, don't have much time or money!! This is just for a card game, so I don't want anything extravagant anyway. Thanks bunches!
Well, then I am gonna be more demanding
as some of these posts seem to be. There is not 1 single person that I know of, have ever known of, probably will ever know of that has a company pay them to come into the office to work. If a traveling salesman, I could see that but more likely a company could hire plenty of others who are glad to show up and have a job rather than thinking it was their place to pay for gas. I still find that post AMAZING.
I am gonna have to get to work
so will have to make do until hopefully someone can helpp me. I know how to zoom in and out with control and mouse so will use until later. Thanks!
ever gonna be fast enough?
Oh boy! I can only hope to ever move so fast I burn up a keyboard!
I'm gonna say no. I tested by...
running adaware, superantispyware and spybot, cleaned everything out and then came only on this site. Clicked around for a while, posted a couple times and ran my scans again. Nothing came up, so I'm going to say no I guess. I always have Spyware of some sort when I run my scans, but I visit so many sites a day I have no idea where they come from.
I'm gonna go crazy!!
I've been typing all day and I told my boss i would for sure finish these last two reports tonight. I feel like i'm gonna go crazy typing! I just don't want to type anymore but I know i have to! does anyone else have days like this? I have to think about the $$$$$ and how good I will feel when it's all done!
im gonna doubt it
I can't tell you for sure, I am assuming you mean editing? If that is the case, Who KNOWS how much stuff you will actually have to change and what your line rate will actually end up per hour you know? Unfortunately these things have to be done and then figured out...
I'm gonna say what the clients say - oh, boy, ANOTHER one, ick. NM
.
No, someone that's posting that sounds like its gonna be bad! Not you!!
And its not me!! Who is it?
Still laughing my ... off and now im gonna work
z
Just dont bait them. There are gonna
translator...I LOVE it...that's what I'm gonna say
from now on!!! Sometimes I feel like that's what I am...
I'm gonna do all of them! Thanks for letting me vent!
:-)
Very interesting. Thanks. Gonna research
to see if there are any natural/alternatives remedies to help battle them, as I suffer from chronic RSI problems, as well as malaise.
so whos gonna be the new Apprentice?
I place my bet on Randal
i have some, my daughter has eczema, so im gonna try it right now.
thanks.
He's not dead. He's gonna be fine.

I hope you are!! :-) Sorry, but you're just gonna
have to wait!! I know the agony and excitement and worry and excitement....I remember seeing on TV a brandie new preg tester that says it can detect pregnancy even before you miss your period. Can't remember the name, but I would haunt my pharmacist for it!! I want to say, based on my experience, that you may very well be pregnant. Whenever I saw a faint anything, which was always how my turned out, it meant pregnant! I remember my husband and I so excited, holding the things sideways, in the light, in the dark, with a magnifying glass, etc. We SO wanted it to be positive!! And every time it was even a faint something, it turned out that I was pregnant. Just had to wait a few more days to get a more positive positive! We went thru so much $$ buying those precious testers!! Hang in there!! Let us know, OK?!
Gonna pull my hair out!
I am currently working on a 20 minute dictation with an ESL who talks like a 3-year-old. I can't even figure out where she might be from. Words like....tweatment, twying, reawy, downwite, etc. Plus, there is about a 2 second pause between every word!!!!!
The real kicker is that she is dictating this for another doc who I know for a fact speaks perfect English.
Sometimes I just wanna cry!!
Gonna be hard to choose! nm
x
I thought the same thing!! Then was gonna
look up old posts, but realized I was right, and it also wasn't worth the effort! Great minds thinking alike again! Something way fishy going on with this whole story!
Probably gonna get blasted but just my thoughts....
My thought is do you actually know that the story your husband is true. Maybe the woman was actually calling him and this is just a story he made up to cover his tracks.....maybe that's why he doesn't want you to call her and why he says he doesn't want his friend to know you know b/c it isn't really the friend's friend but actually your husband's "friend". This is just my way of thinking b/c this sounds very suspicious. Then again, I'm just a suspicious person by nature though I have to say I'm usually right about these kinds of things. (hope that isn't the case but I think this is what you suspect too and that's why you're mad). Good luck to ya.
