It is actually ghost track - area where a screw has once been for fixation of fracture.

They really block out any noise around your house, are comfortable, but best of all they produce crisp, clear, life-like sound for all those mumble-mouth dictators.....won't solve everything, but I have been doing this over 25 years, used Dictaphone, and many many other brands, Bose rocks, not to mention using them for music listening, absolutely awesome and worth the bucks, IMHO!

Thanks for all your responses. You are a great bunch of people, and I sure did need the encouragment. Thankfully, I am "left footed" for my pedal and am keeping the other one propped up. Thank God I can work at home!

Yep, I have, and add to that three broken fingers on the same arm that was affected with the fracture! Not fun but it can be done if it has to be!

Need help with ortho term for PIP fracture
I'm working on an ortho eval for a patient with a PIP fracture. Doctor has dictated an unfamiliar term (there's always that ONE WORD) for me. He dictates, "X-ray examination today shows impaction at the base of the middle phalanx with approximately 70% joint surface involvement." Here's the word I don't know (spelled phonetically--Sorry": "A syphiant(??) portion of the joint surface is translated dorsally."
If someone could point me in the right direction for finding this word, I would really appreciate it!

Your ankle won't be healed in 3 weeks?? I have sprained my ankle before and usually a week tops
granted I don't know the "circumstances" but I really find it hard to believe you can still work (footpedal) but cannot drive in 3 weeks. If you are still in so much pain and on crutches then, then you have much more than a sprain.

Come on now, cottage cheese is not very inventive, but it is a good suggestion. The bell pepper thing sounded great too, but feeding too many kids for that to go over well I think. Maybe a Ceasar sald and bread with it is all I really need. Don't cook for people very often.

I make about $58,000, but I work my butt off doing it, have 18 years experience. You sound like a Sally Struthers ad when you make a comment like that! Next thing you know, you will be telling this woman that she can breastfeed her child while she is transcribing and have another one sitting on her lap!!
I do love this job, but I tell people to expect to make at least $25,000-$30,000/year.

they are a survivor, being applauded, revered. What about you not do it in the first place? This person is saying lost everything due to not wanting to work, went down the drain, housing, vehicles, everything. I am so over the hill and thank goodness, always had enough gumption just to work and make it. What about some applause for people who never do drugs, who raise children without snorting or kicking a drug habit and who are upstanding all the way around? Oh well, guess that is too much to ask, just want to say what a survivor out of someone who really just had no get up and go. Unreal....

I know exactly what you are talking about.
There are a lot of people like you are talking about living in trailer parks. However, there are trailer parks around where I live that are nothing like what you are talking about. My point is that you should not lump everyone who lives in low-income housing together and label them as trash. A lot of people who live in these nice neighborhoods with all their wealth, got that wealth dishonestly. They may not be underachievers, but these people are criminals, no matter where they live. They may be your neighbor. It would be the same thing if everyone thought if you were wealthy, then you had to be a crook in order to get that way. The way things are going there are going to be a lot more poor people in this country, maybe even you. I certainly do not wish you any misfortune, but you may not always be able to afford to live in those nice neighborhoods with the high property values. We can argue all day about it and not get any further. The fact remains that there are stigmas regarding all kinds of things. Even if it is partly based on facts, it still boils down to prejudice.

For your information, I had already submitted my test. I was not "cheating" as you put it. I didn't know what the word was and could not find it through my own research so I asked. I am SURE that asking for assistance AFTER the test had already been submitted is NOT cheating, but trying to actually LEARN what the word was that I DID NOT UNDERSTAND. If I had thought for a second that I needed to clarify to YOU the reasoning behind my request I most certainly would have asked you for permission first. My goodness.

but I tried what you said you did and my Smartype would no longer work. If you don't want to view the grey line or the choice menu of Smartype I think you can set it not to do that -- see Smartline properties and Smartlist properties under the "Stedman's" column. If you have more than 1 line coming up than I have no idea...I only have 1 and have never had that problem. Something is not geling right on your computer for some reason. --hope you figure it out.

Sometimes they don't get it unless it is pointed out to them. See if there are other ways he can help besides turning on a TV, etc. Tell him you'd love to "love" him at night but you're too tired...that you don't get to sleep in until 9:30 and that maybe if he helped out a little, you two could spend some special time together. No, that's not a bribe or blackmail, it's just reality. If one person is forced to do a lot of the work while the other one lazes around, there is going to be a difference in how tired one is at night.

you have it wrong. I didn't say MT's don't have brains. BUT if you think what I said is wrong then I wonder if you do. What I said was that some MT's need their hand held for every little thing. And that is TRUE. Not all, some. That is evident from the messages I get from my PS and it is also evident from posts on these boards. Geez.
