Don't tell him you are coming.  Call him from your cell phone when you are outside his hotel.  For one thing, you don't need his permission to go anywhere.  You are an adult.  For another, you have a right to know what is going on in your marriage.  If you husband is hesitant about you coming, you need to find out why.  There is something really wrong there.
