GOOD MORNING!

Let's here some positive thoughts for the day, okay?  I like my job (Not love because I'd rather not have to work at all)!  I have worked at some nice offices and not so nice offices but this is the best.  My own! (Finally finished office after adding on 4 years ago)  Sure, I have bad days when I really don't feel like working or the phone rings 100 times a day or DH or kids need this or that every 5 minutes but for the most part where could I work with no one breathing down my neck or I can get up and get a drink of water or go to the bathroom without having to tell someone that I'm doing it and still get paid twice I would be making if I was still in-house.

Come on!  Let's here positive things and encourage each other today!  (I am not slamming any complainers because I am one also, just want some positive input today)

I love this board!

Outsourcing topic on Good Morning America this morning....

Good Morning

We are soon going to convert to electronic medical records. I am still going to transcribe reports for the doctor. If I work from home and the doctor wants me to type straight in to electronic medical records system- how is that going to work? Will I still be able to do it from my computer or will doctor have to purchase laptop?????

Thanks

Good Morning!
I hope you all have a fantastic and productive week!
Thanks for the good morning laugh! LOL. nm

Good Morning America

They teach the people in the call centers in India that 35=10 - meaning that a 35 year old from the U.S. has the I.Q. equivalent of a 10-year-old Indian.  Indian tutors that teach American kids over the internet say that a 9th and 10th grader from the U.S. is the equivalent of a 7th grader from India.  South Africa and Bulgaria will be the wave of the future for outsourcing.  I am just horrified at all this.

good morning fellow MTs
Does anyone have a used C phone for sale. E-mailed a few people on board who said they had one but have not heard back from either one. Thank's in advance....
I have a Lab that INSISTS on her morning walk. Good for her,

didn't see it but Good Morning America
supposedly has someone who did a series on work at home jobs for women and she included MT - if you go to the GMA website you can see - apparently she is the only one still considering this a viable option.  You can email John Stossel at 20/20.  I think (from the response I got from the people I sent it to) that most people aren't aware this is happening and even doctors have not considered the implications of HIPAA (I mean really - they said we could no longer transport tapes from an office) and identity theft.  I got some responses that internet petitions are worthless - but my whole point was just making people aware of the problems - not just to save my job - but the much bigger picture.  Candidates should be aware of the taxes that are lost, too.
About ABC Good Morning America in Mumbai

As a person of strong faith, I don't believe in vengence or discrimination; however, with all our work going to India this has changed me.  I look at the opulence, Bollywood excess, etc and think; okay we have slums right here in the USA.  We have people who ARE WILLING to work now for even slave wages.  And just like India we have those who live in opulence with disregard for the poverty in front of their eyes.

My point, help me not be so darn angry every time I here the word India!! I know it is not right.  I am a peaceful person.

Re: Good Morning America - man outsourcing his life

If Good Morning America hasn't been on yet in your area, about 45 minutes into the show Diane interviews a man who is outsourcing his life to India, from ordering groceries to reading bedtime stories to their son...OMG.  Can it get any more pathetic than that?  He says he contacted a few places and one quoted him $400 a month, while another $1000 a month.  He even outsourced a argument with his wife.  The woman in India apologized for him and sent her a card with hugs.  If he were my hubby, I'd find a way to outsource my foot to implant it in his behind.

What next????

Well, good morning "Frank" are you counting your piles of money?

penned in at the moment because of unethical practices of MQ,

but in essence you have "given" us to your competition.  Your competition may have

been weakened by your siphoning off of MTs to work for MQ for a while

mostly because you became a monopoly, but with all the manpower

going to your broken competition and hospitals who are tired of being

manipulated with smoke and mirror business, see how good your name smells in

the medical field in about a year.

The resumes are flying like kites out there right now, can you see them?

Those are not clouds in your coffee those are your livelihood in the medical

field going up up up and away.

Enjoy your card game now.  I think the slight of hand way of doing business

has just about seen its day.

Any company that cannot ever give how a line is counted and show

the method an MT is paid - so that the MT can double check her "billing" is

not an ethical institution.  We don't work for the suprise we get in the bank at the end of 2 weeks of chasing work around your company,  we work for the

money.  We are business people just like you.  You, MQ, would not do business without a clear contract and yet you have expected MTs to

work on a line count that is by YOUR FORMULA which you can't share!  How insane is that?

Morning baby, morning adult. Kids born at 11:30AM (both) are night owls, however. Go figure! :) nm

Ok, maybe I should just stay in bed LOL How about "every morning" not everyone morning. Wow. C

Doing 60 lph this morning so far. : (
I get up every day with a positive attitude, and start typing away.  Same BAD dictators, skipping all around in reports, and some areas garbled beyond recognition.  I'm just venting, but it is so hard to keep going on day after day like this, making no money and being frustrated beyond belief.  It takes so many hours just to make 1000 lines like this.  ARGH~!!!!!!
I did everything this morning between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Now I am sitting here after having had a tea party with DD, decided to check out the boards, and will hopefully have some more work in a bit.  I always end up getting my line count by the end of the day, but when I'm in "the zone", it is frustrating to have to wait for work to come in.

I got up this morning and...
called my Daddy to tell him what I did.  I am crying again, but these are tears of empowerment and true joy.  I put my music on, rather than that darn TV that he was addicted to and my children are dancing.  DANCING!  We were opposites on so many levels and had nothing in common.  He has no more control and I am sooooo okay for the first time maybe ever.  I feel so strong with all of you behind me.  Your words I will cherish forever.  God Bless All of You!  More updates to come...
Did you see GMA this morning....sm
story about working at home as a customer service rep.... anyone not happy with job/and or income should check it out.
a pot a day...in the morning though
Couldn't go without it!
Your morning
ROFL! That darn gravity! I always told my kids that if there was no arterial spurting or bones protruding through the skin, get ready for school.
Then why were there 152 on this morning?
And 57 on in the middle of the night? Honestly people...can you really be this suspicious of the entire world?
Our prices went from $2.55 to $2.99 this morning. nm

I heard about this on CNN this morning, however
The employer deducts it on their taxes to charity and the employee has lower income, hence not paying taxes on that amount.
I do sometimes but usually do the lunches in the morning -sm
I now start earlier, i.e. 6:30/6:45 and have it all done by 7, (was stressed myself last year) get the shoes on, hair brushed, kids fed, teeth brushed by 7:20 then do our 6-mile drive to the bus stop. Can be rushed some, but now not so nuts and better organized this year. Just give yourself an extra 15 minutes and pre-do all the stuff you can the night before, i.e. potato/corn chip bags, crispy bars, whatever. Makes it much smoother.
When I got up this morning I saw the words
"bodies found" and had to rub my eyes to see if I was dreaming.
"There's got to be a morning after. . .
Poseidon Adventure, 1972. Great movie. Great actress.
Can I cry on your shoulders this morning?

My husband is gone until spring with his company about 5 hours away from home. Not too far but far enough where I can't see him often. In fact, he left Jan1 and haven't seen in since. No big deal - 14 days.

He is staying in a nice hotel with company car, perks, etc. He doesn't have a boss, but they have him working 13 days straight and then one day off and he is working his tail off. He calls me every night, and we trust each other 110%. We have 2 boys - 2 and 4.  I am basically going nuts over here with them but that is a different subject.

So I got this grand idea last night that in the morning (today) I would drive and come see him, he has tomorrow off, and then I would leave early Tues to come back home. No big deal. The kids could watch DVD, etc. I am very, very independent and can do this with my eyes closed.  I've always traveled by myself, etc., because of my background, and he's the type who is ultra-conservative, worried about traffic, safety, etc. Which is irritating because yes, there are risks involved when traveling. I have a new vehicle, great tires, great gas mileage, a cell phone, money, and street smarts. What the h*** is the big deal? He calls me this morning when the boys and I are ready to go to tell me, "don't come."

Do you know how upset I am? I am very upset.  He won't be back until April or so and he doesn't want to see us????? He can't leave the area, so we have to come and see him.  Yet, because he's so darn cautious and conservative (always has been that way), we have to suffer by staying here and basically I have done nothing but work extra and take care of 2 kids who really miss their dad.

I am upset.  I am all packed up and ready to go with no where to go.  He did say I could possibly come down later, as in a few weeks later, when the area is not as congested (he's near the gulf of Mexico where hurricane hit, but in a city that was not devastated so there are hotels and restaurants, etc). But to be honest, I'm not going to waste my time or energy on him if he doesn't want to see us. I am not going through this again in 2 weeks. He can just forget it.

I'm usually very mature, but I am so pissed right now and I don't really care. He doesn't want to see us today, then I guess he and his ultra safety self can wait until he comes home in April.

40 this morning, now about 65 and sunny

did anyone get to see the job posting for 5.5 cpl this morning?

Did you see on Fox & Friends this morning...
or the news in general, that the group from Kansas that has been protesting at soldiers' funerals is coming to PA (that's where I'm from) to protest AT THE FUNERALS because of something Gov. Rendell said about them?
I woke up this morning with
my right ankle swollen. I didn't do anything to hurt it, and it doesn't really hurt either. It sometimes has this tight sensation when I stand on it. I have no other symptoms, no fever, no warmth, no pain. I am in between doctors right now. What are your thoughts??
morning headaches
Sleep apnea can cause morning headaches because of oxygen deprivation.  Have you ever had a sleep study?
Sad dictation this morning
A couple of weeks ago, I typed an OP report for some poor elderly lady who was assaulted in her house with a knife and basically left for dead.  This morning, I typed her death summary.  I've been bumming all day.
I had a doctor one morning with
very bad gas.  He was nice enough to apologize and telling me it might happen throughout the dictation - not burping....he was shooting bunnies - very loud ones!!!
They were there earlier this morning.

I have a resident this morning
who is literally spelling everything under the sun.  All medications, the word "supple", etc.  He is driving me absolutely mad.
No coffee yet this morning. You said it was on the server.
On the one hand, if it's on the server and not on your computer, perhaps your supervisor only has it installed to make sure nobody is hacking the system.  Maybe your supervisor doesn't even know it's there, but I doubt that.  I'd want to be sure it didn't get on my computer, but you sound savvy since you're already running anti-spyware software.  How would I feel knowing my supervisor was spying on me?  Well, I have nothing to hide.  I would never do anything I shouldn't be doing on her server.  Then again, I'm not some infant hacker that needs to be monitored.  (I'm not a hacker at all, for that matter!  LOL  Oy....Where's the java?)  Most of my former employers used to monitor what we did with our computers with regard to email and the Internet.  I have nothing to hide, but if they can't trust me, they can bite me.
1308 from 7 to 11 this morning. Need a break before
clanking on.
I worked for two hours right away this morning.
Then I went to the farmer's market and stocked up on the space hogging veggies I don't have growing in my garden, like potatoes, corn, and beets.  Now I'm supposed to be outside ripping off the back deck and sorting through junk with hubby and the kids.  However, it's 97 degrees out and my allergies are bugging me, so I came inside to package some things that need to go to the post office.  I have to go pick some veggies in the garden and weed the flowerbeds today, but the air conditioning is too nice.  We're ripping out a concrete pad when the deck dismantling is done.  Who said weekends were supposed to be relaxing?  Oh, well.  I can relax in my new office and dining room when it's all done.....  Whenever that might be....  LOL
Yes, and I made $90 this morning in less than three hours

with 99.9% QA.  I was done working by 11:00 this morning.  And you say THAT's why they're sending it overseas?  Obviously, I've got more than what it takes to do the job right.  Scoff all you want, but I'm the one who's laughing all the way to the bank.

Morning stress reducers

When my kids were young, there were a few tricks I used to cut down on hectic mornings.  I didn't make sandwiches ahead but I did prebag chips and cookies and place is a drawer.  That way just had to reach in and grab a couple of bags and lunch was halfway prepared.  The night before, kids always picked out the clothes for the next day.   And there was no changing minds that morning either, or they lost 1/2 hour of TV time.  Also, backpacks got loaded up the night before and placed by the door.  A little extra thought and effort the night before made mornings a little less hectic.

I just had a go-round with my 11yo this morning
She has been told more than once, no makeup - yet there she was this morning wearing eye makeup.  I took it off her myself, which she did not like at all.  Lip gloss I can live with but the rest will have to wait.  She tells me "third graders at school wear makeup," and "the school lets us," to which I replied, 'their mother is not your mother, the school is not your mother, and you are not wearing makeup - end of discussion.'  Don't know if you all have the problem with your young daughters trying to "push your buttons" like ours does (by this I mean she says/does things purposely to get a rise out of my husband or me, but mostly me).  I have caught onto this manipulativeness, and now when it happens I remind myself I am the one in control, that I need to stay calm, and then I mete out the circumstances.  Funny, but my calmness actually seems to infuriate her!  Apropos, don't you think?
ROFLMBO..that made my morning...
i have had pictures with greasey hair from my daughter using an industrial size container of vasoline. My son was learning opposites and facial expression, so he did the opposite of smile..classic. Did i buy them? OF COURSE..they are classic!!
Yeah, I got that one in the email this morning, too.
How long have you been with Guru?  Any good leads from it?  I was signed up there years ago when they first opened up, but I deleted my profile.  I just signed up again yesterday, but it's rather a joke.  I found 25 jobs I was qualified for, but Guru wouldn't let me because my skills didn't match.  How would they know when they only let me select 5 skills without paying the membership?  I'm not paying for something that I don't know will work.
Absolutely - but as I told DH this morning,
I walk to work everyday!!!
It existed this morning and nothing "bad" was said that I know of, sm

but I have been gone most of the day, so maybe it turned ugly.  I contributed to the thread, but do not recall saying anything rude or nasty to anyone.  Oh well ...........
