There are real people at these places? lol nm
Thanks!
But expensive gin and expensive cheese. I deserve it.

Expensive and if lost very expensive
Very expensive and if ever lost would cost me the account. Also I have several docs that are very strict about HIPAA compliance and I am sure that they would not go for this. One would not even let one of the front office gals take home the tapes over the weekend so I could pick up on Sunday and get some of it done over the weekend due to HIPAA so am fairly confident that they would not go for this. So we will see what they say when I tell them I am taking a week off. I do have some gals that will help cover, it is the accounts that hate to have anyone else do it. But I refuse to digital and take my laptop with me to do accounts. I have never and wll never do that while on vacation and they know it.
Cook it real slow at real low heat; simmer, don't boil.

I'm on Nights
I just can't "turn into" a morning person. My schedule is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., but it's very flexible. I don't have kids, but I live with my mom at the moment and she hates my schedule since she works days. I love it. I work days occasionally, but I get SO tired in the middle of the day, and when I work nights, I can stay up for a lot longer. I love working at night; it's quiet, I can't distract myself because I have to BE quiet, I don't spend all day awake by myself while Mom's at work, etc...I don't have much of a night life, though. That's a good thing, however, since I'm single and not really one to go out on the town.
With the heat, I'm going to try nights
I think my favorite account is getting cleaned out first thing AM, so I'm going to try nights for a bit. Starting now!
Those of you who do nights regularly, any secrets to staying perky?
I work nights
from 5pm to wee hours. I'm home every day with the kids. I do get child support for my 16 y/o and my "BF" and I have not yet discussed about the two little ones. I am hoping time will be split as 50/50 as we can get it as he works days, I work nights.
Tue thru Sat, nights, so it ends up being Tue thru Sun. nm

Italian, like most nights.
Spaghetti with red sauce. Salad. I'm tired.
I work nights....
I usually split my shift so I can have a break...8 hours straight gets rough for me sitting and typing. I usually work 5-9 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. I go to bed at around 6 a.m. usually, it's still a little dark then and easier to get to sleep. I am single though and don't have kids. I don't think I could do my schedule otherwise. The good aspect is that I never run out of work and I make extra money for working the shifts. Plus I am not now, never have been and never will be a morning person, so I like not having to have an alarm wake me up. The bad is it's easy to be a hermit some days working the opposite of most of the rest of the world, lots of things wake me up (lawn mowers, chain saws, weed eaters, UPS, if I forget to turn my phone off and people are aghast that they woke me up and it's NOON?!?!?) Fortunately I have a supervisor who will let me flex my hours if I have family in town or something else going on. If I ever actually get a LIFE (socialy speaking), I will probably have to modify my hours, but for right now it fits me pretty well and the extra money is definitely nice.
Yes I do work nights
I can and do work when the work is available vs competing for work during popular hours/days. I worked nights inhouse too, because I'm a night person. And I work weekends. Not all of us are princesses that insist on prime days/hours!
Does MQ pay shift differential for nights?
My company doesn't. My want to apply there.
Thanks, will do. About 3 nights ago my Norton caught
Did you notice the Feb 3 date? That would be this coming Friday. Wonder how our various transcription companies are going to fare? ugh. I hope they don't crash.
Anyone else crazy enough to work nights with a..
family?? Considering changing shifts, but have only personally known other MTs working nights because their spouse did and had no kids, etc. Spouse works regular days, 3 kids...am I asking for trouble? lol If any of you out there manage this...how do you work out on the weekends on your days off? No way it would work around here with me sleeping most of the day and leaving hubby to tend to 3 kids alone! Is it too hard to flip schedules between weekdays/weekends? Thanks for any input.
I hate theme nights because
the contestants try to do the artist proud but don't make the songs their own. Karaoke as Simon puts it.
Who should go home? Kevin and/or Melissa, do they kick off 1 or 2 tonight? These 2 are definitely inferior to the rest of the performers. Bucky is running my close third for getting the boot. I really like him, but I don't think he's got what it takes for different song styles that will be coming down the line.
TOP 3: Chris, Mandisa and Taylor.
I've tried that the past few nights
it gets WAY too frosty!! :)
Hang in there. There will be days or nights
like this sometimes. Most likely they rebooted the system and old junk that got left behind from cherry picking got stuck in the cues. I have worked late at night and that has happened, especially since less people work at night. I am thinking it is not you, just got stuck on a night they updated the jobs. Hang in there. If they have a good reputation, odds are someone else will get stuck next time when the get the old jobs which are stuck and left undone. And remember, what goes around comes around. One day hopefully soon you will get all good reports to balance these out. Good luck.
That was in a movie right? He looks great on award nights.
I like him because he seems to be focused on the part he plays and not on looking good and in some movies, especially the pirate movie, he looked not so good but was hilarious. He doesn't seem Hollywood to me all propped up and doing the guest appearances to promote his movies.
I just switched to nights and found I like it alot.
I get a nicer variety of reports so I don't get bored. I keep the tv on behind me but don't watch it. No interruptions, no phone, no kids or hubby, although my kids are all out of high school. They still tend to interrupt. The dogs are sleeping so I don't have to let them out. I do open a window for some of that gorgeous night air. I only need about 6-7 hours of sleep, so I hit the hay when I am done and sleep for around 4 hours, get up and do a few things, then conk out again for 2-3 hours later. It seems to be working out.
I'm crazy enough to work nights with two schnauzers. sm
They wake me up promptly at noon - I open my eyes, and they are both staring a hole through my head. If I don't respond, Mollie claws at me, and Toby licks me in the face. I get up, let them out, then I go back to bed for a couple of hours.
I can't wait until we buy a house and are able to fence the yard! (or buy one with a fenced yard).
1. He works nights. 2. I work days
Ah, but the weekends. . . ..
Yeah, working nights would be great if
the rest of the world was on that shift!!
I just switched back to days after 5 or more years of graveyard. I loved it except for what you mentioned.
My only suggestion to the OP would be try to stay up the entire night before you start working, sleep that day, and then work your shift. That way, you will start getting you internal clock used to those hours.
It's not easy, so be patient. It will take about a week, maybe a little longer to get used to it. You'll probably feel a little fatigued and sluggish, but just try to hang in there. And don't be scared. I remember when I first started working graveyard, I had this feeling like I should NOT be awake right now. I felt physically okay, but emotinoally I felt like I was not doing something right... don't really know how to explain it...
Anyhow, good luck!!

Tired all the time and sleepy during the day even after an eight hour nights rest. Does anyone else
have this problem? Is it a vitamin deficiency in age 40 and over?
Just got back on a Timeshare trip - cost - 200 and included 3 nights hotel
and tickets to a bunch of free stuff! It was fun. Was it worth it? I am not sure! We got hounded pretty bad about 'buying a timeshare' but it was very affordable! Beautiful place too!
I declutter on Wed nights so the cleaning lady can clean on Thursday morning
It's easier for her to do her job if she doesn't have to pick up my kids slop. Heck, if I wasn't so busy picking up all the time, I'd have time to do the cleaning myself.
Special
What is your suggestion of what is special?
Special
For starters a good high pay rate with bonuses. Good benefits including a retirement with a match by the employer. And while we're wishing, how bout a little more respect for the MTs.
Special needs son
Teacher sent home this website: www.internet4classrooms.com He actually goes on the computer and navigates around the site pretty well. I'm hoping to get some time to look at it and see what else he can do.
You are special
And maybe God knew that your stepdaughters and nieces and nephews were going to ~need~ you. HAPPY "Special Aunt Patti" DAY to you!!!!
Special Needs
I understand that everyone wants what is best for their children, I know I do. But, it is very frutrating when there are other children in the class and parents think that their child should get all the extra attention, at the expense of 20 other kids. In our district, we have more special education teachers (many specifically to work wiht ADHD children) than we do regular teachers and our gifted program got cut, because this stuff is federally mandated. I would sure like it if they mandated GT programs too.
My son is ADHD and GT as well. It is my responsiblity as a parent to work with him, both on his education and his medical issues. He was medicated through junior high and still struggled a bit, but now, as a freshman in HS, he is averaging over 95%.
It is our responsibility to do what is needed to help our children excel. Not just the schools.
You should not need anything special--sm
like adaptors or anything to plug it in to your computer. They plug in just like a CRT monitor. They are slightly different in visualization though, (colors do not seem as bright, at least to me) and they do take some getting used to, but I really like mine. I have an LG 17 inch.
special thank you
Just wanna say a special "thank you" for someone emailing me a book that will give me so much info on this topic:)
Actually I never understood what was so special about them
I wouldn't care one way or another if I never heard another Beatles song again
You're not special, lol.
:+
Ahhhh, but he IS special!

I never took any special courses, but I had
worked a total of almost 15 years in a hospital, first in billing, where we had to code all the diagnoses and ops ourselves, and then in another hospital in rehab, where part of my duties were transcription for that dept and some of their various clinics. After my second child was born, I quit the hospital and a friend who had 20 years in transcription taught me what I needed to learn. I got hired by one of the first company's I applied with, and have been doing this for seven years now, and love what I do!
The one by me is having an anniversary special -sm
I believe it is 1 year since they opened up. $29 a month, and the normal $149 membership fee is discounted to $49 ($100 off) for the first 100 that sign up this month. So I figured that is a good deal, plus my neighbor and I will support each other. She is very competitive so she will keep us both going. They have monthly contests there as well. I am planning to go either this afternoon to check it out or go with her tonight and sign up. I need to lose this weight before it starts affecting my health in any major ways (get out of breath with minimal exertion though) but that will not last. Plus I'd love to go up to my dad's at Christmas and be 40+ pounds lighter, I'd still be overweight but I know I'd look a lot better.
Well aren't you special!!

Ask for special file
IE 7 treats the Clipboard differently. So you need a new ProdList.dat file
It is now available for all registered Instant Text users. Please email support@textware.com

My method, nothing special...sm
I like to look at the previous line I typed as I go, just to make sure. At the end of the report, I go up to the top of the report, glossing over to catch anything else that might not have caught my eye the first time. I feel better about it when I send it off. My expansions have gotten me in trouble before so want to make sure I don't see anything strange. I think that's what makes us specialists, not just typists:-)
Need special equipment
I did some overflow for a company that did this and it was terribly hard to hear, reception was very poor. But I do know that you need to play the tapes onto the digital player or whatever it is called and then download to your computer, upload to the FTP site. And the sound quality is not good at all, at least to me it wasn't. But good luck.
You MUST have a special pedal sm
My Infinity won't work with it and no, you can't use another player for the voice.
startstop.com, I believe it is, has a dedicated Inscribe pedal for $98. Don't get the system thingy, just the pedal. I just ordered mine, btw.
My verdict is still out on Inscribe and I think I'll like it better when I get my pedal.
You can have one built special for you
at any computer tech store. I ended up getting a refurbished laptop on ebay that had XP on it and got Word 2003 for only $39. I did buy a 2-year warranty on teh laptop, but even with that it was cheaper than buying a new one and having to have Vista deleated and adding XP and all the new drivers.
Saw part of a special on E-Bay last night...
One couple selling movies - I believe their yearly income last year was over 600,000... I didn't see enough to find out where they got the movies to sell, but obviously a very lucrative business. Started out as sideline, man quit his full time job and has built a whole storage building on his land in order to house their supply. I really would love to know how to do that!
Frank's special place.
Isn't he cute? He bought all of us chapsticks and a key chain. I think that is so sweet. He likes me the best of all his 10,000 transcribing chicks though.
I watched a special on TV last night
about outsourcing to India and how much they are gaining financially from this situation. It showed some of the girls out shopping in nice malls buying three and four pairs of shoes at a time. Wish I could just buy one pair!! Bring our work back home!!!
Office of Special Investigation
It is the military equivalent to the FBI.
Does it get lonely in your special little world?
Did I tell you I won the lottery and won $3567 million?
Have to agree with this poster. Nothing special! (nt)
Nightline had a special last night
on hospital infections and stated that basically, because of poor sterile technique by the hospital and hospital personnel, more than 80,000+ people would die this year from this condition.
The cost of taking care of one of these infections, caused by the hospital itself, is horrendous, well over $100,000 if you have to have an infected surgical wound treated surgically again. I finished my IV wonder drugs, not sure what that cost will be yet from the pharmacy and home health care, but I know that 1 vial of medicine used to unclog my IV was $800. My 10 day supply of Zyvox was $1100. I also had 14 days of IV Zyvox twice a day and 14 days of IV Levaquin once a day, so you can imagine what my bill is going to run. I will also have an addition bill from the anesthesiologist, the surgeon, the infectious diseases doctor, the hospitalist, radiologist, and who knows who else.
I really think the cheapo hospitals could dig up another few cents a line that could be paid directly to the MTs rather than cutting our rates all the time.
