Floating home
Thanks for all your POSITIVE comments. I do live in a floating home -- Tom Hanks "Sleepless in Seattle", it is a small ranch style house that sits on the water. It is not a boat or a boathouse but just like a house but the river is my yard. I sit at the end of one of the walkways that faces east, live in Portland, OR, and I have no one on my east and never will and so I can see Mt. Hood when sitting in my hot tub on my deck. I watch the sun come up in the morning over the river as I get up early to do my typing -- love to type from 5:30 to 9:30 and usually start my day with a cup of coffee doing just that. When there is a full moon is shines to my east and bounces off the river and is truly a beautiful view as well. I have pesky raccoons that come up to the deck looking for garbage but it is still fascinating to watch. We have river otters that play and swim in the water and seals that are beginning to steal the fish you catch from the deck. It is a way of life and not for everyone but I fought hard to keep this throughout a nasty divorce and was able to do so. It is a community life but most of my neighbors are closer to me than my family and lots of times more helpful. I have been down here 11 years and though I know someday I will have to leave it will be very hard. Cannot imagine myself in a conddo or a townhouse and not being outside 80% of my free time. I have about 30 pots of flowers all over my deck. I have tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers also growing outside. My outside living space is about 450 to 500 sq feet which adds a lot. Drawbacks are when it is raining outside you have to walk to your car -- about 1/4 of a mile from my house, it can be colder than usual on the river and in the winter you don't have as many visitors as you do in the summer. The rest of my summer weekends are booked up with family and friend BBQ's, etc. But we have what we call the Christmas ships in December which are boats that decorate just like houses and they cruise the Willamette-Columbia rivers and they pass right in front of my house and so usually have at least two groups down during Christmas time. And when I write something like this it makes me realize how luck I am and I do thank the Lord for all his help as without him this would not be possible. Thanks again to all of you.
Floating Toolbar
I had to try around with a few different things but I think I went to Microsoft Office Word Help and followed the directions for "create a custom toolbar"
Same boat here, same floating turds (sm)
You are not alone. What really ticks me off is to wade through one piece of crap after another and then all of a sudden you get "no job found". Someone was skimming the cream even as you were cleaning up the feces.
I hope those "prima donna transcriptionsts" eventually get what is coming to them.
To Patti - the lady who lives in a floating home - see message.
Patti, when you have time, could you please e-mail me? Thanks, Kim
