Exactly...

I have transcribed with my kids under my feet, the cat meowing, the TV sky high, and the post man knocking on the door while my hubby sneaks a kiss, and never skip a beat and have great QA scores. 

I have also transcribed with techs/RNs under my feet, the copy machine blaring, the radio sky high, and the doctor standing there trying to get my attention, while I'm ordering what I want for lunch, and never skipped a beat (is that professional because that was on-site), and it's no different.  It really isn't, and no one said they didn't respect me in either atmospher.    I loved your post!
