RE: Extreme makeover
I cried right along with you. Loved the mother. She was so excited about everything.
This will work, but extreme...
Pop off the plastic cap on your CAPS LOCK key - you won't hit it very many times before you break the habit.
Alternatively, you cut tape a piece of masking tape or something on the top of the key.
Given the extreme nature of your anxiety
plus your other medications, I wouldn't mess with it. Just because it's "natural" doesn't mean there aren't any side effects. The warnings on RxMed say not to take with MAO, SSRI, tricyclic antidepressants or dopamine agonists.
For starters, St. John's wort causes skin photosensitivity, mucus membrane inflammation, and interferes with birth control pills. I don't know if that's a concern for you or not. Kava kava can cause skin reactions, pupillary dilatation, lack of skeletal muscle coordination, and may exacerbate depression.
There are some European studies out there indicating that St. John's wort is effective with mild side effects. Still, I'd avoid taking herbs period with your existing symptoms and medications.
Just did a search and that is how extreme Islamics view us here in US.
I guess satan exists in Islamic religion as the essence of evil too.
Did anyone see extreme makeover? I cried so much the last 15 minutes

the stress level, the extreme pressure on the job
The only thing good out of my years in the industry was I had terrific insurance when I got cancer. The bad was, when I got back to work, the whole atmosphere had changed. They thought I should be ready to take on the world, and I was still with secondary illnesses from the chemoradiation. In fact, even today (3 years later), I still have problems.
My extreme interest in all things medical/surgical keeps me loving it. nm

At gas station 12 yrs ago pumping gas - me in my daisy dukes & sports car; he in his sports car!
School sports
I think it's a sign of maturity that he is ready to concentrate on something else. Be glad he is ending it before he gets hurt. My DH has had to have rotator cuff surgery, cervical spine surgery, and knee surgery, all due to high school and college sports.
I saw a news story this morning about a previously healthy boy in grade school who died after his football practice.
You are very fortunate.
According to Fox Sports today . . .
"Hey, we simply didn't play well enough to win," Hasselbeck said. "We can't blame this loss on the calls out there."
Obviously Hasselbeck has more grace and class than the sore losers on this board.
I went to a sports med doctor and got
a steroid injection - I could not even lift and hold a cup of coffee to my mouth - that's how bad it was bilateral elbows. First shot provided complete relief for about 3 months, and then it returned. Had second shot, and it has been gone now for years!! Way worth it! Don't waste your time with braces and the like. Just fix it! It sure hurts!
Great sports too
Must add, if you are a sports fan, the Denver professional sports teams are always exciting. One of them (football, hockey, basketball, baseball) is usually on track to have a championship year. Denver itself is also a pretty neat city. Can't emphasize enough the beauty of the state and the outdoor opportunities all times of the year. Skiing is admittedly a rather pricey sport, but there are bargains out there if you look hard enough. Also, I notice when I go back home to the Midwest to visit family how healthy Colorado people seem by comparison. I have heard Colorado people are among the healthiest--because there is no excuse not to get out and be active when you live in such a beautiful state. We raised our kids here and, as Debbb says, it is a great place to do that.
High School Sports
I too went through that with my son and his playing baseball. He was a junior in high school, was offered a full-ride scholarship to college as a pitcher, and just up and quit the sport. There were so many politics in high school sports, who knows who, whose kid gets to play because they know the coach, that kind of BS. I think the kids really feel it and just get tired of it. My son totally walked away from it, leaving me devastated, but that was his decision. I cried for him. Good luck to you!!
Parents and children? How 'bout fishing, sports, his job, etc. nm

Who is Drew Lachey? TV, singer, sports dude?
My kids hated organized sports and groups. They
are both social, happy kids, but enjoy spending their spare time with Lego's, pets and especially reading. My 5th grader reads at an 11th grade reading level and my freshman reads well beyond college level. Both enjoy school very much and are on the Challenge tracks, A's and B's. But I think they have learned how to entertain themselves and enjoy a slower pace because we don't have a T.V. Definitely gears down the speed of life.
Sports - 1 sport a season. Fall = football for son and volleyball for daughter. sm
Their class load and homework is enough; however, the love sports and are great at too. So, I allow one sport per season, meaning Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Fall = football and volleyball.
Winter = swimming and winter volleyball.
Spring = Lacrosse for both.
Summer = whatever they choose.
They choose what they want and if they choose not to do a sport any particular season, that is fine with me. They do not go out on school nights and their weekend activity is limited due to their sports. It works, and they stay out of trouble and both are on the honor roll.
Too many activities is just too stressful both all. My kids will tell me when they feel burnt and need a day off and I am fine with that. I tell them to stay home that day from practice.
It works for us.
definite dearth of good TV on Sunday. Hafta watch weather, sports
