People get killed EVERYDAY by making bad decisions. If you go to work
driving while you are intoxicated or sleepy you are more likely to get in an accident. Do you deserve it? I dunno. Maybe people should just use their brains and they would not become victims or killed. Your logic is flawed and you are comparing apples to oranges. How about this? If you wear skimpy clothes and get drunk and hang out with drunk people instead of dressing a little more modestly and keeping your mind sober, who is more likely to be raped? It is logical that consequences of your behavior will decide your fate.

I had this happen to me and finally got checked out. I also had muscle aches, bone pain in the winter, ate to get energy-- turned out to be a vitamin D deficiency. Sometimes we MTs don't get out enough. Lol. Go to the doc (or NP in my case), tell them your symptoms. I had to go on a hefty dose for 2 weeks to start feeling better but WOW. My appetite is totally back to normal too and I am not tired all the time. Just something to try.

I have that problem. I only have it with MQ however. I work another MT job and it doesn't seem to bother me. For me it is extreme frustration, boredom, and not caring for my job and not feeling fulfilled. I think for me it is psychosomatic. I sit down here to work and start yawning but I could spend 4 hours in my garden and be wide awake. Are you happy with your job?

i gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks - could not stop eating, could not stop sleeping. i know 2 other people on it who have gone off of it for those reasons. at first, at the lowest dose, while i was on a tapering dose of lexapro along with the cymbalta, i felt great. when it was just the cymbalta at a higher dose, it bit me. lexapro has worked wonders for me. but everyone has their own response to meds - this is just my experience. only you and your doctor can decide. hope this helps.

Same thing with nationals. You work all the time to keep the account caught up when others dont work
and then when they decide to put a whole lot of extra people on your accounts and run you out they could care less about how much you worked.

I have those days everyday
and have 10 years in as an MT. It seems the dictation has gotten sloppier. It is a DISASTER waiting to happen. I really do not think MTs should be paid by line given we have to struggle through so much, look up almost everything that takes time away from from our productivity.
A union should be formed for MTs, hourly rates ranging from (12.50/hr -30.00/hr depending on experience and time in. These big MT companies would then not be able to rape the MTs of their earnings.

I am looking for a list of everyday short phrases that we type alot because I know I am missing some. Is there a website that has a list? Also, is there a way to compile a list from the reports we type to show which phrases and words are used the most? Isn't there software that does this? Thanks a lot

You don't really know what you'd do till it happens. I know how you feel SM
now, but you just wait until you have the traumatic amputation. It's not a death. It's losing a part of you. It feels so horrible as to be indescribable. I was wishing I could get married again after a month, just so I'd have something else to think about.
Of course I got over that pretty quickly, but it sure made me understand why people do that.

I worked 6:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. doing
were young; that way I was home with them during the day and once DH got home, I would go to work. My advice is not to do it. You miss out on too much. Be there in the evenings with your family and if your MT job dries up, you'll find something else when the time comes. For now enjoy being able to be home with them. Insurance isn't everything.

i count blind everyday-it totally sucks!
i work for a local hospital and we have 2 systems, one system can view their lines in realtime and the other side of the department doesn't have any idea what our lines are. we have to wait til the following week for the report to be ran. you can always tell if you made the manager or lead mad that week because your lines will be really low. if you dare to question them then you have to face the rath! they screw with our lines on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. there are a few people that watch their lines by report and catch them doing it and have to fight, and i do mean fight, to get it corrected.

my friend hit the charts. I know people do it. I never have because I'm just not that much into music.
High horse or no high horse - you can't just say you're "owed music" because you've bought CDs in the past. You can't say it's not stealing, because it is.
Now if you don't mind stealing, that's another thing, and most people don't appear to think this is stealing for one reason or another.
But even if you think record labels are greedy hogs and you resent the amount of money they make when you buy a CD, it still doesn't make rationalizing your theft right. No matter what you say.
I do a LOT of things wrong. I am so NOT on my high horse it isn't even funny. But I have strong feelings folks working and starving for ten years just to get picked up by a record label, only to have their work stolen. You can call it what you like and you can say I'm not a cool person all day long (I'm really not!) but you can't say you aren't stealing what doesn't belong to you.
Maybe she should have stayed in America where Americans look for drunken teens everyday.

2000 lines everyday but one since my kids went back to school.

Sometimes I want to just sit back and kick and scream. Work my ____ off and still can't keep up with the stacks of bills or calls calling about the bills. When my son was born with an illness I could have taken the easy way out like so many do. He has a life long illness that qualifies him for benefits but my DH and I make too much money. LOL. He's a teacher and I'm scraping by with transcribing. Sometimes I think why should I bust my butt when I can sit back and collect "benefits" and be there for my child when so many people do this. Taxes and the increase of cost of living expenses are about to do us in.
i dont blame you at all. If you buy a product you should be able to use it till at least the foot p
I wonder if you can copy it from one computer and burn it on a disk so you can have a backup. I will try that and see.
Wait till they steal our information, sell it and
our identities are stolen. This is not right because if any of us had a choice, we would not want our records of any kind going overseas to be managed or transcribed, etc. I think this violates our privacy big time and should be actively brought to the attention of all the stupid government officials. Wait till they have someone steal their identity or money or whatever. Think they will rethink this. Shame something has to happen to the rich folks before anyone will do anything about tightening things and even if they did enact laws, would these overseas companies abide by them. NOT.
I just think when the whole population ends up on the street, they won't be able to hide it then. I feel sorry for the generations to come. How would they save anything for retirement. I can't even do that.

I can't find a link yet, but this morning on cable news they did a story about a "glitch" on their website. You know how if you click on a DVD title, many websites will say "you might also like" and then they show a list of titles that might be of the same genre or interest as the title you requested. It's a marketing tactic to get people to perhaps buy something in addition to what they're looking for. Well, apparently if you click on The Planet Of The Apes series (original movies) you get a list of movies featuring black actors only *they probably corrected it by now). Wal-Mart claims it was a computer glitch, but I'm not buying it for a second. Probably a lone prankster did the links but who knows. Either way it's baaaaaaaaad.

Tired of typing 8 hours stright everyday..my hands hurt!

I find it relaxes me a little and I type a little faster, but I certainly don't do it on a daily basis, maybe Friday or Saturday night when I am winding down. As for the open bottle, get a vacuum system for it--rubber "cork", then pump the air out of the bottle, it will keep for a LONG time, no more tossing of flat wine. Works great!

This is ironic. We are going through the same thing at the company I work for. sm
They want to set the standard at 15 dictated minutes per hour for clinic, 150 lines per hour for HIM and 15 reports an hour for radiology and cardiology. Can anyone tell me if we are in the ballpark? Are these realistic? I am a lead and do not want to scare off my team, but I think we do not get the dedication that we could.
Can anyone else share their quotas with companies (no names necessary) or hospitals?
Are we getting lazy or are expectations too high?
I had the same thing with a client in Indiana - did their work for 5 years
Then someone from Connecticut stole the account - underbid me, and the work just kept getting slower and slower, and I asked questions of what was going on, and no answer. Finally the girl that USED to send the work to me called me and told me they were going with Mary's service, and I should be looking for something else, and that they had no intention of telling me because they were using me for stats, etc. (I didn't charge extra for stats, and she did).
So Mary, I know who you are, and I hope RP's dictation is driving you NUTS!

Ebonics: Not a black thing or white thing. (sm)
I don't think there's any cause to get upset or defensive here. Look it up on line...even colleges are offering courses in Ebonics! ...well of course they are more sociology-type courses, but still, people are PAYING to learn about the why's and how's of this "other" language.

I get my work from an FTP site that they load the work to, however I don't have pool work so to
speak, but I tell them how many minutes a day I want. The work is generally put in my box by 5 pm every day, then I have until 10 am the following day for some priority work, or 3:30 pm for the rest, so TAT is not too bad. I would like to work less at night though, but I working on that. My downside is I do not get the same dictators day to day, there are a few I do on a semi-regular basis though, some generate great lines but take longer to do that other doc's and are not "money-makers", I also do not get paid for spaces so that hurts a bit too. This is WP5.1 too.....so very antiquated but that is what the hospital uses, so not much choice there. But I understand what you mean about the C-phone. I was just doing another job with C-phone recently...they incidentally did not tell me how to get off of the system, which was very simple. I'd finish a job, then hit stop and hangup if I wanted to get off or quit working. That is what you need to do if you want to sleep, eat, etc. Don't feel guilty, do what you signed up for, believe me they watch the pools and will get others to do the work you don't finish. If they get on your case remind them that you are only PT and only want 500 lines a day, etc. It's not worth killing yourself over. Good Luck.
