Evaluations

When she asks how's it going, keep it strictly work related.  Tell her your struggles and/or success with learning dictators and how well you think you are doing your job.  Be frank about the areas that you think you need to work on.  Leave out any other mention of any one else, personal, socializing, etc.  I know what it's like to work in that kind of environment.  I worked in-house for an oncology practice for 4 months.  There were always pot lucks, ice cream socials, etc.,  First, I didn't have the money, second I didn't like these people that much, third, I didn't want to do anything that was going to take away from my work day and that would require me spending more time there than I had to.

Some people who are supervisors think everyone needs to be happy, happy, joy, joy all the time.  If she mentions something along those lines or intimates that you should be more friendly with your coworkers, I would respond that you are working so hard on concentrating on doing the best job you can for her and her bosses, you just don't hear or see what's going on around you.

Good luck on finding a new position!
