How can I change the background color on Escription? I'm running it with MS Office 2003 if that helps/makes a difference. The white is causing some serious eye strain and by the end of my shift my eyes are burning and I have a headache. If I can change it to a different/duller color it might helpl.
THANKS!

Background color on typing screen
I just got a new pc from the company and want to restore the aqua background color on my typing screen. The black on white is too harsh for my eyes. I have lost the instructions. Can anyone help, please? Thanks so much.
If you used an Aqua background, you probably changed the color in
Windows properties on the Appearance tab. Right-click a blank area on your desktop and select Properties/Appearance tab.
RE: Background color on typing screen
Thanks for all of your suggestions. The closest I could come to what I had done before was:
Start, control panel, display, appearance (advanced tab), Item: (dropdown list - chose application background), color1: (dropdown color choices - chose aqua and clicked OK. It didn't make my typing screen for MT work aqua as it had been before. Wish I could find my instructions !!!!
Tools, Set Background Color, then make your choice.

You need more color
It sounds like your furniture is from the earth tone family which means your walls should have color. Carpeting is an accessory, like a hand bag, I wouldn't work around IT, make IT work around you. I WOULD NOT paint the walls tan, that would make it BLAH BLAH BLAH. Go with a color in the blue family, very pale, sky blue. OR, you can do what I did. I had boring tan walls, I bought a "sponge" roller and rolled a light yellow over the tan. With a sponge roller, you can create shape and dimensions. That way, the white peaks through the light blue, giving it a "sky" affect: this allows you to keep in line with the "earth" colors and in the "blue" family. Hope that helps.
color?
i am soon to be married, for the first time even tho "past 35," and am very happy. i am having 4 junior bridesmaids and the ONLY rule i have for them -- they can pick out whatever dresses they love and that make them feel like princesses -- is that there be NO BLACK in the dresses whatsoever. It's going to be a mid-day, outdoor wedding, plus i feel there's a little bit of jinx factor if black is involved.
But as far as guests? black is just fine; what is more beautiful than the little black dress? go for it! just my opinion.
color?
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding...it sounds beautiful and how nice of you to let the girls pick out what makes them feel special

well, thank you, thank you very much! my happiness overflows and you must have caught a trickle of it ....weddings are such "contagiously happy" events.
Hair color
I use Balsam (its a greenish box), the cheapest I've found, about 2.97 at WalMart. I use it every 3-4 weeks, and it covers as well (sometimes better) than the salon colors do. I'm a big believer in pampering myself, and TRY to do it often (lately, I've been failing miserably LOL).
The first time or two you might have to just see if it works, and it might take a couple of times (no matter which color or which brand) to completely cover. If you want a 'frosted' look, get a frosting cap and add color to the pulled through hair, makes a great effect. If you don't like it, just color over it :)
I always do OTC hair color.
Colorsilk works really well for me, I like all the Loreal products best. Someone else mentioned Balsom or something (greenish box), this made my hair feel like straw. That shows you that different things work for different people. If you decide to try it yourself, do the pre-testing to make sure it will work for you. That way you don't end up with a whole ruined head of hair. Just clip a small lock from somewhere where it won't be noticed and test first to make sure. Best of luck.
No, no color change! nm

screen color
Is that the color the company you work for gave you? Tech support should be able to change it for you. Mine is blue with white print. Much easier on the eyes. I had one where the preview page was yellow, gosh awful yellow!
Ahh, that's a horse of a different color then.
I would make it clear if you type it, they pay for it unless they can give you specifics about which patients have already been typed.
Not the brightest color in the box or on the palate NM

desertbloom color question
I did hair for many years. Do not use Loreal or Clairol. There are tone on tone colors and without a filler the color will 1)not be even and 2) wash out into a odd color. Depending on the color you want I would go to a beauty supply store or a beauty college if one is close by (they are students, but they are supervised), and have a clear filler put on first (20 minutes to slightly damp hair) this will fill in the porous parts and open the cuticle allowing the color to get in, and then have the consultant at the beauty supply or school help with your desired color. You can also use a tempory rinse out color Roux Fanci-Full colors. They wash out when you sampoo, but always remember this, anytime you start with white or light blood hair anything you use may leave some color behind. Hope this helps. Any questions let me know.
I open it so it changes the color and I know I've seen the msg nm :)

Its their house and should be able to paint it whatever color they want
Come on. Just because it doesnt suit you, doesnt mean they shouldnt do something. They paid money and worked their tail off to pay for it, they should be free to do what they want with it.
I thought that was what America was all about.
Geez
I got a print out with color photos of my
colonoscopy integrated into the dictation. It's already here in the US
crime of color versus white
Wow, to admit your prejudice..I thank you! I grew up in NYC and we had all colors, all religions, all beliefs, all lifestyles and I feel so fortunate as I have lived in different parts of the country and many have never even seen others that are different than them..I friend of mine grew up in Missouri and she never even met a Black person till she moved to California..Blew my mind. Yes, I do think the missing white girls or boys get coverage and believe me out here in California in South Central LA, Compton area, Blacks are killed and missing every day. I think our country has progressed tremendously in terms of racial equality but there still is much lacking. On the Natalee Holloway case, my heart breaks each day when there is still no news. I truly believe that Joran had something to do with Natalee's death and that they disposed of her body. Im just saddened by the whole thing because I think he is just a boy and I dont think it was out of malice or hate, I think whatever they were doing that night caused her death, be it drugs, sex and maybe she fell and hit her head, whatever..I dont think he set out to murder her but I do think he was involved with her death and then never notified the authorities out of fear, then disposed of her body in the shark infested waters..I dont think we will ever know unless he or the two other boys confess.
oh puhleeeeze. you're just too good for color TV. nm

Black is the color worn to funerals.
To wear black to a wedding is to imply that the marriage is doomed to fail or that you don't approve of the marriage. You shouldn't wear white either as that's the bride's color.
Then again, what do I care? Etiquette schmetiquette. I never did like etiquette "rules" anyways. Who makes up these things? And why didn't I get contacted to vote on the rules? It's after Labor Day, and I am still wearing my white shoes. Silly Victorian traditions that make no sense at all. As if we are somehow gauche or less of a person if we don't do what someone else tells us to do.
Chill out, all she is doing is wearing a color she obviously likes -
and black in high school, some pretty wild clothes too. Doesn't sound like she is going goth or anything. Lots of girls wear black, nothing wrong with it. Remember pick your battles and don't blow the little things out of proportion.....as for rebelling I would not consider this anywhere close to rebelling.
"Pop." As in the color popped, the veggies just pop. nm

only one office is deductible -- color coding
I use color coding and have done so from day 1. Have 7 docs and they all have their own color for tapes, letter head, returned dictation, binder etc. They are no longer names, they are blue/green/yellow/red/purple/clear and yellow/green. That is the only way I keep their things separate and for sure know who to deliver to what. Am of the old school and this works for me. Also have a monthly board that I keep track of their tapes and time off and that is also color coded.
Only one office is deductible otherwise you could call your entire home an office.
Irises -- from dwarf to large any color!
I once found a patch of wild dwarf sized irises in the woods over a very small stream. That was a sight I will not forget!
You could color the tops of those keys with a Sharpie, too. nm

Drench it with vinegar. It won't take the color out, and the smell will be gone. You can also add
baking soda to the vinegar. It works really well.
I use vinegar for anything with a smell. If the trash can starts to smell, I pour vinegar in the bottom and let it sit overnight. Then I just rinse it out in the morning.
Also, if you burn popcorn in the microwave, you can pour vinegar into a coffee cup and put it in the microwave. Then let it sit in the microwave overnight. By morning, the smell will be gone.
The icon in her posts has the symbol & color
This is most likely a query from a prospective OFFSHORE MT.
Hhhmm, and what color suit are you wearing

simple way to change color with macro-- anyone know how??
Hi
I recently lost all my stuff because hard drive crashed. Someone years ago had given me instructions on how to make a simple macro that changed the colors for typing. I do a bowling program that I need to switch from green to black, from red to black and from green to red. I had something that I could just hit ALT & R for red, ALT & B for black and ALT & G for green, so no hving to use mouse for it.
I cant find my instructions for this and can not remember how she had me do this.
Anyone have a suggestion?
thanx
Dak
If you change the color in the properties/appearance, it does NOT
transfer to another computer. You are only changing your Windows settings. If you use one of the stationery themes within Word, that does transfer.
I'd do a neutral sand/bone color because of the blue
Sickening color and style - boob tube.
They used to think using hair color could reduce your life expectancy,
but they've since decided that it's not true at all. I'm sure you can find all sorts of scare websites out there. My mom is 78 and has colored her hair for decades and is healthy as a horse.
Background
On microsoft word - My background is white, and I would like to change it to a darker color. The white is too bright and hurts my eyes. I had done it once before, but forgot how to do it. I do remember doing it through Control Panel?
Thanks
Yes, I keep it low in the background. nm

not sure your background
but if i understand, you've had your training and can't get a job yet? If that is the case, i would highly recommend working on-site in a doctor's office, clinic, or hospital to get on-the-job experience before trying to work at home. I've been at this 30+ years and THAT is the way to get started, and have a good start.
Has anyone ever done a background check?
Do you really get all the info that they say you can? If you have, where did you get it from? I'm trying to get some info on a spouse of a married friend who is acting REALLY weird right now.
Thanks
I think they should do a background check also. nm
nm
yes, they definitely do a background check. - sm
Look, if you were to work in a hospital, wouldn't you be required to have a drug screen and background check??? I have worked in 8 hospitals, and about 6 of them required that I have a drug screen and a background check.
I don't understand why "Desperado" got so worried about the whole "physical and drug screen and background check" statement with Diskriter. Hmmm... maybe she has something to hide.
Her background? I cannot name the number of
Master-degreed nurses I have worked with and done transcription for who are not able to annunciate or spell terminology and medications, etc. When I would ask them about their dictation, they wouldn't even know what they were reading off on simple radiology and lab reports, etc. It was shocking.
Her "background" does not necessarily give her what she needs. Whether she needs to make haste on an MT school/course depends truly on how competent of a student she was in her nursing studies.
What's the background/motive?

Music in the background
I have to turn on my music in the background. It is just distracting enough to force me to focus on my dictator..sounds crazy doesn't it?! That is for the boredom. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm not working and my mind is just drifting off. For the inconsistent income, I have a side income not involved in MT and when things get slow here, I just switch my focus to my other at-home business. Good luck to you!
background check
I am in school and want to know if a misdemeanor-disorderly conduct-from 11 years ago will affect me getting hired as an MT. Also I have a recent arrest(a year ago) but it was dismissed-DH and I fought and ended up being the one to go. They even sent me to victim's class. We have been to therapy, counseling, etc. I am an A student and never had anything but good employment history. I am in school now and stressed out about whether this stuff will affect my job placement. Any advice?
Background check
Anybody know if Milner transcription out of Georgia does a background check?
What is your background enabling
How many years of experience do you have? What school did you attend? Your post comes off sort of "above all". QA is just that in my opinion. If not for the blanks, you wouldn't have a job lady.
I think with just the limited background you have had
probably will need more training to do the 4s. Some folks say they just started in it but places looking for experience, most of them anyway. You might find a place to hire a newbie. The 4s mean everything so you have to be versed on any kind of medical dictation they can throw at you.
Background noise!
Have to voice my very, very most reviled pet peeve about transcription, and it seems to be getting worse. The nurses gabbing, cackling, gossiping, laughing in the background. Makes me crazy. Thankx
a little more background info
I was an MT for 12 years, enjoyed it, and did very well at it. I worked in hospitals doing all types of clinical (H&P, disch summaries, progress notes, all types of surgeries, etc) transcription including radiology (6 years) and a little pathology. The main reason I left was for job security.
