I had it 5 miles from a larger city. It was down more than up and they would schedule to come fix it 3 days later! I bought their business package because they said they would show up the same day, but they didn't. They would tell me it was my modem, my router (whether I had one or not), you name it. It didn't go down for a few minutes, it went down for HOURS or the entire day. The speed was iffy, some late nights good, most times pretty slow. We actually left a home we loved and went into town to get cable. All in all, Embarq was just about as bad as Vonage.

I switched recently from Charter to Embarq this summer and have been happy. See no difference. You do have to have the Embarq landline phone though. Have some some good bundle offers from time to time. Has only been down for maintenance once and they were kind enough to notify customers in advance and let us know.

I have it too and they even offered me free Dish Net for a year with my package. I have not had any problems with it either. It is this or cable and the small town I live in the caple is horrible. Good Luck
Any experience using Embarq high-speed internet?
Hi, wondering if anyone has experience with Embarq for phone/high-speed internet access. They merged/absorbed Sprint a while back, apparently. They are the only provider for a nearby small town and I'm wondering if it's even a good idea to move there...
Thanks!
