Either the check gets cashed or it doesn't, right? Pretty simple to solve that issue.

Doesn't bother me either about the FBI check. I do take issue with companies
that want credit checks as that has nothing to do with anything.
we took an IC's check that worked for my DH to our bank and cashed it for them. sm
the check was returned and they came after us for the money of which we paid, plus the penalty to pick up the check and this was not even our check. we took it to the DA and after over a year, they sent the check back to us and told us it was a stolen check and they were not able to collect on it. our loss, $425.
No brainer here. Stop payment on first check before you issue 2nd check.

Uh, no---wow thos 30% must be pretty shallow people-I went from a relatively short simple name - sm
to a slovic name, luckily very short too but confuses everybody and just about every either pronounces it wrong or spells it phonetically and puts in an extra letter (a "c"). I can live with it though I do correct everyone when they do it wrong.
I'm pretty sure this was not a Paypal issue, but
a fraud issue. I had a very similar situation happen with a credit card. I had a charge on my statement. I didn't recognize the name, there was a state listed on the statement where the company supposedly was, there was a phone number that was unlisted so I couldn't trace, but did find it was in a totally different state. When I called the number I got an answering machine with no identification of the company. I left a message but never got a return call. I called my credit card company and they credited my account. All the bank could tell me was that it was for software and I had not ordered any software. I'm not sure where this company got my credit card information. I haven't had the situation happen again.
The issue was q.4 h. so daily doesn't come into play.nm
MQ check issue
Another thing I thought odd, is that it says it's an adjustment, but under 100.00. Anytime I've had to call payroll on a shortage, they won't issue the difference until the next payday IF it's under 100.00 (at least in my office)...so that is odd in itself that they are going against that rule??????????
This isn't a Word issue. Check the settings in ...
your download manager. You should be able to specify the language there. If you can't find anything, let us know which download manager you are using.
Check out Nov. issue of Plexus Magazine from AAMT
and from whence they came.
Check ebay, there's a lot of them pretty cheap.
Some people buy them and then don't like them as much as they thought they would, so you can get some that are practically brand new for next to nothing.
Show the checks were cashed.
(From a different company )I got receipts showing I was paid too. How convenient that the check was "lost" in the mail.
Personally I give less credibility to anyone who doesn't spell check
Especially someone who has been put in a management position. Just makes them look stupid and "slip shoddy", as you say.
Is this a semantics issue or is it a you versus frustrated issue?
Which ever it is, if your feeling superior on a board makes your day go on ahead. I am sure frustrated knows what she is doing and now so does her boss. I am also sure that in the future frustrated with think twice about how she words every sentence perfectly so that you can perceive it correctly. After all, that is what she would rather be doing than kissing her little daughter. NOT.
Good for you frustrated, for handling it in a professional manner. For the other MTs on here who need to get a life, well, maybe they shouldn't bother since feeling superior here seems to suit well. JMHO.
It would solve a lot of problems
If only people were required to pass an intelligence test before they were allowed to have children or pets!
I agree with you 100% Would solve a sm
lot of problems wouldn't it?
I know this may not help solve your problem - sm
I have found in my (long) career that there is a speed past which I can't go, or my body pays for it. As long as I trot along at that pace, I can work 40-45 hours a week. If I try to push past it, I end up with hand cramps, trigger thumb and shoulder and neck pain. I know some people can type like speed demons for hours, but many of us can't. It is a little frustrating, I only average about 150-170 lines per hour, but it is consistent and long term. Maybe someone can suggest something to give you relief. I know only stopping frequently and moving around keeps me working steadily. Good luck.
Did you ever solve problem?
I realize this is an old post. I'm considering going to wireless and will be working with a Meditech client. I know that the older versions of meditech, maybe 3.0 to 4.0, possibly 5.0 would only work with dial-up so maybe that was the reason you kept loosing connection? I would like to know what your fix was.
I can solve your year old problem
you need to type it into autocorrect like this
;yo (semicolin and the yo right next to the semicolin) I also add the m(male), (f( female) or g (gentleman) etc.
Then you type for example, This 55;yom (-year old male) and it will work perfectly. I'm not sure why the semicolon works this way, but it does. Let me know what you think.
could you solve your finallyfast.com problem?..sm
click control panel
click add/remove programs
click the program you want removed
click change/remove.
It isn't a Smartype issue it is a Word issue
On the Word toolbar at the top, click on Tools, then Autocorrect, then check the box that says "capitalize first letter of sentence." That will do it for you.
I don't know what happened to my rsponse, but thank you, that will solve my problem.
Thanks again you guys!
Complaints about hard work solve the problem?
Not at my office. It's all for one and one for all. I have never complained of course. Have you?
2-5 years in acute care wouldn't solve this (sm)
I worked in house with a lady who has done acute care as well as clinical transcription, all of it in house for at least 20+ years. She does the same, if not worse, than this person just posted. Her spelling was awful! She's at home working now, and still putting out the same crap as before. So I will disagree that even working in house won't solve the problem.
What SusieQ, and probably some other MTs who think they are doing it correctly, is there are others who read these reports and see these errors. I have had to go over papers for friends who have had correspondence typed from other offices and what I found was awful! I happened to recognize the initials and couldn't believe that this person still worked!
To SusieQ, I will tell you as I tell my kids. When I'm correcting one of my children, I always hear "it's not fair! Why does Jenny get to do this and I don't?" or "Why did I get in trouble for this when you let Jenny do it last week?" I tell them, "I'm talking to you now, not Jenny, and Jenny has nothing to do with you. You are not Jenny and Jenny is not you. You pay attention to what you do, not her."
To SusieQ, pay attention to your own work. If QA corrects you and you question it, then ask QA or the supervisor if QA is correct in their emails. If so, then you need to change your way of transcribing to meet the needs of those for whom you work. If Jane Doe across the street isn't performing up to par, maybe they haven't hit on her just yet; or maybe they have and Jane doesn't want to admit it.
downloading a tabbed browser will solve that problem
.
I think I'm pretty bright and pretty good, too, but
I am not a CMT. I am a medical transcriptionist who enjoys her job very much (most days). I have chosen not to pursue certification simply because I cannot afford to do so. I believe the certification is a nice thing to have, but I don't believe it is necessary for employment or for excellence in my job. If you can afford it, go for it. If you can't, don't feel too bad. You can still take pride in and do a very good job without it.
Why are YOU attacking HER? Just because she doesn't want kids, doesn't mean she needs a psychi
xx
Check at a local nursery/garden center for varieties that are bred for your area, then check online

Check the connections from where the cable originates to wear it comes into the house. Also check t
had a similar issue with TWC and they had done some upgrades and the modem I had was no longer compatible. The tech knew what the problem was the minute he saw the modem, only it took me about 3 months and threatening to cancel for them to get out here.
I have had a check bounce over a boo-boo in the check book...NOT A DEADBEAT!!

DID you check with Social Security& does your son receive a check???
Go to SSA.gov and research the payee options. You may have to use the search engine, but your answer to this particular issue should be there.
I am disabled and while my kids were minors, I had to fill out a form each year on how I, as the payee spent each and every penny of the money they received. I don't see how his mother can justify how she spent his money for things that you normally would pay.
That said, he is getting Social Security right? Is your son receiving a dependent check? Under law, if a parent is disabled and has minor children, each and every one of those children also receive a check until they turn 18 or graduate from high school, which ever comes first.
The check is a percentage of your husbands, so for 800.00, your son should receive at least 350.00. If you have not been getting this, they would pro-rate it back to when your husbands disability started and that in itself, could solve a lot of your financial problems. You can also find this out on their website, HTH
Simple as this!
Then you absolutely must stay where USA has jurisdiction and that is absolutely not in a foreign country. Those are the rules and laws and everyone knows that up front. The troops, the FBI, the CIA, the US police do not help you when you get drunk and/or lost in a foreign country. But you know that don't you?
It is really quite simple. sm
If you are a good MT, which most of us are, and all of a sudden you start getting a bunch of crap. I was very happy to be with a company that afforded you the luxury of being an MT, but yet a "hospital employee". This was a very innovative thing and I jumped on the band wagon. All the money is in ops, surgeons, they are predictable, macro-friendly, organized, don't flip through the charts and make me the most money. After being with this company for over 3 months, at my skill level, and only to get cued 10 ops, most of which were rejected and cherry picked, that is a HUGE sign. I did not tell "them" that is why I quit, they need to figure it out for themselves. I personally liked the team leader, but she is obviously pooling work out to her favorites, and not giving new MTs a chance - hence they will still "be with the original team", not realizing that people unfortunately get sick, die, move on, and the "original team" will not last forever. I am so glad to be out of there. Don't know if new company is going to be any better, have to wait and see.
I think both, but not as simple as that.
We do all make choices, but in some instances there are very few choices. Yes, we should first avail ourselves of education. Basic education is available to everyone in this country. After high school, education becomes harder to obtain, but it is available to everyone. You do have to have either transportation or a computer, and you have to have time to participate, but if you want it bad enough you can find a way. All that being said, if the company you work for suddenly closes, and there are few jobs available where you live, you can find yourself in a bad situation that you did not create. I think government assistance is important for people that find themselves in a temporary bad situation, but should not be allowed to be a way of life, except in the case of disability.
Very simple....
You tell them you're going digital, and they can either join you in the 21st century or be left behind.
well that seems simple enough! thanks

Might try Simple FTP....sm
They have an option where you can log on as a guest and try out.
So simple, when you know what to do!
Thanks, that worked by just turning off and back on. I am so techology challenged!
simple
It is not your chair, keyboard, et cetera causing you to be so uncomfortable...getting up at least every 2 hours and walking the floors for 5 minutes works wonders in rejuvenating the body back to comfort level. It works for me and I didn't have to spend any more on equipment, hmmmm, not sure about the carpet yet though...LOL
Hi - I wish it were that simple. sm
I'm not able to use Express Scribe due to company policy against outside players. The player is the one that is built in to InScribe. The sound quality is excellent, but there's no way to access the player that I can see, except as mentioned above, and those options have been turned off.
Thanks for your input. :)
Also may be something as simple as
if an injection is needed into the arm, for influenza, tetanus, whatever, that could cause soreness, they might look to see which is dominant and inject into the opposite.
Seems simple. Look for co. that will allow U to

Simple as that then.
If you can't make enough money to even survive as a speech rec editor, then you should choose option C. That is the point.
But, the big nationals, or should I say big globals, are not the only game in town, and if you choose option A and learn how to edit efficiently and improve your production then good for you. Editing and straight transcription require different skill sets some folks just simply cannot make the transition.
Simple explanation
The industry is in tremendous flux, and with so many unstable companies job hopping by transcriptionists is normal. Nobody is nearly organized enough to keep a blacklist. More simple explanation is that every ad generates 1000s of resumes. I once got a reply two months after the fact. Not rude, nor anything to be paranoid about, though certainly not a pleasant experience.
Simple answer:

Find someone you can just "unload on" - a sounding board - we can do it if you want.
Hunker down.
Your first goal should be to GET HIM OUT. You don't move. You GET HIM OUT. You may be able to get legal advice on how to do that from counselors at any abused wife shelters or community police officer. (of course do that on the sly)
Find out where you stand legally on getting him out with the least amount of hassle and start getting legitimate CHILD SUPPORT from him. That means $$ to pay for day care. None of this 50/50 stuff. You are giving him an easy way out and you are still going to be in a bind. DON'T DO IT.
Forget about buying the house.
More AND cheaper ones are on the horizon, trust me.
This way you will still have your "downpayment" that will be growing interest - and it will be tucked away and you will still have your IRA for emergencies.
One thing that bothers me - you said YOU WORK NIGHTS and HE WORKS DAYS. So he gets to sleep/while the kids are sleeping- at night, right? But you have to take care of the toddlers all day and try to grab naps, right? Do you get this uneven picture here?
That's what "working from home" turns out to be - you get to work all night and odd times during the day, but never get to sleep. Between doing housework, tending babies, dealing with angry men, there is no life. And MTing is stressful.
Forget the house.
Get him out.
Get childsupport started. You don't need him there to babysit - he's sleeping while he is "babysitting"!
Save your money.
There, is that a plan?
All things will fall into place after that. Who knows, maybe you can be director of medical records instead of MTing at the hospital with your schooling.
Just a simple question
Don't get yourself all worked up here, or you might just find yourself hitting the bottle soon! LOL!
simple MD error
They forgot to turn off the microphone before they said the words, OR they forgot to use the proper commands to direct you up to the location they wanted.
Had they done either, the words never would have appeared in the first place.
simple answer to
They think that typing medical reports make them as smart as doctors.
Simple solution
Keep the door closed and the cat out! Cats CAN indeed be trained that certain areas are off limits, but nothing works better than a keeping the cat out of the room. Problem solved, yes?
The solution is simple
Report that MT to your boss. If the MT continues then report to your boss again along with your boss's boss. Keep climbing the chain of command until SOMEONE does something about this MT.
simple question but here goes...
why do some messages have those yellow markers in front of them, they seem to have a lot more views than the other messages..can't figure it out...and it's probably something simple..thx.
simple question
I'm relatively new to transcription, so this is probably a dumb question, but here goes...
How does a C-phone work? Is this live dictation?
