about 3 years ago, I could have lost my clinic transcription job of 10 years because one of the docs wanted to go totally EMR, he left the clinic and I am still there but this IS the wave of the future and I agree with a previous post that transcription will probably be obsolete in a few years. I have seen some of the products of total EMR, voice recognition etc and some of them look really good and some don't. I am 66 years old and my work years are probably not all that many. I would not advise anyone who wants to work very long to get into transcription.
