It has already started to replace acute care, as far as I can tell. As I mentioned Kaiser. I left in 2003, but I worked in acute care transcription along with 20 other MTs. I still have a lot of friends there. They are now being put in new jobs because of the EMR system. Also my husband just got out of the hospital after being in there for one week - no transcription - All EMR. It upsets me - but I think we should get educated on this.
