Many years ago, I was in a waiting room
with a group of men waiting for interviews for the same job. After about 15 minutes of very cold, snarled stares from them, one of them spoke up and told me I should go home, that they had a family to support and I had no business there taking jobs from them. I guess it didn't matter to him that I was a divorced mother with 2 children of my own to support and that even if I had no one to support and was a billionaire, it was my right to be there for that job interview as much as his.
I stayed and went through the interview process. I didn't get the job; I don't think that man (just cannot bring myself to call him a gentleman) did either as he was not the manager I dealt with later in that office.
It really burned me that men would have that attitude toward women. It started a slow change in my perspective on the gender differences, equal rights for women, etc.
Since you already get .12 a line I doubt they will give you more - sm
You can always ask, stating how long you have worked for them, how you got them to go digital, better sound quality, ease of use for doctors, etc. and see what they say either they can say no (or yes if you are very lucky). I would not ask for more that .01, maybe only .005--- or shoot for .01 and maybe they will come back with .005- who knows. You make a great rate now, many of us would kill for such a nice line rate, good luck.

It could have gotten lost in the mail, it does happen, or mislaid by the P.O. (that happens to). My checks had been a big late recently myself but it was the fault of the mailer, she was not too responsible in getting them to the mailbox....the office has since corrected the problem since 15+ MTs kept wondering why their checks were 5-7 days later than usual. --If you don't have it by the time you invoice for your next check, ask them to cancel the missing one and either cut you another and mail with the current check due or just combine them into one check.

How absolutely awful. It says he was visiting his mom and the new baby. Can you imagine going in the hospital to give birth only to leave with your new baby and your older son not make it out? I can't even comprehend it. I'm sorry for the people who can't see past her craziness but that has to be heartbreaking.

I do not actually work for a hospital BUT my close friend does and I know what she makes. I am in the southeast area of the US. She has worked for this hospital for 8 years and makes 13-something an hour PLUS 3cpl incentive over 1000 lines per day. She gets loads of benefits. I know she told me her insurance of course this was just for her before she recently had her son. It was only like $46 a month for excellent health ins that included prescription, dental, eyes, the works. I think she has a good deal. Needless to say she isn't going anywhere. She says a lot of weeks she will make approximately $200 JUST in incentive pay plus her hourly pay.

The school system does not need your family's health history to educate your child. Put N/A unless it is related to education...It's none of their business.
I was hoping to get this info on here from someone from that office that can give me a person to
speak with that would be willing to discuss issues I would want to know before I would decide to transfer. People that work there would know the best person for this that would be the most likely to be honest about everything.

and had a roommate (whom I am still close to) for 4 years, moved back home and back to sharing a room with my sister while she went to a local college and then got married. In fact, after 17 years of marriage, this is the first time in my life that I have had my own dresser, not just the top two or bottom two drawers!

i have been through some rough times lately and had to apply for some help. there are signs, big signs, all over our offices saying "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LEGAL TO GET HELP". so we and our government do give them our benefits whether they are legal here or not. now that is messed up. i am helping to support them so they can take away my jobs and i can't even support my kids and yes i get benefits, wow $75 a month in food stamps which lasts not even a week in a household of 6. don't get me wrong, i am thankful for any help at the moment, but i get penalized for trying to work my tail off and still can't survive.
there was recently an article in our local newspaper where one of our local school districts tried to charge $1000 a year for each illegal student enrolled. it was bulked and the illegals got a lawyer to sue for discrimination. the school district merely stated that they had to HIRE extra teachers that could speak the foreign language just to teach these children and were trying to offset some of the expenses. ridicilous!! so again our taxpayers money is paying to educate illegals as well.

I am waiting for an internship, I have given up trying to find a job! I decided that everyone is right, you have to do the internship or mentoring program and that is the way to go!!! I think it is the way to get my foot in the door so to speak. Thank you for all who have given me good advice. I think this is the way to go! There is no other way to go, that is my belief anyway...

Wouldn't it be fabulous if all of us young chicks in our 50s formed our own business together? I don't know what business it would be, but we'd sure have fun! I think we should all audition for Deal or No Deal, and whichever one wins, we split the winnings between us. Wouldn't that be a gas?

I have 25 years experience and have been posting on this site and one other..I want to be able to start PT and then when my full-time job stops Radiology Overtime, then I'll be free to do more at home. Is it the economy? I love being at home and dread having to pound the pavement and work somewhere at night!

for short term to see which is really the one you want. Ya never can tell. If need be, be up front with current employer, tell them you want to be fair and say working both places to SEE rather than just quit them.
I am not sure about the waiting lists here yet,
but I do know that the program only takes so many students. That will probably be another thing I will have to factor in too. Great tip on taking the electives while waiting though. I am only going for the associate's degree as well. Are you interested in going into psych too?

just curious - who do you work for?
Been waiting 3 months
for an Illinois company to pay me the one and only invoice I sent them. Have sent emails so that everything is in writing. I have called and left message, but she's not in and doesn't call back. Excuses have been that client not billed, I'm been sick, will send next week, etc. Filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, but they cannot help in matter. Talked to Labor Board, but they cannot help because I was a contractor, and they suggested I get a lawyer. I am now in process of writing a demand letter and then will file small claim lawsuit. I began asking for payment since 10 days after invoice and still nothing!
Only worked for them for a week because I knew it wasn't going to work out, so I think this is MTSO messing with me because they are ticked off. I thought of billing client I did work for just to embarrass her!
Sitting waiting right now....

Another day of waiting endlessly for work
But come Thursday and throughout the entire weekend wil come a stream of e-mails saying there is work now for us to make up our lines!!! Are we to be available 24/7 at these places? Does ANY company hire enough people and have enough work for those of us who actually WANT to work at a steady pace? Anyone? Really tired of this. I am a very dedictated MT.

I live in the country, some neighbors moved and left 7 cats, one being female, who is pregnant. Poor little thing only has one eye, but she sure is cute! Have taken her in to show her a bit of TLC, now the wait for her brood! They will all be neutered in the next 2 weeks and she will be spayed after her kittens are here. One good thing though, we have no mice!

You should disable call-waiting because if you are....
doing a low-speaking doc and have the volume up high, you'll blow your ear drums out. On the other hand, if that is your only line, what if someone from work needs to get in touch with you? As far as losing the job you're working on, it would depend on how the system is set up and whether or not the work is assigned to you or in a pool. I'm not sure if the phone has a "hold" button or not. It's been a while since I used one but I had 2 lines so it wasn't a problem. Good luck.
It is best to disable the call waiting
so you have less interruptions as it can be annoying but I don't think it will mess up the dictation. Also, may want to look into getting voice mail through phone company rather than your own answering machine if you don't already have that so you don't miss any important calls. My set up is such that all unanswered calls go to voice mail.

I right clicked and dragged a file from my desktop into ExpressScribe but it played back very distorted. Just wondering if there was a better way to do it.
I get tired of waiting for my check
I work because I need the money. Companies hire you because they need the money. All I am asking for is to be paid on time... Not 1, 2, or 3 days later due to our postal service. Mail the check earlier. I promise I will not deposit it until my scheduled pay day. Receiving a check in the mail on a weekend does not help me if my bank is not open. My creditors do not want to hear " I am waiting on my money before I can send you yours". Please.....
Have ordered it and am waiting for its arrival.
