My first husband was an escape! I met him in California and he was. the penultimate beach boy and he followed me home!! We parted ways after we had my only child and have spoken only twice in 30 years on the deaths of my mother and my dad. Strange, but true. My second was a big, strapping man who protected me from everything I feared but I never really knew how controlling and mean he could be .. I had what I needed and did not see the damage he did to the kids and my daughter in particular. Since his death I have dated and looked but just cannot let myself go enough to find someone who might make me happy. I am afraid I will make another mistake and I have finally decided that I can take care of myself and now am very good friends with my daughter who turned out well in spite of me having my head up my butt. It works out if you let it .. it sure is hard taking the right path sometimes, however. I guess what we need to take home at the end of the day is that we do what we know and we tend to chose what we have been exposed too. My father left and my mother never let me know him until I got to go to disburse his estate. My stepdad was a wealthy, spoiled man who loved women and gave my mother everything but left her at home mostly .. I never ever wanted to end up like she did and thankfully have not .. but I have learned too not to judge. I feel better at the end of the day!
