I also know my accounts inside and out.  Have been in the business now 18+ years and very, very happy.  I don't particularly know how many lines I do because I don't stick to my seat, and I have never tallied all the different accounts I do.  I have two children (school-aged), but I enjoy just taking long breaks to go to the store or do house chores.  I get the work done, turn it in, and get paid.  That's it.  I do not however work for a national and do not require health insurance.  Lots of factors play into this field as far as what you must do in order to get benefits and what you must do in order to have a steady income that is needed.  I am lucky to have great accounts, nice office staff (still deliver/pick-up) and a great company online who does not require a certain line count.  All clinic work for me and I'm "luvin" it.  Happy typist here...  hope to be doing this a long time.  I do sometimes have numbness in my arms that wakes me at night, but not true pain.  I no longer have neck burning as I just purchased a new chair.  Sometimes your ergonomics come into play, and I also take lots of breaks.  I have to wear glasses, but I do not feel a whole lot of pressure to produce lines so to speak.  I do have coverage if I need time off.  I try to plan time off around my accounts (when the docs take their vacations) just so I don't lose wages but I'm not real worried about it if I have to ask for assistance.  I guess I'm one of the luckier ones and blessed.  I can say that I have worked very, very hard to get this far though in the comfort zone I am in now.
