That is exactly what I was thinking, but then other MTs started

telling me how they were earning 10-12 cpl right out of their courses.  I started to wonder if I was just not very bright, they were really lucky, or if they are full of caca.  I have a couple of other offers, another for 4cpl and one for 5cpl.  The 5cpl though is voice recognition editing and has a number of ESLs, so I know I won't be as productive.

I've been working this account a couple of weeks and really like it.  The doctors on the account are all good dictators and curteous (I can never spell that word, lol).  They seem to take notice of back ground noise and will stop when it gets loud and even repeat if they think what they said got covered up.  They speak clearly and use a lot of the same phrases.

Thank you for the encouragement and reason.  I was beginning to feel a bit depressed.

dressing in black
Don't worry about it. My sister wore black for 15 years when she was teenager and throughout her 20s; one of my nieces starting wearing black when she was in junior high. The niece is an RN and neither of them has ever done anything weird or satanic in their lives.

Some people love black - personally, I avoid it like the plaque, don't even buy black shoes or purses.
Dressing for an Interview
When I was in a class at college that helped you to prepare for getting a job, women were to wear a suit, jacket and skirt with white blouse, and guys a suit and white shirt and tie.

I realize this is just an interview at K-mart but I have heard of others landing a job partially because they made a great impression by dressing up regardless of the position they were interviewing for. My brother was one of those people that did this for an auto parts delivery man position and they told him how impressed they were with his attire. So, I really do think it makes a big statement and difference a lot of times.

Wishing your son the best of luck! I say dress up the best he can, present himself professionally, and he will be more apt to land the job. :)
Stove Top Dressing Meat loaf
with home made smashed potatoes, gravy and brussel sprouts....tomorrow night, sketti and meatballs, made with the extra Stove Top mixture.
Turkey stuffed with cornbread dressing....
With gravy, served with peas, sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, with strawberry shortcake and homemade whipped cream for dessert.....
Out of her dress today (instead of out of her dressing) but I caught it when proofing.

Bowtie pasta - Zesty Italian dressing,
small bits of sharp cheese, raw broccoli cut up, and tomotoes cut up in tiny squares! So easy and delicious.

Sometimes, I throw a little bit of pepperoni in there for spice.
Guess I'm a killjoy 2. Just never really enjoyed dressing up in costume.

Ha ha! But will you start dressing as tacky as Dog and his horrible wife? Yuck! ;)

Hated it. The office politics, the dressing up, the back-stabbing. I do in 4 hours what I did in 8
at home.  That hospital environment with all those women backstabbing, worrying about how long other people took for breaks or lunch, who was in favor with the supervisor, who fit in with the cliques,  UGGGGGGHHHHH!   I can't believe I am saying this but MQ looks good compared to those days now that you got me to thinking.  (Not that good pay-wise/benefit-wise though)
Speaking of Kenny Chesney, is anyone thinking what I am thinking? see message
When I hear the words, "annulment" and "fraud" in the same sentence, I can only think of one thing.  Anybody else thinking the same thing?
Halloween
Go to marthastewart.com and search 'halloween'. There's a ton of stuff in there. Have fun!
I don't like Halloween....

so I'm not up for that challenge.  It has nothing to do with religion, or beliefs, or such....I just do not like Halloween.  I did the whole bit when my kids were little, but never liked it (they could not tell that though!).

I don't like witches, or spiders, or cupcakes that look like them.  Don't like pointy hats and long chins with warts on them and especially warts with hair growing out of them.  Don't like to scare people or to be scared.  Don't like hairy spiders hanging on a thread.  Don't like green faces on little children.  Don't like mucous-looking stuff dripping off someone's face or, worse yet, off another body part.

I am being somewhat facetious but...I really do not like Halloween.

BUT I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE CANDY CORN!!! AND THE CANDY CORN THAT IS SHAPED LIKE A PUMPKIN.

Halloween Candy
Milky Way!
Whatever is on sale at 50-75% off the day after Halloween....sm
Target usually has the most "good stuff" candy on sale i.e. the Hershey bars, M&Ms, Snickers, etc.  Usually the day after Halloween it's 50% off and 2 days after Halloween it's 75% off.  I stock up on enough candy to last until Christmas, then after Christmas get enough to last until Valentine's Day, then after Valentine's Day I grab whatever I can because there's no major "candy events" for a while to get it cheap!
For me, I would have to say Halloween and Candyman. nm

Group halloween costumes
Need halloween costume for 4 people, group ideas.  We don't want anything like sponge bob or cartoony.  ANy good ideas???  we have a party to go to.
Halloween twinkle lights.

These lights are adorable.  If you weren't going to have the kids make them, perhaps you could make them up ahead of time to "decorate".  Twinkle lights are sold at the dollar stores nowadays for a buck!!!

What does being a Christian have to do with Halloween? see message

Your Halloween Party sounds fun!!!  I was thinking about doing one for my 6-year-old, having the kids dress up.

But I do have to ask, just because you are a Christian does not mean you can't celebrate Halloween.  In fact, you ARE celebrating "Halloween", just on a different day.  I understand the meaning of Halloween isn't the best, however, that is the day that is set aside and Halloween has been totally commercialized anyway, so it is not like I am sitting at home worshiping un-Christian like things or trying to be a witch.  Do you see what I mean?  I am not trying to be mean, I too am a Christian, but we do take the kids out on Halloween.

I'm not "afraid" of Halloween, but I was never into it, either, except when a pre-teen. Jus

You win! I'm coming to your house for Halloween!
on my broomstick!  LOL
I'm a Christian, I don't celebrate Halloween but
I do have a harvest carnival for my friends kids. They love it and every year it's bigger than the year before.
Halloween has Christian origin. Please sm

That is a GREAT Halloween costume idea! LOL. nm

Poll: What is your favorite Halloween candy? s/m
I always get a craving for candy corn this time of year!
My pre-teen Halloween story - happened about

There were always literally hundreds of kids out in our neighborhood on Halloween.  When I was about 12, I got a gray wig and messed up the hair, a rubber mask with a large nose and lots of wrinkles, wore an old long plaid robe tied at the waist and socks with open-toe bedroom slippers.  So here I am, messy gray hair, ugly face, robe and slippers and walked with a limp down the dark street.  Two men were waiting at the end of a driveway for their children.  Here I come, limping by and one man pokes the other one in the side and says, "Hey, Jim.  Is that your wife or mine?"

I will remember that for as long as I live.

I thought it was cute.. Happy Halloween. nm

I challenge you all to host a Halloween/Fall party at your house this year! sm

You will have an eyeball! I mean, ball.

This will be my 1st, usually my sister-in-law does it. I picked up A Taste of Home's Halloween issue and if that doesn't inspire you to do something this fall, then you might be dead...pun intended.

For dessert I am going to make little witches that will make a neat centerpiece. Here's how you do it: Take 16 large marshmallows, oreo cookies, coconut slivers (for the hair that you dye green with food coloring), Hershey kisses and peanut butter cups (miniature) that will be the top of her hat (place candies on top of oreo chocolate cookie (minus one side of cookie and the frosting).  Use pretzels for her broomstick. These things are so cute I can hardly stand it.

2. Spider cupcakes. Use chocolate EVERYTHING and for the legs use 8 small pieces of licorice dangling from the cupcake and anything small and red for the eys (M&M minis) or red icing.

There are tons of ideas and recipes. The main dish will be Witch's Brew Stew and it looks awesome! If you want the recipe, email me. If not, then drop dead.

Oh, and for the kiddies, I will be playing games like pin the stem on the pumpkin and bobbing for body parts (will probably call this game something else), but you fill up a large tin bucket, stain the water black and put things in inside. Each kid takes turns using their hands to try to find 3 things you tell them to find in this nasty mixture of stuff using their HANDS, not mouth.....

So, get your invitations out, dust off your printers and have fun! I'm doing this mid-month, not on Halloween since I am a Christian and we don't celebrate Halloween.

LOL, that's exactly what I was thinking
Let's try to focus on the original question, not debate the evils of daycare. I agree, many discussions on this board do end in negativity, but I thought this one was going pretty well until we hit the nerve about daycare.

I think Kira has been given a lot of great information from a lot of different points of view. It's all food for thought.
My thinking too - thus the OMG nm

That's what I was thinking.
It sounds like a case of misdirected anger here.  Grandma was probably waiting for the right moment instead of springing bad news on them the moment they came through the door.  Are you going to all have a yelling match late at night when your'e tired from your trip and all the kids are home?  Better to wait until they're at school and discuss it like rational adults.  How many times has the kid been arrested and suspended before now?  The kid is the one who was wrong by misbehaving in the first place.  If he's such a bad seed, why did he get left with Grandma anyway?  Everyone knows Grandparents aren't as good as enforcing rules as parents are.  All this communication and responsibility nonsense is control freak bunk.  The kid wouldn't have been arrested and suspended if you truly had honest and open communication.  Why was he arrested and suspended anyway?

I was just thinking. . . .sm

I have a friend that was a Pug breeder. Unfortunately the "Pug couple" only had one litter as the female had major problems with her first and only litter.  She still has the male and female who are almost 10 years old and in good health.

She "rescued" a "Puggle" (Pug/Beagle cross) a few months ago and that poor dog had the worst gas. STINK!  It was just awful.  She was feeding him Iams just like her older Pugs, but he would make everyone run outside.  We had him in the car one day and we were all ready to just bail.

I'll have to ask her what she did to make the Puggle stop clearing out the neighborhood.

I too have been thinking about it...sm
I have not raised my price for five years and am seriously considering going up another penny maybe after the holidays.  I too pick up and deliver and we all know the cost of gas!  Anyway, I think I am due or overdue!!!

I was tought to type way back in the 10th grade. We learned right from the start not to look at the keys. Why do you need the letters to stay on?? I really don't understand it.
Thinking about it.

I have a BS that isn't that marketable (at least all of my A&P, Patho, etc.. were useful for this job) and am contemplating the same thing.

I have thought about outpatient primary care nursing since I don't really want to work in an inpatient environment.  I originally wanted to get my BSN but got sidetracked and am thinking about going back through a BS to BSN program sometime in the future.

My kids are 2,3 and 7 and while I know some people can do it, I think it would be really hard to go to RN school at this point in my life. Your child is older and it might be easier for you, but it will still be tough. You have to get to clinicals early and often stick around to get more information on your pt at the end. The night before your clinical, I have heard RN students have to do tons of prep work - you have to know your pt's medical condition inside and out and have all of your nursing diagnoses and care plans set up.

Its a lot of work but the career is very rewarding and the pay, despite all of the kvetching, is pretty darn decent.

If it is something YOU want to do, talk to an advisor.  Get the lowdown on it.  When I was in college the first time, the RN program had an information session for prospective students that included a Q and A with a current student.  But, make sure it is your goal - I let people convince me to go pre-med and within a semester I realized there was no way I wanted to be an MD.  Had I stuck to my desires instead of what someone else wanted for me and thought was a better choice, I might have been a pretty good nurse by now.

Good luck. Lots of people do it. It is much harder than when you have no kids but people do it all of the time.

If the guy is really as bad as she has us thinking,
and she could lose her current job and any future job. I am beginning to wonder if the site should start a "Support your local Jodi" page.
I'm thinking about getting the DVD, too. sm

I can't believe I didn't watch this show from the beginning.  I just really started watching it this season.  Now it's a must see show for me!

I really don't know what he was thinking......I just think he is
heartless and thought maybe he could leave the country and not have to come back or something??? I really don't know. I just think he put the gun back thinking he had cleaned it good and that no one would ever think to check that gun since noone knew it had been gone. As far as the computer, the porn looks bad if he is guilty but the fact is looking at porn doesn't make him guilty. On the other hand, if you take the computer then it does look like you are hiding something. He probably just didn't think about the computer....None of it makes sense to me either. I think he just killed her and then wasn't sure what to do.....
Don't know what I was thinking...
All of this is new to me. Forgive the stupid question.  I get how it works now.  Thanks.
Yes, I was thinking that I would...
need to gather some references, maybe a book or two. I have done some reports, but not a wide range. That is why I was hoping to get some imput from people who do psych on a regular basis.

Any references, info would be greatly appreciated :)
What are they thinking...?
I have looked into it and, quite frankly, it looks absolutely ridiculous. All these outrageous rules, especialy when a man (who came up with the theory) decided a woman shouldn't make any noise while giving birth (but she can have all the drugs she wants) and some goofball decides for his wife that's the thing to do! Go figure.

Exactly what I was thinking
Taylor was already an established entertainer, maybe not hugely successful, but already had his on stage persona established. Elliott, for example, was undiscovered and uncharted territory. Ready to be molded. I have read on the AI message board that some people just "couldn't get past the teeth". Well, uh, I think he can afford to get some work done now if he so chooses. To me a talent show should be about undiscovered talent, someone who grows tremendously during the competition. Can ya tell I'm an E fan. LOL.
I'm thinking it is because
it is just as easy to chat here on the boards?
