MDI is not as great as they want everyone to believe and as far as the OP goes, her word is very "questionable" to say the least.
They never, never follow through with what they say they are going to do!

There aren't many males around. After the mate, the females eat them lol.
We have black widows galore here in Calif. I actually keep frogs in my yard (provide ponds for them) and they have made a big impact on the insect population.
Remember to always wear shoes (something I try to do).

What a tough situtation. It would definitely be a good idea to tell him you don't want to continue the relationship until he gets the appropriate help.
I agree with the other poster, it is somewhat of an abusive relationship. My father was like this and is still. He would go through "moods" and we all would be walking on eggshells, he'd eventually fly into a rage . . . once even going so far as to hold a shotgun to his head because the world was so against him . . .(drama). He's never gotten any professional help. At one time my mother decided to put St. John's Wort (herb for depression) into his mashed potatoes. What dysfunction, I know. Anyway . . . People like this just have it in their personality to be miserable . . . it goes back generations in my family, I think it's the internal negative dialogue they have, never being able to let things go.
Think about what your future will be living with someone like this (and your children's).
With a family history like his he very well could be depressed but maybe it is viewed as a weakness in his family to admit it. He's probably embarassed. It definitely sounds like he has anger issuses, which they say "depression is anger turned inwards".
How about manipulative? Could he like the even negative attention he gets from acting like this?
You have done the right thing . . . to be concerned. How would you feel if you made no attempt to help and something bad happened?
I think he has too many problems for you to be involved with him. Find someone else. Don't waste your nice caring personality and life on someone like this. Sometimes people like this are just happy being miserable and wouldn't have it any other way. So just let them be.
Definitely take a step back until he gets his life in order.

They were so bad I actually thought it might be a joke. but I stuck it out, made very little money for a long time.
I've doing the same crappy dictators now and average 350 lph with them. They say the same thing over and over. After a while your ears can hear what they say and you can pick up your speed.
Most MTs flit from job to job so fast they never get used to the dictators.

Yep, sure do. They've sucked up to the Trinidad thing, just like some other
companies we know. They use a platform and it's a system where they use common MTs, and those common MTs are in Trinidad. It APPEARS as though they don't outsource offshore, but in reality, they do.
I went to a local business college which sucked.
My first job was a p.r.n. position with a local hospital filling in for vacations and people off sick. That's where the real education came from.

If you had been professional and paid her on time, none of this would have happened. Yes, $100 is not a huge amount, but to those of use w/o it, it is a lot. Someone tried to screw me out of $100 and I relentlessly pursued them until they coughed it up after threat of legal repercussions. She/he used the leverage she had and contacted your client, I might have done the same thing in her position. As for your client not being happy, ask them, simple enough and if they aren't then fix that too. So swallow your anger at her for not being a good IC and juat pay her what is owed. She did the work good or bad and deserves to be compensated. Once you pay her she will go away, think about that.
I cut a hole in the plastic
on the back of the cassette (surgery!) and then pulled both ends out a little to make the tape job easier, and then respooled the tape back. No anesthesia needed; pt recovered well.
HELP- I don't know my head from a hole

drunk. He doesn't remember all the crap he said last night of course. I have to start tape recording him, think its time to get a digital recorder.......might come in handy in the future if I ever need it.

black widows
LOL, a creature of the underworld? I sure hope you are kidding. A black widow, as all spiders, are very much needed. They eat other bugs. Most spiders are harmless and black widows do not stray from their web very far. You can put a black widow in your hand and it will not bite you unless you pushed its head down on your hand.

Black is stylish and I love it. I would suggest not wearing black stockings, etc. Do you have any bright colors you could add such as a cloth rose (very stylish)or some bright jewelry to offset the black. Try a thrift store for a bright bag or shoes. I just did that and found a pretty pink bag with black trim for a couple of dollars. That should offset the black. Just try not to go "totally black" but if you have to, so be it. Just wear a "smile" and have a great time! Life is temporary, enjoy it.

Don't worry about it. My sister wore black for 15 years when she was teenager and throughout her 20s; one of my nieces starting wearing black when she was in junior high. The niece is an RN and neither of them has ever done anything weird or satanic in their lives.
Some people love black - personally, I avoid it like the plaque, don't even buy black shoes or purses.

and copperheads have a distinct head as do most poisonous snakes (triangular/diamond shape). Copperhead bite is not fatal by any means and usually not even treated with any antivenom....dogs around here just get treated with antibiotics. Cottonmouths are very aggressive and from the sounds of it, it is not cottonmouth.

Looking for black keyboard that letters don't rub off.
Been through several, haven't found one yet that numbers didn't rub off. I have this one approximately 2 weeks from Logitec and I can see signs already where the letters and faiding.

Not a black or white thing
Am white, use reckon and fixin to, these are just southern expressions I grew up with. So funny told hubby I was gonna take my bath- he said well that was really rude. My grandson piped up and said everyone in his family took a bath. What a laugh that got! I told hubby the other day not gonna do something, just like beating a dead horse and spinning my wheels, no use. Gosh I wish I could think of more but mind is sorta blank on these at this time.
Visible black characters (VBC)
As of the recent AHDI/AAMT annual meeting, it appears that the method of line-counting known as VBC (visible black characters) is becoming a trend.
All MTs should read the following report from Perspectives in HIM, February 14, 2007.

To summarize: counting by VBC results in a 31.5% reduction in line count, compared to the traditional 65-line (with spaces) count.
Thus, to avoid a pay cut, any MT now earning 9 cpl should be raised to 11.8 cpl if line counting is switched to VBC.
This is a critical issue, and it does not appear that AHDI is taking any action to promote fair pay for MTs under VBC compensation plans.
