Different fonts is why you are having a problem. sm

You need to use two different styles. The default document paragraph style would be one font, then create or modify one of the existing styles for the header/footer with another font. Do all of this in the template (.dot file) so it does not affect other documents.

I have five accounts and they all use different fonts but when I do my line count -- since I am gross line I change to Courier 12 and do my gross line count as that is what I base my line rate on. Have never had a problem with doing it this way and in 18 years have never had an account question my line count. They just pay and say thank you. But one account uses Arial 10, two uses Times Roman 12 and my psych accounts uses different fonts for different reports. So to be standard and fair to all that is what I do. Like I have said many times, am lucky to have the accounts that do not question their invoices and pay within 48 hours.

I work from home for Cymed and can type in any font I want or enlarge a font because report goes to hospitals in whatever font they have selected as their default. I just love this because I can type in bigger font, easier to read while typing, and don't have to worry about it.

Three accounts use Times Roman, one uses Arial 10, two let me use whatever font I want that makes the consult look good. No standard as far as I am aware.
fonts most certainly do matter and do....sm
I remember having a private neurologist who wanted Ariel 11 and at that time I only had access to 10 point fonts.....Fonts take up space in a line, and if you use Ariel 11 or 12, you are getting more characters into an inch of space.
Courier 10 or any other font #10 is the standard and customary font in my area for nearly 3 decades...outside of that one neurologist, who then demanded a 5 line credit on every report (for one year that I kept her as one of my accounts). By the end of the year, I figured it out and I lost $1000 with that 5-line credit for each report. The following year I gave her 3 options......One was to keep her at 12 cpl but with no 5-line per report credit, the second was to up her to 13 CPL with the 5-line per report credit, and the third option I gave her (and secretly hoped she would take, which she did) was to PULL THE ACCOUNT! She was such a nasty, negative, young WITCH that I couldn't wait to give up that account....and today I make sure to tell the public NEVER to see her as a neurologist and refer to other neurologists in the community. (payback is a *ITCH, now isn't it?)
EditScript 8 Fonts
Anyone know how to change fonts in EditScript 8? I just upgrade from 6 and the toolbar options for Word no longer work.
Thanks
Line counts and Fonts?
I have a clinic account that has asked me to use Bookman Old Style font with a 10-pitch for the text using a 65-character line counter with spaces. Does the pitch size (i.e. 10 versus 12) affect how many characters are on a line? If so, should I be charging more for 10 pitch versus 12 pitch?! I am rather confused by this whole topic. I thought if you were counting spaces and characters, that the pitch does not matter? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA
Even with AC, you need to use templates with default fonts so you sm
aren't constantly switching back and forth. Instant Text will work the same way so you don't have to save half a dozen entries just to get the correct font.
That way keeps the same font and I work with different fonts so
I use the commands instead.
I've been seeing a lot on this board about fonts and font size affecting line counts and I was...
wondering how this is possible? I mean if your lines are based on a 65 character line then what difference does the font type or size make? I mean, a character is a character whether it's type in Arial, Times New Roman, or Courier.
I use MP Count to count my lines and I decided to do a little test. I typed a document and saved in Arial 10 and 12 font type and size, Times New Roman 10 and 12 font type and size, and Courier 10 and 12 font type and size. And then I ran a line report on each individual document counting lines by 65 characters per line strict (no spaces) and came up with 24 lines each time in each font type and size.
There was an MT below who was saying she types in Arial for her client, but bills them for Courier like it made a difference in the lines. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't see how it makes any difference at all.
