PERFECT ANSWER to anyone so rude as to speak to another person in this way.
I could go on and on. My husband is a minister and you would not believe the bunk that he hears from other ministers and those in "higher" administrative positions within the church. We just smile and do exactly what you said. Or we say, "why don't you call my office for an appointment and we can discuss this further" - and they never do.
Administrator who is this person that keeps coming on with all these rude and nasty comments.
:
I work for the person. I know. Very excellent person, personally and business-sense.
It is an INSULT to have QA hovering over seasoned MTs who know what they are doing. She trusts her MTs and again if there are questions there is one person, a trainer, who can answer them via phone, e-mail or instant message or you can send the whole report to them if you choose.
Point was is the person willing to make up for the slack of the person who types 1 job when there is
if that is all they WANT to type. Is the person who wants to be a supervisor willing to make up for those people?
You have crap supervisors, editors and mts in the business like you have good ones. Sadly, the really good ones of all of them are few and far between.
When you have a QA person that is picky and another QA person that is very lenient where does that
leave the MTs because some are getting a lenient reviewer and others are getting one that picks at everything. How do you reconcile that issue with the difference in QA mentality. Some people make out well and the other people could be just as good but dont. I wonder about that.
The person MTSO pays is the person who

One person's "custom" is another person's
"house arrest". I'd never go to the Middle East because of how they treat women. I don't agree with their laws or "justice" system. For example, the woman who was gang raped as punishment for the actions of her 12-year-old brother, a boy who wasn't even an adult. How's that for a "custom"? Let's not forget bride burning. Burqas.
Besides, foreigners don't follow our "customs" when they come to this country. Half of them don't even bother learning English. Instead, we're expected to pay for healthcare and foodstamps for illegals and print everything in Spanish.
I won't be oppressed or treated as a second class citizen, and I wouldn't treat others like that either. A "custom" is more like putting up a Christmas tree, not being abused based on your gender.
i'm sure it will vary from person to person.
I recently did the same thing and am loving it! The freedom from time clocks, the better company, make losing the benefits well worth it to me. You need to set up a plan to have $ set aside for taxes though. I should have done this years ago!
Wrong person. I'm not the person you were
any money. You have a sucky attitude, a "poor me" attitude. Get off your lazy whiny a$$ and work instead of complaining and you will make money. I have one account at 10.5 cpl, two at 14 cpl and one at 15 cpl. I make a lot of money, even on the 10.5 cpl. But I'm not sitting around whining either. And I didn't whine when I made $6 an hour.
Not so sure if it is rude...
A lot of these places just seem extremely disorganized, a real mess. I had 2 places "hire" me for part time work and never got employment papers, contracts or anything until I finally had to ask. Ultimately I did not take either job, cause I figure if they cannot get this together, what happens to the paychecks?
How rude!
You'll be one of those "old, half crippled" MTs one day, young whippersnapper.
yeh thats rude but if you know she's like that
Thats someone I would not want in my life because it would be a roller coaster. Friendships are rare and you need to try really hard to preserve them and if you're doing that, then you deserve someone who will do the same back. I know, hard to find. I also sound a little "short" on the phone (i've been told this several times by dif people) and I explain to them nicely that I do get in this weird zone in that I want to get my work done and i'm still in that zone when the phone rings.
not to be rude, but where are you at that you are able to
Is this someplace you can stay? Just curious.
You don't have to be rude.
If you don't want to help that's fine, but you don't have to be rude. Working late and in a hurry. No time to switch from board to board. I rarely ask for help anyway but I am in need tonight. I have spent too much time already looking for it myself.
YOU ARE SO RUDE!
x
Well, I think YOU are trying to be rude...
and I don't appreciate it. PEEP = People. Obviously U R not up on 21st century slang!
You are rude.
x
that was a rude way to put it
I understand what they mean, but that was rude. I tried to train a lady in her 60s and after 40 solid hours of just trying to teach her to save files, I gave up. In the process, when I asked her what was on her desktop, she hesitated and said "uhhhhh...my coffee." You'd think everybody would have a basic fund of knowledge since we haven't used typewriters for at least 20 years now, but some just cannot grasp it.
Are you always this rude?
You can have degrees coming out of your ying yang, but it doesn't make you better than any other person. You've failed miserably at learning the most important lesson of all along the way: How to treat people.
So get over yourself. Someday you're going to slip off your self-erected superior pedestal and break that special finger that you flash at everyone.
Why are you being rude?
I don't understand. Haven't I been through enough?
Not trying to be rude. It is just sad that this
person has this much experience and does not know these simple rules. Obviously they have never bothered to stay updated, which in our business is mandatory.
No one has been rude to her.
Again, you really should stop trying to start flames. It's very juvenile of you. Don't you have something to do, like transcribe, or maybe you could start an early dinner, your favorite, burgers on the grill, chips, and root beer!!! Or maybe you could do something you've needed to do for a long time but keep putting off: TAKE A CHILL PILL AND CHILL OUT before you pop a vessel! GHEESH!
Maybe they were rude, but DH should have
told them not to come and the problem would have been eliminated before it started.
So sorry. That was rather rude..sm..
and unprofessional. Don't take one person's opinion. Get more experience in-house where someone can mentor you. Then branch out independently on your own at home again. Good luck to you.
Did not mean to be rude
Did not mean to be rude but it seems like this is so often stated that as an IC "you pay your own taxes and as an employee you do not" that I just though I would emphasize that you do not pay your own taxes, you withhold your own taxes as an IC. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
but day one? to be so rude? nm
nm
How rude! Perhaps you should
stick to minding your own business. She wasn't asking for your opinion of her skills. She knows she has the skills.
Please, I don't mean to be rude, but who now
nm
You are very rude and know nothing
at all about my situation. I left there by choice, they begged me to stay and have even called me since I left to ask that I come back - doesn't sound like I couldn't cut it to me. I do not now, nor have I ever worked as an IC, not that that has anything to do with anything.
This is very rude!
I don't suppose you ever missed a typo on anything you ever posted!
How Rude

rude
That was rude!! I don't spell check my IMs, e-mails or posts on this board but I sure as heck spell check my work before I upload it, as I am sure the OP does... Spell check police GO AWAY!!!!
How Rude
Does that make MTs...what? typists??
Don't judge until you walk a mile in our shoes. You don't even know the C*R*A*P we have to deal with day in and day out. Especially from subpar MTs who think our only job is to fill in the blanks they are unable or unwilling to.
Not everyone is as conscientious as you seem to be. Most do not bother to transcribe the "bulk of the work" but decide to leave it to us in QA who, after all, do nothing but fill in blanks all day.
I suggest you get a better understanding of what QA's role is. QAing is a very difficult job and one that not everyone is qualified to do. Certainly not lazy MTs who can't be bothered to do their own research.
I can see where you might think she was being rude...
but I try not to take posts too personally...have a good one :)
Why so rude
Why are you being so rude to me? All I can speak about is myself, and what I am doing. I wasn;t being rude to you or anyone else. Guess you have nothing better to do or no one else to take your crap out on, I was under the impression this was a place where adults gathered.
so rude
Having a bad day? Does it make you feel better to be an ass to me?
I was only commenting on my experience which is all any of us can do.
And as far as my kids... who says YOU are good enough to even refer to them! Yep, I feel better being an ass to you.
Can we get back to being adults now? :)
She is not being rude but she is sm
telling the truth. Unfortunately on this board sometimes no one wants to hear the truth or they are offended by it. Wonder why that is?
LOL, but to the rude ones.....sm
Thank you....not! :D
So either way is OK. :D
No its NOT rude! You are defending that you don't need to
OBVIOUSLY you do - in 5 words, you spelled one wrong! And on the subject line! So, you disprove your own point - you, yourself, make careless errors that your eyes don't pick up on typing the keystrokes! You're rude for not even admitting your own shortcomings - that you're a human!
What a rude reply. NM

Oh, please! Nowhere was I nasty or rude.
Did I call her names or belittle her like a lot of you do on this board? No, I merely asked how she knew she was being trained wrong and stated what my experience has been. MTs need to be adaptable. That's the best thing a newbie can do is to learn to be flexible according to the rules of the accounts she's put on. Wouldn't you agree? Honestly, if you're that hypersensitive to think that I was nasty or rude, you need to toughen up. All I did was ask a question and state some facts. I wasn't judgmental or condescending at all, like many others I see here.
to the LOL/rude poster
Just who do YOU think you are? Gods gift to the MT world? You can voice your "expert" opinion, argue facts, etc but you do NOT need to be so friggin rude! Just shows your age and mentality to have to resort to making yourself seem oh so much smarter than the others
No ma'am - YOU are the rude one here!
You asked for the rudeness with your condescending remarks about US MTs. If you start a flame, you need to be prepared for the heat.
I am not rude nor do I cuss at them...
I am actually very polite to them, but I simply tell them why I will not be speaking with them. I think companies would get a clue if NOBODY would talk to their offshore workers.
I don't blame the workers a bit, but I still don't feel the need to deal with them just because they are not the root of the problem.
excuse me, how rude
I do not believe she asked for any help, maybe just a kind ear which you seem to be in short supply of.
You are so rude. That's your response to everything, isn't it?
"OPEN YOUR MIND!" OPen your own mind. You just don't get it. Try taking an economics course because you are the one with the closed mind. You're not seeing the big picture about how Walmart is harmful to a community. No, you may not see an immediate return on your investment when you spend with the smaller businesses. However, the money spent with the smaller businesses STAYS in the community. They spend locally instead of siphoning the money out of the community.
Isn't it? And to be so rude at the same time.
x
You must not have a grip to be a tad rude by
saying get a grip people. I still do not believe it. Show me the money and only then will I believe it. Also, when I get offered more than 6-9 cpl for straight transcription will I believe it.
Yes you were rude to come back and say that.
x
yep, people are rude
I've had many experiences in fast food with people thinking they can just talk to me any way they please because i'm behind the register and they are having a bad day.
One place was Dunkin Donuts. This was my first week on the job (I lasted two weeks). These drunk girls came in late one night, and thought it would be fun to pick out doughnuts, have me put them in the box, then change their mind. I was back and forth with this for about 20 minutes, and they were having a good old time. It was humiliating to say the least.
Another was at Jack in the Box. Also my first week, they had me on the front counter AND drive through. That night, unbeknownst to the manager, was the Garth Brooks concert. It was me and the cook, and a line of cars wrapped around the place and in the front. Anyways, since it was just me (getting the orders wrong left and right trying to go fast...people are so picky, wanting no pickle or pickle added, they do not know there is no key on the register for that, so I basically winged it)the people had long waits, and a very angry man and his son pull up and give me an ear full...WE'VE BEEN WAITING 20 MINUTES FOR A COKE AND A DIET COKE...just swearing, yelling, and was just in a rage over this. I tried to apologize, nothing seemed to work, I couldn't calm this guy down. He slams the money down in my hands, i give him his cokes and throw his change at him running out crying. That was the last day I did fast food after working at it for about five years.
Working for the public really stinks, and its no wonder people at McDonalds are so darn rude, I really don't blame them!
No . . everyone came down on her because of her rude and condescending
