Did you know that not everyone can get direct deposit for their businesses? sm

There are a lot of factors, and banks will not take on a small company. They want to provide services for bigger companies that have a lot of money going through their accounts.
I deal with one of the biggest banks in the country and they will not let me do direct deposit until we deposit over $100,000 per month or it is not worth it for them.
The smaller banks in my area do not even offer it.
All I can do is get checks out on time and correctly.

MQ direct deposit
On Friday if payday on Saturday. On Monday if pay day Sunday. .
MQ direct deposit
As a rule, when the pay date is on Sunday I usually have my deposit in the account on Saturday a.m. The last pay date I think fell on a Saturday and that was deposited on Friday a.m.
They don't do direct deposit for IC's.
Nobody at SS answered my e-mails.
Direct Deposit
Independent contractors cannot receive direct deposit typically as a standard course of events, I am told, because that would be treating them like an employee, and not appropriate for the IRS and accounting purposes.
Direct deposit
I would love direct deposit! I have worked for many services as an IC and most offer it but currently do not have it. I miss it so much!
no direct deposit either...this is what I do...
I'm an IC for 2 companies that don't provide direct deposit and I just found that waiting on snail mail to bring my check was too undependable. I now have my checks sent overnight. Sure I have to pay for the charge of it but it is worth knowing when my money will be here. Most companies will do this if you ask them to and they just deduct it from your pay. I don't know your situation but I am able to use this expense on my taxes each year, so I definite feel that it is worth it.
Direct deposit - do you have it?
At my present job, I do not have direct deposit. I really miss it. It's frustrating me. A small thing, yet irritating!
Do you have DD?
Direct Deposit
I also have direct deposit. I get paid every other Thursday, and by Thursday morning my check is in my account. That's just my experience. Maybe you should call the company and see if there's a problem. Has it ever been late before?
If you get direct deposit set up
(if your company offers it), then you won't have to wait for snail mail. But no company is going to predict what day your check is going to hit your mailbox. Pay day is the day checks are cut and sent out.
No direct deposit, huh?

direct deposit??
I have never done this kind of work before and signed up to work with a lady from qmedet solutions. She wants my bank account number to direct deposit my check. I am leary of doing this because she didn't check references or want to see a resume. We emailed back and forth, she called me to explain the job and then requested my personal information. Is this the way everyone works?
direct deposit??
I have never done this before and wanted to know if this sounds legit. I placed my job information on a site for MTs. I received an email from a lady who works for qmedet solutions saying that she wanted to hire me. We emailed back and forth about whether I was interested and then she called me to discuss the job. She then emailed me forms to fill out my personal information including my bank account number for direct deposit. I just want to make sure that this is normal because she didn't get any personal references from me nor did she request any kind of resume.
MQ direct deposit on Friday, is NOT
correct! Is paid on the 10th and 25th, if those dys fall on a Sat/Sun, then your check does not go in until the following Monday...how it is & how it's always been.
As other's advised, check the 2005 payroll schedule, maybe print it out for your referrences?
About offering direct deposit.
Klaar is getting ready to offer direct deposit (again). Oh boy, gotta wonder if they formerly offered it, then canceled it, and are ready to offer it again (soon).
EVERY MTSO CAN get direct deposit
There are many payroll management companies that offer this service for a small fee. Do a Google search for ADP, Paychex, Gorrie Reagan.....THere are several.
Even if you cannot get it done via your bank, there are many other ways it can be done. Having to wait on a paycheck to come in the mail is very difficult for most of us. I also spend $50 a month to have my check overnighted. I am currently looking to move to a company who DOES offer direct deposit.
Used to be by check, now direct deposit.

Love my direct deposit. nm

I wouldn't know what to do without direct deposit...
The money is always there when it's supposed to be and if you want to go on vacation or something you don't have to worry about getting your paycheck and going to the bank. I have never had a problem with DD and I have been using it for 12+ years.
Love direct deposit, too! sm
I've had it for the last 10 years, everywhere I have worked. Never a problem. I'm more leery of getting checks in the mail now, since some of my mail comes opened, like my check stub today. I do most of my banking and bill paying online now. I feel safer with that than the mail anymore. Hubby used to have direct deposit at his old job but not at this job. With direct deposit, it's usually posted when I get up in the morning. I have to wait to go to the bank when he gets home from work around 4:30. What a pain.
Question about direct deposit
I have direct deposit with my company. We get paid the 15th and 30th. Today is the 21st and I still don't have a deposit. I thought the money goes in quicker with direct deposit. Before I complain, just wondered if this was normal.
For anyone who has ever done direct deposit, why does it sometimes come right away in the morning an
odd but I have never done DD so dont really understand how it is routed through the fed and the bank.
Nope. I had direct deposit and
It was in the bank 2-3 days before actual payday. I worked for them almost a year. BTW, Nuance (American company) bought them out over a year ago.
What does Indymac have to do with your MT direct deposit? sm
Sounds more like they want to hold on to their money a few extra days.
in your bank account by direct deposit OR
just showing up in ipay? Mine says assistance with verification available at ________ . . . . THIS IS NOT A CHECK -- void non-negotiable.
Is the money in your bank today 09/02/2005?
Time to sign up for direct deposit.
Only way to go. My mail"girl" delivers usually at 11:30 a.m., but on her days off I don't get the mail sometimes until after the bank is closed.
If your company doesn't offer direct deposit, the I guess the only thing you can do is sit and wait for the mail. Frustrating, isn't it?
MTSOs who DO NOT offer direct deposit
MTSOs who do not offer direct deposit...please consider contacting a company like ADP or Paychex or your bank in order to find out that offering such a service is not very expensive. I was offered a job by a company in MA and did not accept it when I found out they did not offer direct deposit.
Many MTs are struggling financially. This would be a tremendous help (direct deposit) and also make your company more appealing to potential employees/ICs.
No true. ICs can have direct deposit but it is called
an ACH transfer. Same thing. Kind of like when you pay a bill on line from your bank.
We have both ICs and employees, and we cleared this with our lawyer and the IRS.
LOL! You forgot direct deposit info. ;-) nm

most companies are using direct deposit now I thought. (nm)

Most often direct deposit into your account or a regular mailed check. nm

Don't be afraid to do direct deposit. Your company has no way of accessing your account
I've used direct deposit from the first time it was offered with MRC over 10+ years ago. I've never had a problem.
I've always worked for nationals and had direct deposit so I have not experienced this.
I understand your plight, but like you, I have bills to meet and they would not understand for cut me slack if I was late on my payments. So, the first time a check was late, I would just excuse it as an oversight, but if it happened again, I'd politely walk away and neer look back. I think it's rude and unnecessary to treat others that way. Unfortunately too many small MTSO seem to have this problem balancing the checkbook from the sounds of thing on here.
MQ - direct deposit always in acct. Fri. if pay date falls on Sun. anyone having this problem 2day?
nm
I live in PA. I dont have Ipay. I got the actual check in the mail not on direct deposit. It said
they miscalculated the lines and sorry for the inconvenience. I have been on DQS for 2 years and now they send a check for miscalculating the lines.
I would, but they ran out all the smaller businesses here. nm

cleaning for businesses
Definitely pays more and there is less grunge to clean. You vacuum, empty trash cans and easy. Probaby depending on the size of the office, good money
friends of mine pay house cleaners once or twice a week, $75 for half a day.. the hispanics do about 2 or three hours and leave to another job.
Ummm, some MT's run their own businesses...
which was exactly the kind of advice she was asking for..
your life may be narrowed down to only MT but some of us do much, much more
They are running businesses SM
and a new MT is costly to train in the way you want. As far as making sure EVERY report is 98% or better, I'm sorry but there is no medium or large company doing that. As long as MTs are paid on production, errors are going to be made. I think you probably need to focus your attention on the work you are doing, don't bother with other people's reports. As for people working more than *they should be,* again, production is the key and the more an MT types, the better their paycheck is and the better the supervisor likes them.
Businesses also have people to
answer to. They hire for when they need people to work. If they cannot accommodate the schedule an individual wants, then that person just needs to look elsewhere.
Outsourcing affecting other businesses...
My husband's co-worker's wife is losing clients to cheaper labor overseas. She owns an advertising company and would charge $25,000 per client, and now they're paying $600 for the same thing, but not here. She has lost about $100,000, and they are struggling now. These people have tapped into something that is really hurting our country. I'm afraid for our kids' future and what they might not have, nevermind ours. I just thought I'd throw this out there. I know this is nothing new to hear.
? for small in-home businesses
I am looking into adding a 1-800 number to my system, DH thinks that you pay for the minutes you use, is this correct? One of my Transcriptionist travels to my house to work, which is 45 minutes away from her's.
I think it is how businesses is done. Hospitals are always looking for a better deal
Since all transcription services "GUARANTEE" turnaround time with complete accuracy a hospital will try to find the rock bottom rate they can get the work done for. Since they don't deal directly with the Transcriptionist they are going to look to the company that will insure them quality work at the lowest price possible. The service cannot make a profit if they keep reducing their prices to secure/keep a client so they have no choice but reduce compensation. It is such a competitive business so if a service is willing to do it for less but still provide turnaround and quality that is the service that is awarded the account. It just trickles down to the transcriptionist basically taking what is offered because they are not doing the negotiating. I think the trend is keep cpl as low as they can but making speed and quality mandatory. If you want to be considered for employment because of this competitiveness a transcriptionist has to accept this as not a field where wages are rising...if anything they are going down. It baffles me because all in all other health fields, salaries are going UP. With transcription salaries are other going down or the rate is the same as it was 15-20 years ago but the quality standards are much higher...that is the difference - the standard of quality but not the pay. It is the trend of the industry. It is considered such an advantage to work out of your home and be afforded a flexible schedule that of course you are willing to take less plus combine that with the threat of having your job outsourced because "you make too much and others including other countries will work for much lower wages" it seems that lowering cpl will continue as the trend.
I don't want the govt telling businesses how
That is MY privilege to negotiate with my employer!
Too much interference by governments already by forcing minimum wage, etc.
You'll have businesses closing down if you put too much mandatory regulation in the mix. It's a free enterprise, you know.
I got your point. I already knew that. Fact is, most businesses sm
in other areas give benefits. We all know that holidays are given at the discretion of any business. The fact is though that most businesses do offer them off in other areas, hospitals do, and why wouldn't an MTSO want to make her employees more attracted to her service? That is my point. I understand your point. I had a point too. :)
Yes, I would be very angry. Men do not run businesses with emotions - they don't care! nm

many businesses are doing credit checks before they hire. Some of the reasons are
for example, an employee with a very bad credit rating, carrying a lot of debt might be deemed to be a greater risk for financial problems, such as embezzling. Also, if one cannot handle one's own finances, tends to show that perhaps they can't handle other responsibilities, particularly supervisory duties. Just what I've heard in the business columns...
Do you expect businesses to cease operating because the U.S. work force refuses to provide services?
What will be wanted is that the immigrants pay taxes and that there are no outlaws coming and going. This is all about taxes.
Heartland requries no fee no deposit..nm
..
In my state, you can attempt to deposit the
try that, so if it bounces 3 x, she have 3 bounced check fees to pay, rather than 1. HAHAHA
In future, require a deposit sm
equal to the cost to replace the equipment and put in a contract that the deposit will be returned within 2 weeks of receiving equipment in good condition. Anyone who truly intends on returning the equipment will have no problem paying a deposit, especially when the terms are in writing.
I'm going to deposit mine. However, I make this suggestion...sm
to those who are worried this may preclude you for further settlement money. Above your signature on the back of the check, or even below your signature, write something in to the effect "This is NOT to represent final disposition of future settlement" or something to that effect. That way, there is legal documentation that you are not signing away any future rights to anything you might be owed in case of a larger settlement.
