Did the same thing just this month from the wireless optical Logitech to the trackball

Posted By: Big difference in comfort. May take longer to hit on 2006-01-22

I now keep my hands very much in their most natural anatomical position while rested on the keyboard and mouse (I do QA anyway). Fingers are no longer as tense as they used to be with my optical.

The Microsoft Wireless optical keyboard has greatly eased SM
The Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 keyboard (came packaged with wireless mouse at Staples), box says "standard keyboard + optical mouse) has greatly, greatly relieved symptoms on my elbows and wrists.

My elbows just stung before I got this keyboard. If I relax and kind of let it do what it wants, kind of get used to its touch, I really like it. It has greatly helped my elbow symptoms in particular.
I have the Logitech wireless and love it.
!
I pay $40 a month unlimited wireless broadband...
And I work on Bayscribe for two different MTSOs. I never have a problem and have no limit to 5GB or anything. It's through a company called Cricket if there are any in your area. I also have dial-up as backup just in case weather conditions interfere with my wi-fi connection (Bayscribe works great with dial-up, too, BTW!).

I, too, can't at this time afford satellite or cable, so I'm making do with wi-fi and dial-up and saving myself about $25 a month. It doesn't sound like a lot but in this economy, every little bit I can put back in my pocket helps.

Good luck!!!
Went thru Same Thing 2 years ago this month!
PLEASE be very careful. I know you're worried, but PLEASE contact an attorney ASAP.  Go thru your state if you need a low cost attorney or free one. The same EXACT THING happened to me 2 years ago to this month.  We had a landlord who we rented from for over 10 years, and then he held a mortgage for us. All was checked on by lawyers and was on the up and up.  Anyhoo, we never got behind, but the market in our town tripled in 1 years' time.  We had settled on a price of 179,900, I believe, and the next year the market boomed in our area.  The house was now worth around $400K, or so the landlord dreamed.  This SCUM, who was a very seasoned landlord/mortgage holder filed papers BEHIND OUR BACKS, declaring that we were months and months behind on the mortgage, and hadn't paid him a cent.  Total lie, and we laughed cause he TOLD us via the phone that he wanted to resell the house and make some real $$$ and that we were "schmucks".  I called an attorney, who knew my scumlords' attorney. This lawyer begged me to give up and get out ASAP, as this lawyer was crooked and would pull anything to get us out, as it was happening all over the county to hundreds of families.  I went thru legal aid, had all my paperwork supporting our case, including the obvious cancelled checks.  Know what he did? His lawyer had someone in the Court Clerk's office who was "paid off", and the whole case was scheduled before a judge and I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE til it was all over.  I could NOT believe this happened to me, in AMERICA, no less. I lost my home and most of my friends and even family.  NO ONE believed us that we had not missed 1 stupid payment! Two years later, now they know the truth, but its too late for us - it was the most terrifying, humiliating, frustrating experience I have ever lived thru.  All is well 2 years later and I am SO much happier where we are now - and renting, too!!  Just like another poster said, I call the landlord if its breaks! And this new landlord mentioned to us that we were "such great tenants, he would be willing to hold the mortgage for us". We freaked out and said NO THANKS!!  This is a very brief summation, but suffice it to say that as long as the mortgage is held privately by a person, that person can be really crooked and do whatever they want. I never thought it could happen, but it sure happened to me, and I'm no legal slouch, either!  Good luck to you.
Try a trackball
they don't need so much room to move around...
No, I haven't. I use a trackball. sm
It's made by Logitec and can be used either right or left. Just rest my hand on it, and the only things I move are my fingers. Noticed big relief when switching from mouse to trackball.
touch screen - trackball mouse
I transcribe for an orthopaedic MD/surgeon, and he always suggests to patients with carpal tunnel problems to use a trackball mouse instead of the standard.  Just a thought if the other good ideas don't work out.
I bought an optical mouse because I couldn't stand
the roller ball mouses. Mine would do that as well, but cleaning it would not help. I love my optical mouse!
Hi Amanda from WV (I once lived in Morgantown!). No drivers to download, has a USB optical device.
:)
I pay $35/month through Vonage for unlimited LD. Local phone co. charges $50/month. NM

Logitech (sm)

I was in the same boat.  I tried the Logitech DiNovo keyboard, which has the absolutely best touch on the market that I have tried.  But just right at the month mark, the space bar started sticking.  So I returned it.  I then got the Logitech S510.  The touch isn't quite as nice, but it is very soft.  It is cordless, which is another benefit.  It comes with a cordless mouse as well.  The only "problem" with it that I would change if I could, is that it isn't ergonomically shaped, not big and bulky or shaped with the split shape, but I love the touch.  Not having the keyboard split actually makes the reach shorter, and I don't have the problems there.

Also what I do, ergonomically wise, is I bought 2 of the IMAK ErgoBeads wrist rest.  I use on on top of the wrist rest part of the keyboard, so I can rest my wrists on it, and it keeps them elevated.

The other IMAC rest I use on the floor, so keep my heel from pressing into the floor under my foot pedal.  I use a foot rest, so the pedal is elevated up on that and the pad is on the floor beneath it.  Keeps my heels from hurting.

Hope this helps.

P.S.  Try going to Staples to find the Logitech selections.  I think find they're way superior to the MS ones in their touch.  Not spongey.

Logitech
I got the Logitech (can't remember exactly which one) but it was cheap, cheap, and has a softer click, not completely gone but better than many I have tried, Microsoft included even their 4000. I did not like that one. I have gone through 2 Logitechs and like better than any other. I spilled water on the keyboard so be careful, it will never be able to be used again.
Logitech G15
Try the Logitech G15. Backlit, programmable keys.
Logitech cordless has a very .sm
light touch and the divided keyboard with the rise in the middle.  I absolutely love mine.  You can the set with keyboard and cordless mouse for $100.00.  I got mine at a local computer shop, but you can order it from the Logitech web site.

Is this the one you have? I have it and it's the first time I have had a keyboard where they didn't fade. The letters are sort of raised and almost look like stickers on the keys, can't explain it, but I have had this for more than 6 months and it still looks brand new! Not a bad price either.
logitech wavepro
Does anyone have this keyboard  and if so can you share some insight concerning battery issues?  i read where you can keep charging the battery while you work.  My question is it necessary then to replace the batteries at any time?  I need to purchase a keyboard for a new laptop and I really like the ergonomic keyboards and would purchase this if it is not costly with having to purchase batteries all the time.  thank you so much for any info :)
I like plain ol' Dell or Logitech.
I need a keyboard with a light touch, but I also like one that is clicky, if you know what I mean by that.
Does anybody use the diNovo Logitech keyboard? nm

Same here, I have a Logitech and the letters are worn off, SM
and that seems to happen to all my keyboards. I use canned air and that helps keep the keys loose. I hate having to break in a new keyboard, dont you?
New Logitech Wave Keyboard...anyone have this??
I am interested to see if anyone has used this keyboard yet...thanks...
I have the Logitech Wave and I love it...

Logitech 'scissor switch' keyboard
I bought a keyboard about 5 months ago that has the same "touch" as my laptop keyboard. I think they call it a scissor switch keyboard.

I fell in love with my laptop keyboard and was so excited to be able to find one for my PC at a computer trade show. It is so much quieter than my other ones!
I use a Logitech Y-SX49 keyboard. It is not very expensive at all (sm)
In fact, I just ordered a new one after having the first for a couple of years and wearing out the G key of all things. The key type you are looking for is called scissor switch. That is the kind of keyboard a laptop has. My keyboard is just a basic keyboard with a large backspace key (a must for me) and ran about $25 via the internet.
Love my Logitech Wave keyboard sm

It's not as split apart as the tons of other ones I've tried over the years, it's wireless and comes with a wireless mouse as well, smaller than most others, and not as high to fit on my keyboard drawer.  I saw it at Costco here in Washington the other day; not sure if they carry it at all Costcos or not.

If you are talking about the Logitech Wave, I have that and love it...
very comfortable and there is not an adjustment period like you have with some of the others...
My Logitech cordless is 5-years-old and works fine - sm
despite tons of garbage in it, though I do try to turn it upside down and shake out the crumbs from time to time, and blow it out with a duster. I also pop off keys and clean under them with a duster that way too. Though almost messed up my shift key, put it back on wrong and it would not work, but figured it out and now it is fine. Bought those stickers to put on the keys where the letters had worn off, but the D is damaged now, looks like someone (not me) dropped something on the keyboard as the D, E and C all are damaged/have marks on the, The D being the worst though, big chunk of it is gone. But still going srong. Would like a softer touch keyboard though, this one is very hard, but maybe that is the key to its longevity? Something to think about (I work ~40-60 hours a week).
My function keys do not work on my Logitech keyboard, sm

I bought a new keyboard, does anyone know how to test function keys?

Its the cheap keyboards. I bought Logitech G15 gamer's, heavy, sits in one place, so I don't have to move all the time. It was $79 and really much better than those little things that you spend your time with your hands trying to keep in place and your body trying to compensate for the keyboard moving all over the place-- Try it, you'll like it-- or any other HEAVY, GAMER's keyboards. Plus I love the touch on this, much more like touch-typing than monitoring those itty bitty light-weight keyboards that I used to have to watch where I was all the time (fingers) because they moved all the time. Hope this helps!
Ebonics: Not a black thing or white thing. (sm)

I don't think there's any cause to get upset or defensive here.  Look it up on line...even colleges are offering courses in Ebonics!  ...well of course they are more sociology-type courses, but still, people are PAYING to learn about the why's and how's of this "other" language.

A quote from one of the sites I found:

"UT-Austin's "Introduction to the Study of African American English," teaches students that the sentence, "Nobody didn't leave" is not "mainstream English with mistakes," but rather a legitimate English dialect. "Ebonics: Myth and Facts" and "African-American English" are both offered at Harvard. Penn and UCLA also promote Ebonics as a legitimate dialect in, "Introduction to African American and Latino English" and "Afro-American Sociolinguistics: Black English," respectively."

1 month and you?
A month - and you?
We have had it for a month. All 5 of us
at one time or another tested positive for Strep. Only got well after antibiotics. But it lingers and flares up for weeks. Our entire town has it, and all for weeks and weeks - actually since Halloween.
If it has been less than a month,
you're probably still on probation, which works both ways. I would review the policy and speak to a supervisor before they invest any more time in training, etc. If you're professional and polite, it will work out.
Since one never knows whom they'll encounter down the road, try to make a graceful exit. Good luck.
I'm 30. 31 next month....
See update below.
a month...
I type 24 hours a week. I am new though and only get paid 7 cents a line right now. Would love to make more too!
$9,500 per month
Oh, I don't like to post my earnings here.  It is such personal information.  And I have you all beat cuz I make 19 cents per line.
My 18 month old was saying....

A month? I do!

how is $288/month better than $57/month?

I got one about a month ago.
It's been all right so far. It was not my first choice, but I needed a laptop in a hurry and didn't want to spend a lot, and Gateways were on sale at Best Buy, so that's what I got. If I had had more time, I would have chosen a Dell or HP, but the Gateway seems all right. A colleague mentioned that his son's school uses Gateway laptops and have been happy with them, so it's probably a safe choice, if you can find one at the right price.
One month
I took one month off, but wish I would have taken a little longer.
I have been looking for about a month
and finally I got 2 offers, but 1 company I've heard nothing about and the other I've heard good and bad things about. I really need to be working and don't know what to do. It's a bad time for everyone it seems.
as of June, I'm at 47,000 and that was with one month off!

Is it just me? Started DQS at MQ last month

and although I've read over and over that MTs that start on DQS start loosing lines, I swear my production has gone up.  For the first couple of weeks, it stayed a little less than normal, then I was moved onto a NEW acct on DQS and I'm always a little amazed how many lines it says I've managed to squeeze out.

Don't get me wrong--not happy about many things going on with this company, and I'm a little nervous.  I'm just a mere SE with not much say in anything.  But the line thing, it's been OK for me.

I agree, especially with a 6 month f/u. SM
Can you call the office and ask the doctor call you back to explain the findings?
Thanks. You know, we have been OUT OF WORK for over a month.

the moment is hard.

And, ha ha, nothing with MQ is fast anymore anyways.  I bet I haven't made over 120 lines an hour in 3 months.  I get bad reports nonstop.  NONSTOP.

It would have been decent of them to have said it was an option instead of pretending like it was mandatory.  Especially since they know we are broke out here from having no work.  And believe me they know we have had no work.

Oh well, just another reason why I can't stay in MT after all these years.  Why do I want to keep "giving" it away.

I adore it. Have had it about a month...
...and it's now the only keyboard for me. I've always used ergo keyboards, but this one has totally negated the pain that I'd get even from those. I use the "booster" part that goes in the front--which seems to be the key, along with the more canted angle of the board. Thank you Microsoft!
Well, I actually pay close to $700 a month..
for health insurance, so wouldn't affect me much. The company will still be based in Houston though. They just have another location in Florida. The gas sounds promising. I was wondering how much for food. How much for bread, milk, etc. Just to get an idea. So far, it just sounds like the homes are what is real expensive there. The gas is comparible to Houston. How much do you pay for home insurance per year? In Texas, the ratio is usually something in the range of you buy a house for $140,000, your monthly bill would be around 1,400 for everything, taxes included. The homes here going for around $130,000-$160,000 look comparable to the homes ranging $260,000-$300,000 there. That is a huge difference.
Only been there a month, but have not ran out of work yet.. more than enough.
Maybe it depends on your account. I have only worked on one account and this one has plenty of work. I have not ran out at all.. usually, the account is even a little behind..
I have a 9yo shih tzu and an 9-month-old
Lab/retriever mix. Beautiful babies!!
