Did anyone watch Frontline last night? I will NEVER shop in Wal-Mart again.

Cheap prices will not mean a thing if the middle class U.S. population is out of work. I'd rather see my neighbors with a job and pay Target prices

LOVE ER!!! I watch the re-runs every day, and watch the new ones on Thursday night!!
/
Well, I did watch it last night
I thought sure it was going to be Claire. Can't imagine what they could do for the finale. They've already done it all. I hope they don't kill anyone else off. Nate sure did leave a mess, like you say. Makes you think about yourself and not wanting to leave such a mess when you go yourself. Maybe I'm just being maudlin, huh? Anyway can't wait for next week. Really got kinda nervous, though watching Brenda and Billy. Glad it was just a dream - whew!
Anyone watch Without a Trace last night?
I fell asleep during the last 15 minutes. Was the missing girl alive? Who killed the first girl? Who killed the man suspected of killing the first girl? This is making me crazy today. It was such a good show and I tried so hard to stay up for the ending, but was exhausted. Had some really bad dictators and sound files all day. Thanks.
frontline
I use my little dog's frontline on my cats. Just make sure you take into consideration the size difference. My dog is 18 pounds, so I would split one of his tubes between 2 of my cats.

I know this is an old message, but if someone else drops in here to get advice:
I'm a chemist and I have an incredibly good vet and both of us have done our research. My veterinarian actually sells me Frontline PLUS for large dogs. It was their idea as cost effective since I have four cats. The Vet recommended the following dosage: 1/2 cc (mL) per cat, unless the cat is huge.
My Maine Coon (13+ lbs) gets 1 whole CC.
We have been doing this for years with absolutely no ill effects. Two of my cats suffer from flea allergies and I start buying this stuff in March and keep it on them till November.
The difference is that Frontline has the exact same ingredients whether it is for Cats or for Dogs. OTHER FLEA TREATMENTS do not. Advantix is a great example, containing a compound that is extremely poisonous to cats (causes seizures and can lead to death).
Can Frontline for dogs be used on cats?
Am short on cash right now and my two cats are needing treatment. Don't want to make them sick and figure that is why cats cannot use dog flea remedies. Wanted to see if anyone had ever done this. I don't want to take any chances with Charles and Cali <meow>
Thanks !!!
URGENT: I called Frontline myself and they said NO, sm
they do not recommend using the dog formula on cats. You have to use the cat formula. In other words, they take no responsibility for off-label use as they call it. Not using the product as directed. Sorry to be a budinsky, but this is scary stuff.
I thought we were talking about Frontline here. NM

Get Frontline for cats from that entirelypets.com - much cheaper - nm

I saw HOWIE last night on a late night episode of Blind Date. too funny.
I'm thinking if they are smart they'll boot Rachel. I think she's really smart and a good player. I don't think Howie is all that smart or able to be a winner. I think this could force Howie to hook up with James to go for the final 2.
Agree with Romey. I use dog Frontline - split one tube between my 4 cats.
My cat veterinarian authorized us to use cat Frontline on our 5-pound tiny toy poodle
She said it goes by size and he's the size of a small cat.
Shop around -- sm
If you don't need something fancy for work, you don't need a lot of the bells and whistles that come with a more exp computer. Dell is cheap though most other brands have lower-priced computers. I would look at Dell.com, Gateway.com, amazon, Best Buy and Circuit City. If you ask you might be able to bundle the printer/scanner/fax deal. Canon's are good, and i have a Brother. If you have more specific questions, feel free to e-mail.
I wouldn't allow it in my shop.
Lordy, what's next? The patient was sent 2 radiology 4 a chest x-ray? God forbid.
Those are the reasons I do shop SM
at Target. I have a huge problem with the Salvation Army's practices (be our religion, go to OUR church, adhere to OUR values, or stay cold), I think our government ought to be the ones supporting the military since they sent them where they are, and as for supporting gay and lesbian rights, I think that is a good thing. I'm not sure exactly how you phrased that.
That's why I don't shop there anymore. sm
Years ago, they had this wonderful vanilla almond lotion. Discontinued. Then a delicious pineapple-mango lotion/body lotion/body butter. I bought it in everything they had. Discontinued. The last time did it for me. Why do they do that!
shop around at the HP site for
small businesses - they have laptops with XP loaded that can be changed out for Vista at a later date if necessary. They worked this out with microsoft to bridge the gap between xp/vista, as companies are not so quick to jump to the change this time.
All prices.
WE go to a sandwich shop
and they call us by name; oh my goodness somewhat might know I'm there for a cheesesteak! I don't fret though! Because no one knows what I ordered.
I've seen other people's names on the lists at offices too, but I try to mind my own business...
Only when the desktop has to go into the shop,
and I have to move operations over to the laptop. I just plug my regular keyboard in, which is a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000. I like this keyboard; it's cheap, so when I inevitably kill it (I am hard on keyboards; must be a hold-over from having learned to type on a manual typewriter back in the stone age) it doesn't cost a lot to replace. (I'm on my second one.) And it has a decent enough touch. The curve is just enough to straighten my wrists out to a neutral position, but not so much that I feel like I'm typing on an alien machine.
Just wondering where you'll shop...
I think Wal-Mart's changes in hiring and benefits is dispicable. Wal-Mart is all we have in the small town we're in. Will you shop at K-Mart or Target, and what store for food? I'll have to go about 30 miles for the nearest K-Mart, but I feel that strong about not shopping at Wal-Mart. I always liked how they had the food store in with the regular retail store, so I'll have to find a grocery store too.
Thanks!
Fine, you shop where you want to and I'll do the same
nm
I know, those all make me want to shop at Target
in my state, there is also this to contend with:

Jees. Ya can't win for losing, can you?
Still shop at Target at little bit (*never* Walmart), but I'm really going to try to make it much more exclusively Costco now.
Ask your local bike shop sm
They have the most bicycle knowledge and are truly helpful. If you can afford to get one, a bike shop bike would be much more practical (and able to actually be repaired) versus a mass-market store bike.
Check to see if there is a consignment shop...
in your area, especially if the children are small, as they outgrow everything so quickly. These are "gently used" clothing at way less than the original price, and are usually listed in the Yellow Pages.
Spi opens shop in Vietnam
The latest newsletter states Spi (formerly Cymed) has opened up shop in Vietnam. I guess they have run out of shops in India and the Philippines. I asked a vet if they speak any better English than the other two and he said NO. I guess I give up on finding a good QA position with headquarters in the good old US of A.
Sweat shop labor
We can all clearly see the run around by various layers of quality control when work goes offshore, and what it really costs. But the thing is that as more and more corporations offshore their products, they are able to skirt strict regulations in the U.S. For instance, as we already see the advantage of India doing transcription while we sleep here in the US, they don't have labor laws as we do. A corporation here in the US dealing with American workers has to deal with lots of regulations such as labor laws, state compensation for injuries for employees, etc. These regulations cost money to the company. In countries like India, China, the Phillipines, there are no labor laws such as in the U.S. If a company says a worker must work 12 hours a day with no benefits or breaks, you can be sure these people will do this, and are sometimes grateful where no job existed before. If working conditions are intolerable, there is no agency that protects the people. You can see how American corporations are motivated to send work offshore and not deal with US regulations and laws that cost the company money. Yes, exploitation at its finest. However, I saw a documentary recently by Lisa Ling on TV where it showed that many women in third world countries are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with working conditions. The documentary followed different women and what they must do to have a job in the city. Many women leave their children far away in another city at home with the grandparents. These women travel and live in the city to work for a few dollars a day. They must work weekends, holidays, and may travel back home once a month to give the money they make to their families. These women were interviewed and were questioning whether having a job far away from a rural town was worth it with no time off for the holidays, and missing their children and families. So you see, these people are getting restless too, and want time off on their holidays and family time just as much as we do. I have no doubt in time there were be a rising in advocacy for labor laws in these countries.
That's ridiculous. You won't shop at Walmart for something that you think you heard
that may or may not be true. You know I'm not a regular Walmart shopper but this is just plain stupid trying to smear a company that employs thousands of older and unfortunate Americans who may not have a job without Walmart. What's your beef with Walmart that you would post junk like this?
Rumor, truth, whatever, I'll still shop
at Wal-Mart because that's where I can afford to go.
It's taco night! (again.....) We had taco pizza last night, southwestern chicken soup before th
Maybe I'll just have a salad.
Shop for a "USB to game port adapter".
Staples, Radio Shack or Office Max should have them. ebay should have them. If not, Google for a seller.
I read in McCalls once that you don't tip for hair if it is owner of shop.

Great post. I swear by both Advantage and Frontline Plus-- both work great! - sm
I don't know about "natural" approaches for the house. I have always used flea bombs in the past before the miracle of Advantage and Frontline changed my life. Have not had a flea problem at all since I began using those products about 10 years ago, dose all the dogs religiously once a month with the Frontline Plus except in Dec.-Feb. to save a few bucks and because the ground is generally frozen by then and no fleas are scurring about. -- Hope you get flea free soon.
My friends with large families shop at Walmart. I don't. I can't compare
prices or taste. These are not ignorant poor folk who don't know better shopping at Walmart. Walmart has definitely cut into the supermarkets business. Bottom line here folks, people are making Walmart successful and they keep growing. Not for nothing are people shopping at Walmart. They have to be offering something to the shopper.
Any tattoo shop mostly, hot topic, sally's beauty supply...SM
Any place that pierces, head shop, etc. Hope that helps.
Awesome! Here, a local computer repair shop has a similar commercial. Its really funny. nm

No more Wal-Mart for me
Did you read the article on how they are going to save money by cutting out full time employees for part-timers, going to hire younger people who don't look sick to save on health insurance costs, etc., making the job requirements include a lot more physical activity to exclude the retirees, etc. I refuse to shop there any more. Wait until all the younger ones turn up pregnant, are on drugs or alcohol and don't show up for work because they were out all night partying the night before. I am so sick of the corporate mentality! They don't give a rip about people any more-- just the almighty dollar so they can buy a new yacht every year.
Wal-Mart.
Point Is???? Walmart/Medquist….Sound The Same To Me….lol. It’s Called ‘Corporate America’…..Get Use To It Ladies, It’s Here To Stay And Growing Like A Giant….(Corporate America That Is; And Wal-Mart Also). I’m Afraid They Are Just Like Every Other Business In America At The Moment. Think It Will Get Better: Dream On!
I Don’t Care What Wal-Mart Does. They Can Hire Children And Beat Them With Wet Grape Vines & Feed Them Vinegar And Piss, I Will Still Shop There. At This Day & Time You Have To Go Where You Get The Most For Your Dollar. If I Were To Boycott Everything That I Had A Problem With, I’m Afraid I Wouldn’t Be Able To Buy Gas, Food, Cigarettes (Right & Left-Handed), Liquor For The ‘Social-Functions’ I Must Put On….Or Attend. Oh, also I Wouldn’t Be Able To Finance Anything…Ever. So In Short, I Must ‘Turn The Other Cheek’ & Suck It Up & In Short I’ll Show The Other Cheek, Through In The Finger From Time To Time And As For Sucking It Up…Use 2 It….No Worries…LOL.
*No Worries
Wal-Mart
Here in the deep south, our Wal-Mart is definitely cheaper than our grocery stores. Winn-Dixie or Sav-A-Center do not hold a candle when comparing prices and I have done this with receipts. Wal-Mart definitely is cheaper on all products here and even though I do not like the hours it takes me, my pocketbook is better off. Had to shop around because DH is disabled and I need all the help I can get.
Wal-Mart
My two cents for what it is worth. Wal-Mart (like all other companies) offer insurance benefits to all of their full time employees. They do not offer to part time employees. This is just regular business practice. Also the statement made about selling insurance through Sam's is just a business decision. And people that do not work at Wal-Mart and do not have insurance, can now buy that insurance at a better price.
Get the facts before you post please. I happen to have family members that work at Wal-Mart and they all have insurance but they are full time employees.
Just saw some in Wal*Mart the other day
But that's one aroma that may be hard to capture!
Wal-Mart
I think the qualifications to work at the Wal-Mart in our town is that you need to have 1 tooth, dirty bra straps hanging down your arm, a tattoo on your neck. That's for the women. It might be different for the men.
shopping at Wal-Mart
Our Wal-Mart Superstore is supposed to be ready by October and it is only 20 blocks from my house. It has been open for about five years and now they are turning it into a superstore. Im ready. I know some of my political friends ask how could I shop there as they dont have benefits for their employees, LOLOLOL, heck, my trans company does not provide me with any benefits either..so, sure I feel the employees pain but I need to provide for my family and that comes first..I cant wait till Wal-Mart Superstore opens, then I can do my grocery and department store shopping all at once while my car is being serviced in their automotive area.
Wal-Mart connection
My nephew has had it for 2 yrs and seems pretty happy with it, even after leaving AOL & MSN, so it seems to be decent.
My dad was a K-mart manager too...
for almost 20 years in the 70's and 80's. He has a four year degree. He is no dummy. Him being a "K-mart manager" afforded us a nice home, nice cars, and my mother was a stay-at-home mom for three kids. Managing and being responsible for a store that big is a lot harder than you think.
Link for Big Box Mart from Jib Jab (see below)
This is quite a chuckle. Then again, the seriousness of it all isn't that funny.

And we thot MQ was the only bad guy!
another Wal-mart hater
Our rural town had a Wal-Mart which ran out all the local business, fabric store, sporting goods store, hardwares, etc. until there was nothing left, got free tax cuts for 20 years then left to build a Super store near by. I can't stand to go into those huge stores. It literally takes hours to shop even for a few things and most of the workers are very rude or not around when you need. I think Sam Walton's heirs got very greedy. I don't think even Paull Harvey (commentator) advertizes for them anymore.
Like I said, I already tried K-Mart and Shopko.
I'm not spending 8 hours a day looking at their ugly selections. They could stock something that wasn't made cheaply overseas and looks it. I skipped WalMart. There is nothing in the yellow pages under curtains. The only listings under draperies and window coverings are two miniblind companies and a fabric store. I don't want blinds or heavy industrial drapes, and I don't have the sewing skills or a machine to make my own. All I want is a simple set of curtains with a valance to keep the sun out of my eyes. Why does everything have to turn into a political or ethical discussion? Talk about being a killjoy when I'm happy about my new office. Besides that, catalog ordering has been around for over a century. Were our ancestors wrong for ordering from Sears & Roebuck?
I live right by the Wal-Mart that...
someone was trampled in last year on BF. I've never had any problems. Everyone seems to be super curteous. (except for the men who are constantly asking their wives if they are done.) Everyone was helping each other find where the deals were located in the store.
Wal Mart on my poo list
I went to Wal Mart as I always do. I wanted the laptop for $386. I work two jobs and really wanted to be able to remove myself from my desk to do personal stuff wherever or do my coding job away while watching tv. They only had 25 of them. I was like 35 in line. I cannot believe that is all they got in. Then I went to get the PS2 Burnout 3 game (I needed two copies) and the Scooby Doo double pack for Gameboy. They did not get extra ones in even though they advertised them for $8. They had what was in the case only, which was one of each. Oh boy how stupid. Then I got a few things like jammie bottoms and a remote control hummer for my son and the lines were awful. They were handing out these VCR/DVD combos that were not the right ones so people were MAD.
I only have ONE gripe with Wal-Mart..
I don't care what they do or where they build stores. Many things have come before them and put others out of business, and eventually Wal-Mart will be put out of business by something else new and innovative. Think about when supermarkets came along.. That put all the little mom and pop grocers out. Are you shopping at a supermarket in 2005 or worrying about the vegetable man and the butcher shop on the corner? Of course not.. It's in the past. The only thing that I cannot STAND about Wal-Mart is the way they accost you at the door as you leave and ask for a receipt to prove you didn't steal the soda or the milk that is unbagged. I resent that, and no other store does this. My DH walks past and says "if you believe I've stolen something, please call the police." Do you know why they ask for the receipt? Because it's their own employees who don't charge friends and family members, for large ticket items particularly. I refuse to prove that I didn't steal something every time I leave the store. My solution is to make them bag everything. I swear, if I bought a car from Wal-Mart, I'd make them bag it !
