Depends on the call-in system

VDI is 34 to slow down and 36 to speed up. Every system is slightly different. You will need to contact whoever you work for to go into the keypad menu or manual. Good luck

It depends on how the system is set up...sm
I have worked on several different Meditech systems. They are all different. Margins are different. How the lines and/or characters are counted are different. One system counts gross lines, one system counts all lines blank lines included, one system counts just characters. Some count the headers, some don't. I currently work on two systems and when I copied and put into word, one system was right on and the other had a descrepancy I though might be the header.
It depends a LOT on your system...sm
If your QA score is calculated based on errors per line instead of errors per number of characters, the formula is probably similar to this:
Number of error points divided by number of lines, subtract from 1, multiply by 100.
For instance, if a critical error is worth 2 points and a noncritical error is worth 1 point, the formula would be thus:
Number of error points for 2 critical and 7 noncritical: 11
Number of 65-character lines, rounded up to a whole number: 40,178 / 65 = 618.
Error points divided by lines: 11 / 618 = 0.018
Subtract from 1: 1 - 0.018 = 0.982
Multiply by 100: 0.982 x 100 = 98.2
depends on the system
the hospital I worked for prior 7 worked however on my account now it rewinds it in increments so I either use the pedal by holding down teh rewind pedal which only takes a few second or I can keep hitting 7.
Good luck
Depends on your system.
There are many systems set up so that you can place comments but what sometimes does not get relayed is the fact that anyone who can access that system can read the comments or questions .. you need to be professional about all questions. You can pick up the phone and ask what their problem is too .. I work QA and I am never nasty to my group .. I feel I am there to help not demean.
Call-in system
I have an internet based digital call in system with 4 ports. It is very simple to use. The doctor calls in and then the work is on the server, you load it with Express Scribe and do your work........If you want another transcriptionist to get work, then you just put in their e-mail address along with your doctor's key and it will automatically forward to the transcriptionist, while you still have a copy of the voice file to be able to double check the work. I bought mine through RT King.
To sm, don't do it! Someone will call you and ask why you are off the system!
nm
don't you also need the call in system with this? nm
???
call-in system
How many clients do you have? IOW, how many doctors would be calling in at any given time? If you just need a one-line call-in unit, Philips makes a decent one that is relatively inexpensive, as call-in systems go. Only one doc can call in at a time, though. If you need something bigger than that, maybe look at Straight Talk. Sometimes you can even find those on Ebay
Call In System
Thank you! It will be approx 8 physical therapists calling in at one time. Thank you for your input.
call in system
Hi,
I use Idigital call in system from transcriptiongear.com. Very reasonable and you can buy packages which charge less for more minutes that are used. So, you have to estimate the first month, then can purchase different packages depending on your need. My docs love it.

call in system
Does anyone out there use a call-in system where the docs can just dictate right to your computer. If so, please answer in my email, as I can never find the messages I post again. scribes@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you for your help.

Call In System
Hi there, we used idigital when we first got started and then bought our own system. We bought the wrong one and got horribly burned until we found the right solution. Drop me a line if you'd like to talk on the phone so I can explain all the ins and outs.

Depends on what kind of system you are using....
where I work, we can set our voice wave to download by job number, physician ID, job type, many different ways. Sometimes we need to just download one kind of report, or a specific report we've been asked to do as a stat. Unfortunately, that also allows unethical people to grab one physician's work, as in a doctor who might dictate using templates which you just pop into the report and you have a whole report already typed out with just a few changes. Or, they might like doing a certain job type that is easy for them, and they can grab those. Of course, it's stupid to do that because everything is computerized now and they can obviously see what you are doing as it is documented by the software. I never ever do that, never have, never will.
It depends on what VR system you are talking about, sm
and how long the account has been on VR.
I have been doing VR for about 5 years now, EditScript from eScription, and it is 10x faster than standard transcribing.
But again, I also make way more than 4 cpl. So, I make a decent wage and am quite happy with VR.
Call in dictation system
I have a digital call in dictation system that is less than 2 years old that has given me nothing but problems from day one. It has already blown 2 speech boards and a new one has to be put in. I purchased an insurance policy for it but the company is giving me a large hassle. I currently have a loaner system that is also acting up. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any Internet-based call in systems that doctors could use by calling in on an 800 number and something that is easy to use and maintenance free from my end. I have always used a computer based call in system but it is very expensive to maintain with phone lines, etc. I am looking to get something fast that I can have set up as a backup in case my loaner also breaks down. I am a novice as far as Internet systems go. Thanks for any help or information about a company that you could recommend.
help in picking call in system..help please..sm
My sister and I are expanding as the clinics are adding more dictators. We were using Straight Talk, but this is limited to two dictators and one remote MT. We need to go for more lines now. We are trying to find the easiest system to use that is also very VERY reasonably priced as we do not have a lot of money to put out right now. Would like suggests from anyone that has used different systems as to how many can call in, and how many can transcribe simultanesously and what the unit is called, pricing, that type of information. We need to do this, but need to make an informed decision, rational, not just jump in. Need something that will be more useful than these were for about 1 year...now looking again...
Any suggests greatly appreciated
Tiffin
I'd call the owner of the system (sm)
I think it depends on how the system you are dialing into is set up.
Digital Call In System
I have one doctor who wants to come on and go to a digital call in system. Does any one have any suggestions for an economical system to use?
Thanks,

Looking to Use/Buy Space on Your Call-In System
I have a MT service and have only a few small clients who do call-in dictation (most use handheld digital) I am looking to use space on someone else's call system and either: Pay for that - OR - Do a trade in terms of TX or QA work. 16 years in MT as transcriptionist, QA and business owner.
If you are interested, message me here and/or leave your contact info. Thank you,
David
They are probably looking for a call-in digital dictation system or
if they have one in their office, a ld service for you to call in and get the dictation.
I certainly would ask and clarify what exactly they are looking for and what they want.
Good luck!
Actually, with a call to Microsoft, the OS--operating system-- SM
Can be reinstalled on the same computer, in the event of a crash or need to reinstall because of a crash or just cleaning up the computer by reinstalling the OS, or the change to a new motherboard or hard drive, etc. I'm not too knowledgeable on this, but on other IT web sites IT professionals routinely re-install for a fresh system and they CALL the Microsoft # for reauthorization. At least on XP. Which is the way it should be. If my computer crashes, it is still the same computer and the same OS I paid hundreds of dollars for in some cases, so yes, you can install on the same computer. THere would be a mutiny off Windows if you could not. ANd they know this. They ran into this with Vista and had to back down. Computer professionals routinely re-install for a fresh system or when a computer has difficulties.
Don't correct my mistakes on grammar and caps, i didn't proof.
Toll-free call-in system
I have 3 doctors that I am going to be taking on as clients of my own. One is going to be using a recorder, the other 2 are still wanting to use a call-in line for their dictation. They will not be dictating a large amount just a couple times a week. Does anyone have any suggestions for a service that provides a toll-free call-in line for a decent price? I am thinking about mydocsonline for my doc that will be using a recorder.
Thanks in advance and Merry X-Mas to you all!
Small MTSOs using call-in system....sm
What is your usual mode of delivery? Email? FTP? Or something else? Any information would be great! TIA
Cheap and easy call in system? - sm
I have one account not through my MTSO that still uses microcassette tapes. It is 1 doctor (who's near retirement age, not quite yet but he's no spring chicken!) and dictates literally about 200 lines or less per day, often much less. But his office manager would like to get him to do digital files where I don't have to print and deliver. But I look at call in systems (if that's even the right thing?) and there several thousand dollars! I told the O.M. I'd help and see how doc's dictate to wav files and the whole FTP system works. I guess I don't even know if that's what he needs or if there's something relatively inexpensive to dictate to, that I can grab off the internet and send back electronically.
Any direction would help...I don't mind doing the research, I just don't even know what direction I'm going. Thanks so much!
How to bill client for call-in system....
Do you charge slightly more per line if the client is using your call-in system (versus other less expensive methods like digital recorder) or do you just bill them the amount of the phone bill?
Thanks for any suggestions!
Digital Recorder versus Call-in system
I have a friend from church who is a physical therapist and she still uses the tape recorders for dictation (about 10-15 therapists). I would like to try to obtain their transcription account and offer them a better way to dictate. I currently have 1 account of my own who uses an Olympus digital recorder and I also work for a company that uses a call-in system. Does anyone know anything about a call-in system, such as obtaining it for a business? Or do you think it would be cheaper in the long run to offer the digital recorders to each of the dictating therapists in return for their dictation? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Instead of a call-in system, why not use a handheld digital recorder?
The sound quality is much better, the recorders are very affordable and you can use FTP to transfer files both directions.
Will you have to pick up tapes, provide a call-in system
print and deliver. Take everything into consideration before submitting your rate to your client. Ask the doctor for a sample report so you can see the font size and line length if you are going to charge a gross line rate. If you charge per 65-character count, the font size and characters per line will not matter. I personally think 11 cents is low unless you are charging for blank lines.
Auto backup has to be fixed through the call-in system
Go under keypad menu, and then fix the auto backup space or through the Transcriptionist ID settings on the setup. Also, the dictation system should have a separate code/key for larger rewind to hit.
Hope that helps!
Is a C-phone like Bytescribe call-in system or Philips digital transcription
My 2 stations don't have the actual phone piece, but I can make calls to the place where I get work. I'm just curious because I want to take a test that requires C-phone, and I'm not sure if my stations will work or not. If anyone can give me some background or information on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
I have a call in system and also use tapes. We send completed reports via encrypted email.
I use MPCount, which is a free line counting program that you can download and it works great.
VDI call-in system sounds much better than digital recorders and easier tracking with redundant hard
You can hear a pin drop on this system. The sound is that clear. The system has a redundant hard drive and auditing capabilities. It has the capability to do everything but transcribe it. The better the sound file, the faster you can transcribe. I purchased a call-in system that used digital recorders, and the sound was so bad that I ordered this one the same day. I wasted $1200 on that system. Get the analog that uses a VDI SuperStation or C-phone (the C-phone is more clear). Even though the technology is not as new as the digital recorders, in this case it is better. Good luck!
Meditech is an operating system and Fusion is voice for a dictation system

got the "phone call" -- get this, MQ has hired a bunch of telemarketers to call all of us to
we received our "incentive packet." They don't even have the wherewithall to contact us personally. These are temp-agency hired telemarketers sitting around a boiler room making sure we're reading our mail.... told him it don't pertain to me because I've been demoted from FT to SE.... He said, "yes, the letter is vague, but it does pertain to FT as well as SE...." yeah right, we'll see.

On-call requires on-call compensation by law
This field gets more disgustingly grotesque daily.
Call me, call me anytime.
I'm waiting to hear back on a job. Call me!
Call KS and call your bank. Why ask here?
.
If they don't call you within 15 minutes, you should call them. There
is no excuse for leaving you sitting by a phone all day. At the very least, an e-mail explaining why the delay. If this is the way they train, how do they pay. Do you really want to work for a company who thinks so little of your time?
It's the way our system is set up..
We can search to see what work is out there, and we can also search by author and see what work each author has, and even look at completed reports, which is nice when you're stuck. I love my platform.
everyone on DQS (DEP) system
not all accounts are on it yet, but most are
Can you say what system it was? nm
xx
I think it is what system you are using,
that is why I asked you to tell me more. I use eScription and 1 can believe or not but I am amazed at how the ESLs are picked up better than the English. You are using Dictaphone- I have read other posts who are on different VR system and they are not satisfied. I have loads of ESLs on my account but am happy VR is picking up instead of my having to listen to them all and trying to muddle through.
Your system allows this?
The system I work on does not allow me to 'pick' my work. I have a pool of work and it loads into my computer 3 records at a time. I have to take what I get and do what I get. Your system allows you to choose what dictations you want to do? In my opinion, that is not fair to anyone. It should be what pops up gets done by whoever reaches it first.
I would say one last thing to my boss about it, if I were you. I would just tell her that you can sit there and watch what is happening, that this one person is taking the gravy jobs, and for your boss to sit and observe it herself and do something about it. I don't see why any person feels they are better than another, to get an easy income while others struggle. I sure hope it is resolved soon for you.
For every system set up, there is a way around it..
our system recently changed to allow only ONE job to be seen and worked on at a time, which they thought would stop the cherry picking, but it has not. There is a web site where we can still view what is coming next and down the line. The cherry pickers just wait, PERHAPs doing a little job here and there, and then as soon as a very large one comes up, snap. it is gone! I hate this way of things. I certainly wish that all accounts were "assigned" accounts. Much more fair to all transcriptionists. but that is just my opinion!!!
EMR System
I just got back from a meeting at my employer's office. They've been implementing EMR and expect most of it to be up and running by March. They haven't come right out and told us (the other transcriptionis), but we may be without a job, although they haven't really said too much. Supposedly they may still need us because there are some doctors that are set in their ways and won't use it.
What system do you use? NM

The problem is with our system.
As a Caucasion I do feel shame for what my ancestors have done to people of other races, especially to Native Americans. However, I cannot go back in time and fix that. The problem now is not that people want to come here, the problem is the gravy train our government allows outsiders that do come here. This is in no way good for the citizens of this country, no matter their original nationality. If I wanted to become a citizen of another country, the first thing I would expect to have to do is to learn the language. The powers that be have had a global economy as part of the agenda, and now we have it. This did not start with the current administration. I do not know if there is anything that can be done to help the situation at this point. The powers that be have what they want. If you are big business, then you can trade with anyone in any country who has the money. If this is what they wanted, at least they could level the playing field so that we could financially compete with those who are being given a free ride.
Then she'd get back on the system with
This is so-and-so, and I got disconnected AGAIN.
abcdz system
Could you please explain?
Yep, but its the Dictaphone system...
My hospital rad account decided to "upgrade" their system which supposedly would take half an hour - its now 6 hours and counting - and the docs haven't been able to dictate since noon - boy R we in for a backlog tomorrow!
