Just so you know, you are not a bad mother because he "escaped". Kids do this more often than we like to think about.

do you not know the dangers of smoking?????
Just kidding, i too am a smoker. Hate it soooo much but at the same time i look so forward to that smoke on the drive home from class. I have smoked in my house, I try not to because of the smell, but if i'm stressed emotionally, i turned to my good friend 'the pack'...my new method of quitting this time...POPCORN!!! I will buy bags of it and when I get the urge to smoke, i will chow down. It could work because its hand to mouth motion, a bit self destructive and i also look forward to eating it. good luck to me!!! Target has the best popcorn too, very salty.
Dangers of outsourcing....
What the US-based executives that are racing each other toward off shoring to India do not seem to realize (or do not care because they are not interested in the future of the company, just their bonus for the next quarter) is that there is a finite number of well-educated people in India and, with competing opportunities from more developed countries around the world battling for a low-cost, well educated work force, that number of educated people available is declining and wages are rising.
We have a tendency to assume that all children have a public education like those in western countries, but that is not true. The low-wage countries are also low education countries.
