DSM-IV code 317 is listed as mild mental retardation; DSM-IV code 318 is moderate mental retardation; DSM-IV code 318.1 is severe mental retardation; DSM-IV code 318.2 is profound mental retardation; and DSM-IV code 319 is mental retardation, severity unspecified.

I assume you know what DSM-IV is.
