Goldtouch Keyboard
I just got a Goldtouch keyboard with seperate number pad.  I can't get my ALT functions to work on the keyboard or the number pad.  I speaking about ALT 171 for 1/2 etc.  Does anyone have a Goldtouch answer?
Goldtouch ergonomic keyboard
Check out ebay for keyboards.  I use a Goldtouch, whic tents up in the middle, like a teepee.  Got used to it real quick.  Now it seems totally strange and uncomfortable to use a "regular" keyboard.
Your husband tech guys are not the bible. You have go give access for tech sm
support to get onto your computer. Just sit there and watch everything they do. If you still feel uncomfortable do not take the job.
Agree. You could be a Surgical Tech or Respiratory Therapy or a Med. Tech. nm

Goldtouch?
Where did you get this Goldtouch, Midas ?? I think the Natural was the one I used before. Can you adjust the Goldtouch or does the company?
2nd vote here for Goldtouch.

goldtouch keyboards anyone?

I did a search but came up empty handed, which I do not understand as I recall seeing Goldtouch mentioned before.

Are people generally happy with this keyboard?

more info on the Goldtouch.

While it's not to my liking, it may be good for those who aren't really partial to a very clicky, mechanical keyswitch type of feel and who don't need a totally split keyboard.  And it's fairly economical compared to many good ergo keyboards.

Just curious...for those of you who use a Goldtouch

I am considering purchasing a Goldtouch keyboard.  I have had a total of 4 wrist surgeries in the past and did some reading about this keyboard and would like to give it a try.

I am just curious, for those of you who use one, how long does it take to get used to using it?

Any info you could give would be very helpful!

TIA

Goldtouch is brand name. see msg.

I always get mine on eBay. They aren't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for and they are great, in my opinion.
I think a Goldtouch? was rek'd before. Might do a net search

If you still like the Goldtouch, you can get them on ebay nm

I have a Goldtouch and love it! You can split it sm
to whatever angle you want, and also "tent" it up.  I used to use the Microsoft Natural and loved it, but this is even better!
Nope, unfortunately, the Goldtouch doesn't

And I don't like the key feel of the Goldtouch that much (not clicky enough for me).

Is your Lexmark anything like these?  (My dream keyboard, sigh.  Somebody who posts here has one of them, but they're in the really prohibitive price range now, something like $500+.)http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cfm/fa/categories.main/parentcat/12675

If so, what a shame yours is wearing out. Maybe you could get it repaired?  http://www.pckeyboard.com/FAQs.html#Q8

Why, oh why, oh why, did they stop manufacturing good split keyboards like this?  Especially the IBMs.  I might try a Comfort ErgoFlex or ErgoMagic next time.  http://www.sforh.com/keyboards/split.html

Thanks so much for the followup.  :)  And best of luck.  I well know how hard it is to think about going to any other style (totally split, with separation, that is) of keyboard now.

I have a Goldtouch. It has held up for two or three years already. nm

Use mine for work sometimes, but plug in my Goldtouch sm
keyboard and "real" mouse.   Obviously, too cumbersome for just "play" at a coffee house or something, but when I travel, I do pack the "good stuff" with me
I have tried almost all the weird keyboards there are. I buy them off Ebay. GoldTouch is my
:+
I haven't tried the Kinesis, but I use a Goldtouch, and love it. sm

You can split it however far you want it, "tent" it up and do whatever you need to make it as comfortable as possible.   I have heard good things about the Kinesis (are you referring to the one with the "wells?"), but it is kinda pricey, and I think it takes awhile to get used to it.  Let me know what you think if you get one.

Good luck!

Love my Goldtouch -- can spread it apart and tent it up however you like. nm

I love my Goldtouch -- can usually find them reasonably priced on eBay. nm

I use a MSFT Natural keyboard at home and the laptop keyboard on the road. nm

favorite keyboard over the holidays is called "no keyboard"
nm
If you use a standard keyboard you can buy an old IBM model M keyboard on ebay or clickykeyboards.co

That key printing never wear down because the letters are part of the key itself.  They just don't make them that way anymore because it is too expensive to make.  Some of the mechanical keyboards like Cherry have what they double shot key imprinting and the letters are part of the key itself and don't wear off. That IBM keyboard is very noisy from the type of keyswitch it has so you may not like that.  Logitech and Belkin make some membrane switch keyboards that are supposed to have longer lasting key imprints.  I have a logitech that has the longer lasting key imprints and it is pretty good.  You have to look on the specs to find out if has the longer lasting key printing.

I have experimented so much with keyboards and have done a lot of research.  Way too much info.

I use a laptop with a full-size keyboard (no separate keyboard)
I'm using a lap desk but previously was using a pillow with a book on it under the laptop. No additional keyboard though, I bought one with a full-sized board with regular size keys (an HP) which I LOVE and it took no time at all to get used to it. I also love that when the weather improves, I can take my computer outside and get some fresh air! What a great job... :)
Keyboard and mouse. Is there such a thing as a keyboard that has a mouse on the actual keyboard?
nm

Has anyone used the Smartboard keyboard? Everyone tell what keyboard they have and rate it nm

Kinesis Keyboard and keyboard tray

Okay, any lefties use this keyboard? How long did it take to get used to? I use my left thumb for the space bar and I notice on a diagram of the keys that I would always be hitting the backspace key.

I'm really interested in getting a better keyboard. I destroyed my left hand and wrist the other week when I fell because I'm becoming a real klutz.

I bought the Soft Flex gloves, but they only help a little bit. My production is down because of it and it's driving me crazy. I can only type an hour without stopping and then have to rest the hand for some time.

I did buy a Microsoft 2000 keyboard but have yet to recieve it. Is this a good one?

Do you use a keyboard tray with it or just set it on the desk? Do you think a kayboard tray would be the least expensive item right now that would help with a straight keyboard?

Any info you can provide to help me in making any decision would be greatfully appreciated.

'Scuse me for being old school, but I've only ever used a straight keyboard.

Does anyone know of a keyboard that has the backspace key in the center of the keyboard? NM
nm
Ilove my Goldtouch -- you can make it a "'weird shaped" or not so weird shaped sm
as you want.   You can split it apart and angle it however you like and even tent it up too.  It definitely has helped me a LOT!  Before that, I used the Microsoft Natural and loved it, but this is even better.  :-)
Keyboards - Goldtouch, Kinesis Maxium, Kinesis Freestyle (sm)
Has anyone bought and used these keyboards within the last year?  I want a new keyboard and was looking at the above 3 mentioned.  I was favoring the Goldtouch but when I goggled Goldtouch reviews there seemed to be so many negative reviews - keys sticking, keyboard collapsing in tented position, etc.  Has anyone bought these keyboards within a year or so and could you tell me how you like them?  Would appreciate your input so very much.
Split keyboard mounted on chair arms versus split keyboard on desk

For longtime comfort which is best - split keyboard mounted on chair arms or split keyboard to be used on the desk?

Also, why the preference over split keyboards that come totally apart versus split keyboards that are permanently connected at the top?

I want to revamp my office and there are so many different options.

Gold touch makes a keyboard without number pad. Also the evoluent keyboard has the number pad on th
It is a very small keyboard and has laptop keys which are very quiet and light to the touch.  Almost no noise.
Med-Tech

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had any info on Med-Tech in Lousiana. I didn't see any good or bad in the archives. Thanks!

Jen

Med-Tech

Hi Bobbie,

Thanks for your input. Their schedule didn't work for me anyway-they were going to hire me without even doing an interview! I hope you had better luck in whatever you chose next.

Jen

Did you like being a vet tech? I'd like
to hear more about it, if you don't mind.
oh yes, but the tech guy did all that for me.
Can't really help you much in that way, but you can get it online, I think that's what he did.  It has junk mail files, suspected junk mail files, and then of course my "wanted" email file.  I'm not very computer "savvy" so that's why I needed help.  But it looks to me like you can just go to SpamBayes and load it. I know it has a "wizard" to load it.  Good luck because this spam thing has gotten way out of hand.  Should be a law against it!  Maybe someone else has heard of it, maybe try the technical help board if you can't get it to work.  I'm sorry that I can't help much more than that.  But yes, in answer to your question, you can set up your email as you would like.  Good luck, and hope this helps.
Hey, you tech MT's, help please.

I got a LinkSys router at Wal-Mart and with tech help, I got my Vista computer and other computer going at the same time; however, I unplugged the cable from the phone jack one night, as it was storming, and could not get both computers back on line after that.  I actually have returned the router and doing without for now.

I would like your experiences and any help that you could give me. I have used cable router before, but not for phone line -- DSL.  Thanks.

I would think the tech could do it. At my
former job they were able to switch them from Medscribe to DQS.
Must say, as former vet tech myself, that

maybe posted this on wrong board earlier:

I have a daughter vet in another state that would like me to transcribe her work.  Is there is way to do this via digital and/or a call-in dictation system without going through an MTSO?  Any suggestions? I'd sure love to be able to do that for her!

Need tech help, anyone!
Help!  I have my expansions in Word 2003 autoaorrect, called MSO1033.acl file.  I wanted to transport this file to another computer using Word 2007.  I got it over to the other computer, have installed it in the proper directory, and have renamed the Word 2003 file so it is called MSO.acl, which is what Word 2007 calls it.  Yet, when I open Word 2007 on the destination computer, my expansions are not there.  The file is showing in the directory, verified by my last date of change before I moved it, and is more than three times the size of a normal .acl file.  Can anyone tell me what boat I'm missing here?  Thanks, appreciate it.
What about an x-ray tech? Seems like there

MT becoming RAD TECH

I have heard MTs switching over to nursing, coding/billing, but has anyone else considered training for Radiology Technology.  I was considering this but found out the course work is very intense for 2-3 years while working in the hospital as an intern.  Can't do it now but still considering it in the future.  I hear the demand is only growing in this field and can't see it being outsourced.

Med-Tech, Mediscript in LA

Any info on these companies would be appreciate-I haven't found very much yet. Thanks!

Jen

TRS, SoftScript, Med-Tech

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has worked for any of these companies. I'm down to making my final choice. Thanks!

Jen

What's the tech number?

What's the tech number?

Tech support will help you set up a
shortcut on your desktop to access your ACO (shortcut) file if you ask them.
Re: tech support
I don't know if it gets back to our supervisors, but I wish it would get back to theirs! What I do now is tell the "real winner" support person that I have to hang up suddenly. Then, I call right back. I suddenly get a different one who is a whiz and very helpful. It's worth the hang-up and call back unless you have to wait 45 minutes for the next "helpful tech." ;-)
Help on tech board please!

I don't remember if I asked or not, but I did import my shorthand files into ExText, so I didn't have to start from scratch.

Good luck! I hope you're as happy with Amphion as I am!
